  1. A Frosty movie about footwear and flowers with singing on tombs where love has nothing to do with getting married.
  2. Peter Sellars The return of the Pink Panther Christopher Plummer
  3. So hopefully you are now back on track after checking up on the Von Bulows?
  4. The Time Machine (2002) Jeremy Irons Reversal of Fortune
  5. Hmmm what about the son of the Widow of Nain, Jairus's daughter and Lazarus among others?
  6. Well now I know, last time I saw JP he can't have been much older than his son is now.
  7. My question was really in respect of whether he is a relative of VPW.

Who would wanted to discuss a blended whisky? :o
  9. But some letters that look as if they are latin are different in Greek I would also defy anyone who did not speak Welsh or Gaelic to work out how to pronounce things even when they are written using latin letters. Pity we couldn't have given VP a Greek New Testament and asked him to show us how beautifully it sounded.
  10. I should also point out that capitalisation is not found in the "original" manuscripts either. VP was right on that, capitalisation is part of interpretation. So God is never "God" but "god".
  11. I don't know even if VPW could actually read the Greek in the Greek alphabet. Let alone Hebrew or the Estrangelo Aramaic ones. If not his claims to scholarship have to become suspect to begin with.
  12. A Welsh kilt is very similar to a Scottish one but usually has a hemmed selvedge and a design such as the ref dragon or the St David cross, or both to the right of the front apron. What also makes it Welsh is the tartan design and also the spelling as there is no k in Welsh it is therefore spelt Cilt - c always has a k sound in Welsh. Hey Twinky. Depending upon where you are that could be the case but who is "Br3ndy"? I gave it to a WOW from Scotland who was serving in Bristol - Paraig (Peter) MacNeil who is now the Official Bard of the Clan Gregor and a storyteller in both Gallic and English. He keeps on talking about some guy called Andrew Wommack of Charis Bible College - interestingly enough located near Pike's Peak!)whose ministry he now follows.
  13. The Windows of Heaven seem to be pouring out a lot of snow around here at present. Hardly a bankable asset!
  14. Yahweh is but one of the possible renditions of the Hebrew tetragrammaton - the JWs think it's Jehovah. Guess if it's that important you better hope you picked the right one.
  15. I seem to remember that he stated he had quoted the first chapter of John's gospel in Greek when he did this act of fooling...
  16. Well if you view this rendition you can hover your mouse over the words in red and they shall be interpreted for you. You will be pleased to note that most Burns interprets itself right there in the verse... :P
  17. The Roman Empire was tolerant of different religions providing they were not seen as a threat to the State so Paul was seeking to minimise those perceptions by telling Christians to comply in matters civil. This verse has since been used to justify the existence and behaviour of all kinds of regimes since. What I was saying in that phrase you don't understand is that how trustworthy would be the judgement of any divine being be who decreed that such delightful people as Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Robert Mugabe etc etc should be in the positions of power that they were or are considering what they did with that power if that verse were literally true about being "ordained of God." Hope that makes it clearer.
  18. That poem above is NOT as written by Rabbie Burns! Must be a "translation according to usage." "I wish you could see it in the original..." Well you can. [bWee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie! Thou need na start awa sae hasty, Wi' bickering brattle! I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee, Wi' murd'ring pattle! I'm truly sorry man's dominion, Has broken nature's social union, An' justifies that ill opinion, Which makes thee startle At me, thy poor, earth-born companion, An' fellow-mortal! I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve; What then? poor beastie, thou maun live! A daimen icker in a thrave 'S a sma' request; I'll get a blessin wi' the lave, An' never miss't! Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin! It's silly wa's the win's are strewin! An' naething, now, to big a new ane, O' foggage green! An' bleak December's winds ensuin, Baith snell an' keen! Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste, An' weary winter comin fast, An' cozie here, beneath the blast, Thou thought to dwell- Till crash! the cruel coulter past Out thro' thy cell. That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble, Has cost thee mony a weary nibble! Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble, But house or hald, To thole the winter's sleety dribble, An' cranreuch cauld! But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane, In proving foresight may be vain; The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men Gang aft agley, An'lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy! Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me The present only toucheth thee: But, Och! I backward cast my e'e. On prospects drear! An' forward, tho' I canna see, I guess an' fear! ][/b] Only the original is "burnspneustos"! "Wince ye change the Worrd o' Rabbie, ye dinnae hae it ony mair." VP McWierwille.
  19. Good to see ya too bowtwi! Reasonable I would say.
  20. The more I think of that verse the more I think it is simply Paul speaking for himself in the the historical context in which he was. Trying to make the new faith more acceptable to the authorities as not being a threat to them. if any god was to actually select some of the powers that be one would have to seriously question his/her/its judgement.
  21. Why do people need 25 pairs of socks or underwear or shirts or shoes? :P So I can have some variety in my appearance and one can have different colour co-ordination etc, Need and wants parallel? Hmmm  Thanks for your welcome.
