  1. I have read a significant amount of his work. And I do not agree with a far more significant amount of his work. He may be meaner than I, maybe. Doctrinally, sorry (well, I want to be polite), I am not buying in. Sincere, yes, his work is sincere, however to me, very incoherent..although not dysfunctional...

    Texas, Our Texas

Ok, ok, some red, very red flags are going up with me..Tell you what, I will get a visa, when Texas comes up with a better beer than "lone star", meet me at high noon, over by the canal in San Antonio so we can settle this "mano y mano"..that is, I am sending "mano" to you, recently hired from the Waterloo Home Depot parking lot...you need to find your own mano....
  3. Great stuff here, George. From reading many of your posts, you come across as "sharp as a tack". Dow, as I understand is big in the area of development. The organometallic chemistry sounds leading edge and a challenge. Thanks for narrowing down what the area of chemistry you work in is..regards, michael Great post, some very interesting travel, passions...its like that song from South Pacific, sung by the older Polyonesian woman, "Happy Talk"......you gotta have a dream to have a dream come true...regards..michael
  4. Oh, now Krysilis, are you "hittin" on me, I am definitely getting a "vibe". Check out my photos and if a worldly, bad boy appeals to you, oh, do PM me..

    Texas, Our Texas

Folks, do you know what Texans call California? Ans: West Texas
  6. Ya know, this brought back a painful childhood memory, Oenophile, thank you for ripping my emotions into tiny glass shards - lol Just kidding, but really, I can relate to this: When I was in grade school, they had a "music test", first the class had like a questionaire, music questions, and then they had the test, you wrote down answers...music questionaire, then music test. One of the questions was "what instrument would YOU like to play"...hey, I was like 10, oh course it was the drums, duh, hey "Ringo" is a drummer. I take the music test, it had sounds, and rhythms. I get the results: "The best instrument for YOU is the VIOLIN." Folks, unless you are in your 50's, lived in California, I have my doubts you were part of the "social experiment" those well meaning California psychologists put the children through way back then, if it wasn't sugar cubes for polio, "Co-educational PE", it was IQ tests..yep, I am still damaged goods, one childhood dream never done, never accomplished.......
  7. I have completed my Letter To The Editor in response to the article pointed to in Belle's posting. Yes, the result of my letter if posted, may result in individuals currently associated with TWI starting a letter writing campaign. And so what? Quality to me, is more important than quantity, but that is just me.. If there is a response from the Editor to me, that I feel is significant, I may post it here on GSC. GSC has not been mentioned in my letter, implied, referenced, no ones name, handle has been referenced. All my name, my thoughts, my take on the article.. regards...michael
  8. Thanks for responding Raf, if you are around at 7cst, would love to hear your thoughts..and I very much agree, specifically, this is about finances, not faith, absolutely.. and the context, I am hearing you assert about the article..opinion, absolutely (the authors facts are not givens by any stretch of the word, a representation of "biblical research" or even "ministers" all opinion, tithing, opinion. It may be a complete waste of my time and that is not a problem, it is my time to waste.. that is, what I write, they decide not to publish, NP, I have no control over the situation, I mean the point of their publishing anything, whether its me or Joe Doe is self-interest, publicity..
  9. oh, you...waysider, really, I am worthy of your trust. Writing has boundaries, I have no expectations and no agenda...TWI, to me, said this, and did something else.. In writing, the goal is to reach people, an audience, and in my experience to reach people the necessary condition is relevance, things others can relate to, and out of the gutter so to speak...plain speaking goes a long way with folks..michael
  10. chat, 7pm CST, be there or be a square, er be square...thanks, I appreciate your interest, expression is marvelous, isn't it.. absolutely...GSC is separate and distinct, I do not plan on mentioning GSC at all..at all...I have my head on with what slander is, libel, defamation..thanks, I am hearing reservation and nothing unhealthy about that...thanks for responding to the post Watered Garden..
  11. I wrote a short thank you note to Ms. Ash, thanking her for the opportunity to be considered for publication. I would like to write the article with help from others, including Raf, if he is interested. Raf is cetainly free to contact Ms. Ash. The article, if published is not about me. Currently, I write for a animal shelter, in their newsletter. I see the article as being simple, to the point, positive, and flowing with the goals of the article Ms. Ash wrote. I do disagree about the context of the facts presented there. My qualifications include legal analysis writing, a B.A. and a year of post graduate work in Paralegal studies... The challenge to me, is flowing with, or supplementing, rebutting, the emphasis of that section of the article that deals with Mr. and Mrs. Martin... I do hope you have some time this evenning for some chat. thanks....
  12. Thanks, in my voice mail, I referred to GSC. In talking with her this afternoon, she is aware of "us" as well. thanks again..
