  1. I think a safe rule of thumb should be that the song has received

airplay on at least one standard (normal station with a real

broadcast) station at some point in history.

That having been said, I think this line is vaguely familiar.

I've either heard it or read it somewhere, possibly both, and at least

one in the past 6 months.

Oh, the sweet smell of success

and this is "Handle with Care" by the Traveling Wiburys (sp???)

    CORRECT.

    The Travelling Wilburys.

Lucky Wilbury, Otis Wilbury, Charlie T. Wilbury, Lefty Wilbury, and Nelson

Wilbury. Also known, respectively, as Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Roy

Orbison, and George Harrison. icon_smile.gif:)--> At least, that was them in Volume One-

in its sequel, Volume Three, they were Boo, Clayton, Muddy, and Spike Wilbury.

(Roy Orbison had already passed away during Volume 1's recording.)

This band got together by accident, actually, and its goal was to have a good time.

    icon_smile.gif:)-->

This was the first song they wrote.

George said to Bob: "Give us some lyrics, you famous lyricist."

When asked for a subject, "I looked behind the garage door and there was a

cardboard box with 'Handle with Care' on it."

Tom: "So we went out there to Bob Dylan's house, sat on the grass and from the germ

of an idea that George had on the guitar we wound up writing this song called

    'Handle with Care.' "

(The longer story is at http://www.geocities.com/paul_82_allen/wilb.html )

    So, Sharon, your turn. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

  3. "and All She Wants to do is Dance," by Don Henley.

Didn't the Eagles just do a reunion tour?

I like their old answer about when they'd never get back together.

When they finally did, the tour could only have one name,

the "Hell Freezes Over" Tour. icon_smile.gif:)-->

  4. "Oh, no! The man missed the answer in Jeopardy because he did not know what

Deuteronomy was.....Oh, muvvah! Will you put more petite marshmallows in my

hot cocoa muvvah! Gotta go, bye!" Hughes (Hines) made him hang up because

    he was overdoing it. icon_smile.gif:)-->

    ===========

Ok, that was a Running Scared quote, as was the reference to Jeopardy.

I take it that, right now, Belle's waiting for Raf to confirm her answer.

  5. Let's see....

He pushed books that said that the Holocaust was manufactured or wildly

    exaggerated.

I believe this has been disproven beyond a reasonable doubt.

(I believed that before I met a non-Jewish holocaust camp survivor,

    complete with number.)

He pushed books that said that "Jews" weren't really the Jews of the

    Old Testament.

This has been disproven with DNA evidence.

He was against money going to Israel.

He supported various conspiracy theories saying this country was going to

face some uprising, and supported everyone having firearms experience and

    a firearm.

    ===========

He may or may not have made comments that are clearly pro-Nazi, blatantly

racist, and so on. However, I was not privy to those discussions.

I do not know he did NOT make such comments.

Some people will assume that if they didn't see it, vpw didn't do it.

I'm not ready to make such a leap.

  6. It was Running Scared.

I was working my way up to the most famous quote:

    "No hablo ingles."

"Oh. Hablo SMITH AND WESSON? You have the right to remain DEAD.

You have the right to a coroner. If you cannot afford one, a MEDICAL EXAMINER

    will be appointed for you."

    and

"Calling all cars! UFOs landing on Michigan Avenue!"

  7. You think current members can AFFORD a "jump-drive"?

    Here's what they can do.

You memorize one website to do searches from like

    http://www.google.com

Then you use that site to do searches for the other sites by name.

If you type greasespot cafe into its search engine, it will bring you

    here.

You can also write out addresses on a piece of paper-

if you can trust no one will go thru your pockets.

If someone WOULD go thru your pockets, I think you already know what

    trouble you're already in.

The pages on this site are really long, so there is more information below the adds.

    "Tolerance"?

    Just reporting what I see.

Usually the more serious, studious types add a specific name like Kemetic or

something, and distance themselves from the self-labelled "neo-pagan" movement.

    Here, see for yourself..

That's a site by a self-identifying wiccan who's tired of all the fluffy

  9. BTW,

I was a smidge disappointed that the starfighter battles didn't include

the 2 ship models that should have been there:

the Y-Wing and the Z-95 Headhunter.

Both were old-model fighters by Episode IV.

Y-Wings were used in the Death Star battle in Episode IV as bombers,

but were being phased out as bombers by Return of the Jedi.

Their main strength was being able to take a lot of punishment and keep

flying. (Secondary strength: some models had a 2nd seat and a tailgunner.)

The Z-95 Headhunter was "the X-Wing's little brother."

It looked like an X-Wing with its wings together in cruise mode.

Z-95's were the earlier model and lacked hyperdrives. They were known

for taking a tight turn and also for taking a lot of punishment.

The Rebellion never used them because they needed ships that could

hit-and-run...and the Z-95 never had a hyperdrive. (For that reason,

it also didn't use R-2 astromech droids.)

Then again, if they HAD been used, the famous line

"lock S-foils into attack position" could not have been used, since both

    are fixed-wing fighters.

I think I'll survive the disappointment somehow.
