Have a good one Paw

My condolences to Pat's family.
A few years ago I sent Pat an e-mail and I was surprised that he called me that night and we talked for over an hour. He was an easy man to talk to.
-
I still have two of them saved for a special day.

Still looking.

Jim surely was one of a kind. He will be missed.
Had some good times when he was Limb Leader in Maine back in 1976.

Rocky
Is it true? You are back?

RumRunner
I am going to heat the unit up today just to try to maintain temperature. Only 5 pieces of charcoal?? Doesn't seem possible to supply enough heat but I will start with it and add through the day. How often do you add wood chips?

Sushi
Thanks, I looked it up on their site. My wife paid $30.00 for it, very clean, only used once. Original cost was $600.00. Pretty good deal.

RumRunner - Thanks for the info. Do I have to start drinking again????
Shell - No info on the unit and I can't seem to find the company on the net, all I find is dealers.
LG - All I needed was the "Bandera" model, THANKS. Turns out there is a YAHOO discussion site just for that model. That picture is the one I have.

My wife went to a lawn sale and came home with a "New Braunfels" smoker but it didn't have any directions with it. This is a heavy duty smoker that is made with 1/8" plate steel not sheet metal. The smoke box measures 16" wide X 17" deep and is upright 36" high with 14 grate levels. The firebox is 16" wide X 20" long and 12" deep. It's weight is well over 200#. I couldn't find a picture of it on the net.
My problem is I have never used one of these and all the information I find on the net is to vague and conflicting.
I need step by step directions on how to use this beast. Can anyone give me directions on how to smoke a turkey with it?

Oooh, I'm glad this thread came up again - it's been nutty here and I almost forgot about this one...
Weather permitting we will be there. If it's really cold or rainy, I can't come because the kids would just be miserable.
Wanna meet at the GAZEBO* around 5PM?
I'll have a baby in a backpack on my shoulders, and another rug rat in tow...
From the fair's website:
=====================================
*Gazebo
New in 1998, the Gazebo" is located on the West end of the racetrack facing the Green Gate. You'll find barbershop quartets, stiltwalkers, bluegrass bands, the BJ Hickman Magic Show, and even a German marching band waiting to greet fair goers as they enter from the parking lot.
I will try to be there, but don't wait too long for me.