  13. No problem with that here. I think her "challenge" is a great opportunity, to get an article back, whether its from me or a group effort, that is a few or many people wanting to be part of the solution. Talking to someone, like Ms. Ash is a potential. As long as she is approached with respect due her as a professional and the subject matter relevant to her, positive, well, in my experience, good things can happen. Good luck in talking with her, the article is part of her work, not her career, so the more calls she gets, no doubt she could get bogged down, but I say go for it, don't worry, be happy....and again, I would like to submit an article for her approval, so if and when you get some time, do let me know what three or four points "rebutt" what Mr. Martin asserts via the article.... Edited: I will endeavor to be in chat tonight, say 7 to 8ish CST and see what people think, I think there is a room option...I would like to get some ideas from those who have read the article, in order help me, narrow down the subject matter, if you feel you can help, please drop by...michael
  14. I have been reading these and they are all, thoughtful and honest. I really like the Walk on the Great Wall one, the cartoonist, on the radio... I do feel I can't really relate to the "nun" one, would the poster feel like expounding/expanding that one? As in, I can relate to being a cowboy, ya get some nifty "duds", a gun, pointy boots and ride horses, but I am a little unclear on the benefit package with Nuns, maybe travel, having some peace and quiet, inquiring minds want to know...thanks...
  15. Folks and folkettes, I received a lovely call from Ms. Ash, of New Jersey, the lovely journalist, who wrote the article Belle pointed us to. I did suggest to everyone, our readers, that they call Ms. Ash. I did, less than three minutes after reading the article. So, she comes across as a lovely woman, bright, responsive, and we had a chat. The sum and substance of this is that she says, if I write an article, as in rebuttal to the information posted in the article, she will publish it. In talking with her, I did point out I felt it was a newsworthy article, however that there are many individuals here on GSC, as well as others out in the world that would feel TWI was more of an experience involving abuse, victimization, and so on. I pointed out that I felt I could understand her postion in being a journalist, my ex-wife is a journalist, and that research is involved and so on, and that I felt there was a potential for her being on the recieving end of "flack" for publishing the article, my opinion, that that is a possibility, not that I was intending giving her flack, merely a possiblity, as in, TWI, a controversial organization (to say the least) with regard to any and all things specific. What I would like, what I "need" help on: Writing an article. Me: busy at times, desiring opinions, or points of view that bring the issue of TWI and finances into focus, summary, as in three or four major points that are verifiable, realistic, appropriate, and compelling. I tend to have a tendency to way, way over do things, like formal writing...Ms. Ash is thinking something fitting into her format, I am thinking 10 to 20 pages. I do like waterfalls, butterflys, lolipops in my mouth, walks in the rain, but writing is "real world" and I would not feel writing a rebuttal without it being more "consensus" with GSC and a shared task the best of all possibles. Not that I am saying the article "represents" GSC, I mean the interaction on GSC is interaction I prefer as an influence. Thank you for reading, and your consideration, sincerely, Michael
  16. I apologize for being of few words, at the moment..but what you are pointing out is, in my opinion, relevant. VPW did write without discipline, in my opinion, I would give him a D in citing his references, giving credit where credit was due. Most probably, its what I am hearing/understanding what Waysider has said, VPW being a product of his generation. Maybe formal writing was merely never VPW's goal, part of his background at the school(s) he attended. Its, getting late.. Maybe his approach was more along the line of getting out as much material, cutting the corners, so to speak to keep up with the growth of TWI, quantity rather than quality...
  17. I heard and I even believe I saw a photo of this. On the topic, now...little things we wonder about.... I heard and I believe I saw a photo of the front and back of a "claymore mine", the ones that came about in Nam, as in Vietnam....anyway, isn't there on one side "Face Toward Enemy", and there wasn't there something about "Do not eat" on it....or have I just had one to many Mojito's? Found it: do not necessarily discount everything that comes from the government. I remember from my time in Southeast Asia that every once in a while, our tax dollars fund government studies of inestimable worth. For example, the folks in the Defense Dept. researched issues related to protecting our troops while at the same time, providing the enemy the maximum opportunity to give his life for his country. From one of those studies came the Claymore mine. The Claymore mine is a device designed to spray an area with many, many steel ball bearings of approximately .32 caliber at a velocity approaching 19,000 feet per second. The device consists of a small sheet of C-4 plastic explosive, one side of which is covered with the steel balls. It is deployed with the ball side facing the enemy, and is detonated by means of an electrical charge transmitted to a blasting cap that is inserted into the C-4. The entire package is encased in a plastic cover that keeps everything intact until the moment of detonation. The wonder of this device is not its destructive force (which is considerable). No, the wonder is the message that came with each Claymore, to alert its users to the danger it posed. I know, you're probably thinking of messages like, "Danger! High Exposive!" or the like. No, the warning is much more personal than that. On the back of the mine, in letters embossed upon the olive green plastic, were these words: "Do not eat." Sage advice, that. But I've never been quite comfortable with the notion of entrusting a Claymore mine to someone who could actually benefit from this advice.
