  1. I just read in USAToday.com that Gov Blanco of LA declared tomorrow (Wed) as a day of prayer. "That would be the best thing to calm our spirits and thank our Lord that we are survivors," she said. "Slowly, gradually, we will recover; we will survive; we will rebuild."

  2. My daughter is about to have a baby. On Friday, she went to the Dr and was told that she was dialated 2cm. Today she was having contractions and her husband took her to the hospital. They are now having problems and may have to have an emergency C-Section. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is (I got this 2nd hand from my daughter's mother-in-law.). I know that the baby is big and there isn't much fluid. There also was a question of whether the baby has turned. Either way, it looks like RJ is on the way. I'm believing that it will be an uncomplicated labor with a healthy baby.

  3. I still got the same book in front of me. It sure does say he wrote it. Maybe VP was reincarnated as Terrell Yarbrough. After all, Terrell is in Ohio. He even uses the last line of "But God is still alive." The only difference is TY uses "!" after alive; whereas, VPW uses "." icon_confused.gif:confused:-->

    I lost power for 4 days during last hurricane season.

    I was watching CNN & they said that the ones that are staying are those that don't have any way out. People that don't have cars or tourists and business people. They don't have any planes or trains going out or rental cars available.

  5. I am glad that I was (previously) active in TWI, but am glad to be out.

    I voted for this because I don't think given ANY situation (good or bad) had been avoided in my life, that I would have turned out to be the person that I am today. Besides, not everything was negative while I was in, otherwise I wouldn't have lasted so long (almost 20 years).

    In addition, I never would have given gs a second glance. love3.gif

    And did I mention it was the 13th anniversary of Hurricane Andrew?

    Didn't even think about it. Wow. I first moved to FL 2 weeks before Andrew (of course this was my initiation to FL). At the time, I lived in Sarasota and it was supposed to be the kids first day at their new school.

    Memories. Whew! Now I'm about to be a grandma for the 3rd time. (Waiting for the phone to ring. My daughter had a doctor appt this afternoon and she is dilated 2cm. She "didn't feel well" after the appointment, but went to work this evening anyway. Will baby RJ be born this weekend?)

    George, if you ever come to Florida, never, but never hit the breaks at a yellow light! You'll get rear-ended for sure! And when the light turns green, wait a few minutes for the crossing traffic to finish. icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:--> It's all the friggin' New Yorkers down here. Cause it's definitely not the blue hairs!

    AMEN SISTER!!! wave.gif:wave:-->

    Got my batteries

    Got my battery-powered fan

    Think I've got it all....Oh no!! I forgot the wine!!!! Can't have a hurricane party without wine. Another weekend, another hurricane. What else is new during hurricane season.
