Yea, in December 1979, right after I had been put on LOA from the 8th corps...see above.
Interesting thing at ROA 1979, my last. I had never met or talked with Barrie Hill, though I knew well of her deprogramming and return, having listened to the tape. Seemingly out of nowhere she walked up to me and struck up a conversation...right now I cannot even remember what we talked about.
How much do you want to know? I have my oroginal Waydale deprogramming threads, courtesy of Paw and PamSanDiego. I could start a new thread and rehash, or find me at smile092850@hotmail.com; I would be glad to fill you in. No, it wasn't Ted Patrcik in my case, but I was forcefully held.
As mentioned above, being 8th, I never knew a lot of 7th corps. One couple, J&N A. ran my PFAL class at Indy before they went in, and it was JA who got me thinking about going itno the corps, without suggesting it directly.
Of course, I was in res at Emporia with Hope for the few months of her last residence year that she spent there.
You must be a Star Wars fan. Hey, be sure to watch "Constricted" if and when it is released next year. I hear Mark Hamill does a good job as Rod Steiger's replacement.

So...today you are headed out...hope somewho you can keep in touch. Praying for smiles.

I was assigned to go to Gunnison after Christmas "break", during my final 8th corps residence year. However, a little later, while I was still at HQ, I was told I was being put on LOA. Then...that deprogramming.

Happy Birthday! Just a few hours to go.

So that is what the place looked like...I was supposed to be headed there after Christmas 1979...but got a little sidetracked.

I remember meeting David once or twice, though I didn't know him as well as a few other 7th corps (RK, J&N A, VK). Does it matter? Praying.

I hope it is a big one...for you and your loved ones.
Gotta be beautiful country out there!

Have a happy anniversary all year!!!

It's just about here....
Have the greatest day of your life. Thanks for all, and know that you are thought of.

Did I come back for nought?

No advice from me on that question...but whatever you do just keep up your encouraging ways.
especially to yourself.

Praying for CJ. For his healing, for his life.

Why don't you come across the northern route...say I90...and stop in here? I am at I90 and I29...so you can always get to NE in a hurry.

I hope this a day to remember...with smiles of course. I have been seeing more of you around lately and I like that.

I didn't look at this thread earlier for certain reasons, but the original post got me because Al was my first corps roomie...that plus after TWI I married into a Russian family.

If you want an e-friend, I am at smile092850@hotmail.com ... I could use some myself.

You got it.
And, no disclaimer needed....you are the one who has reminded us that there is nothing wrong with praying for ourselves, or asking for prayer.

As one of the oldies of the original THE, I suppose I had better make a mark here. Carry on.