  18. Great, excellent, post, socks, thanks for your work and your thoughts, a lot of work went into this...michael
  19. Not really jumping into the fray, just to say, I believe you are accurate Waysider, once you start writing, your work is a work in progress and is a copyright that just hasn't had the paperwork done, you do own it. And after something leaves copyright into the public domain, it doesn't get a copyright again on the material...
  20. Very nice. WOW, the creative process, I suppose it helps him get into the mood of the role. Tasteful length for a dress I think.
  21. Back when I lived in Chicago, because there are a lot of Polish people there, a museum, a part of Chicago called "Ukraine Village" which has poles...I started to connect with "my roots". At the time I was working part time and needed some extra money. I was approached by someone, who had some work, although, not legal, as in doing some "running some numbers". As in like a courier, for illegal gambling, and run by the Polish mob, Polish organized crime. And I was pretty good at it. Made some money. And as time went on, I was offered, bacause I am Polish, a spot in the Polish mob, they offered to "make" me in the family. Before I took the offer, I did some research by asking questions here and there. What I found out was that the mob really did business like in the old country, the old school way, like in Poland.. When it came down to it, to be an enforcer, that is a guy who collects bad gambling debts, if the guy who you are collecting money from, for a bad debt, won't pay up, you have to break your own arms and legs until he does... So, I turned down the offer.. See - Polish mob, break your own arms and legs. Nuff said.
  22. oh, I was referring to Gary Martins email in the article that Belle posted. Down on the right, a couple of paragraphs, Garys email is listed, when I did a copy and paste into yahoo and sent a letter to him it came back undeliverable, Belle pointed it out to me, I changed those postings. I thought at first that Gary's email in the article was a fake, but what it was a typo, as Belle said. I have not edited the journalists email, that is, all I did was do a copy and paste, nothing was removed.....but I edited the journalists email, per your advice. thanks...
  23. Yes, I heard it, Doctor saying it, where, when, well somewhere between 1973-1976. I believe that VPW believed that God was truly absolute in all meanings of the word. That if he married you, the value of his advice, counsel, and so on, was so VALUABLE that its value was greater than anyones life. Now, I feel that what he meant was sort of along the line of personal sympathy, that is if you did get divorced after being married by him your life would be filled with misery, and all the bad stuff. But, here is the thing...words mean something, what he said was what he said, if that is not what he meant, then, gee, I guess he wasn't perfect. And its not my problem, its VPW's and god rest his soul... So, my standard is this, say what you mean and mean what you say. If I fall into the same trap, I promise to endeavor to correct myself. Like I have said elsewhere, we each choose what we compromise on, compromises we can live with and compromises we can't live with...knowing, our knowing the difference is wisdom in my opinion, the difference between living and dying every day. I personally would rather be dead than compromise any of my standards, regardles of who feels they are reasonable, sound, appropriate, applicable...anything...but thats just me..you choose...you decide...its your life, you make your own decisions about what right and wrong are...whats good, whats bad..whats valuable..whats worthless...regards, michael
  24. Great question, here is my answer, by way of regressing. I wrote Bo R., the ex-trunk leader, some years ago. He has come out and said that he has "repented", well, that is my perception. Anyway, I wrote ol Bo a letter, pointed out what I had heard, he wrote back and said that he had repented and that he repented on a tape, a recorded tape and did I want a copy? I wrote back and said, yes, and here is my address. No surprise on where this is going, the tape did not come. I gave him an opportunity to "EARN' my respect, just like in TWI days, my life was all about "earning the respect of others in TWI", so Bo. R., you are in my opinion a liar, you did not send the tape, and there are no excuses. So, the satisfactory answer is "Yes, I Craig Loy Martindale sexually assaulted woman/women at TWI HQ, I regret it and I am endeavoring to live my life to repay those who I harmed as a leader in TWI and society in general for my failings as a responsible human being" A pipe dream on my part, probably. Yet is is a possibility? Yes, human beings have the capacity to change, repayment may not be possible, that I would agree about. I would applaud knowing LCM has rejoined the human race. Its not like I spend my life looking for LCM or am planning that, I respond to posting on GSC, express my feelings. To me, the subject is mind set, my mind is set on living a life that makes up for the time I lost to TWI, which includes the approach, or attitude, that LCM owes me something more than his own life..its not my problem if he has no mental capacity to handle it, agree with it, clear the hurdle...it more like what goes around, comes around, or is it comes around goes around...if LCM dished it out, certainly he is able to take it, or is he merely still playing a game. Here, let me be blunt. Doctor said, if you get a divorce, "I would rather see you dead". Ok, fine, freedom of religion, the first ammendment, untouchable......so I say, Craig Loy Martindale do ME a favor and end your life, end it.
