  1. Seems like the worst of the bands have left. We lost power a few times, but nothing like last year. What do you know? I think the sun is out!! Here's to this year being nothing like last year.

  2. Time for some hurricane humor. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

You Might Be a Floridian If:

You have more than 20 C and D batteries in your kitchen drawer

Your pantry contained more than 10 cans of Spaghetti O’s

Making coffee on your grill doesn’t seem like an odd thing to do

You are on a first name basis with the Home Depot cashier

You decide your patio furniture looks better on the bottom of the pool

You own more than 3 large coolers

You have the number for FEMA on your speed dialer

You can wish that other people get hit by a hurricane and not feel the least bit guilty

Last year you couldn’t hang a shower curtain; today you can assemble a portable generator by candlelight

You can recite from memory whole portions of your homeowner’s insurance policy

At cocktail parties, women are attracted to the guy with the biggest chain saw

Relocating to North Dakota doesn’t seem like such a crazy idea!

  3. That pic shows why here in the Tampa/St Pete area are getting bad weather. Last year, I lost my home in the hurricanes. I now live in an apartment. Last night, I had a hurricane party after work. What can I say that hasn't been said before over here in Florida. ...another weekend, another hurricane.

Linda when were you in Wheeling? I was a WOW there and then stayed for a couple of years back in the late 70's.

I've never heard of that before. Why? What does it do for ice cream? This, of course, is my great spiritual question of the day. icon_confused.gif:confused:-->

  7. Yes. A believer was on his or her way to greatness when they could "lead" songs during twig. Of course everybody had to follow your lead. ....and to think, I actually liked to sing (ok, with me it IS joyful NOISE) back then. I remember when the songbooks changed. It was because we were using copywrited songs without permission or acknowledgement. Of course it was their fault we couldn't sing them anymore.

  8. BTW, they took down the site in the last few days (I was there on Fri and it was down yesterday)

  9. Garth

I remember you!!! I remember the class that you were in (I apoligize, but I didn't know any better). I was a WOW in Huntsville in Kevin's family. My name was Debbie Rosenburg.

  10. I was a WOW with him in Huntsville,AL during the 75-76 year. I think he was from NY state back then. Haven't heard anything about him since and he came to my mind the other day.

  11. According to "The New Foxe's Book of Martyrs"

    Quote:

"...Timothy, who was the celebrated disciple of the Apostle Paul and overseer of the Church in Ephesus until A.D. 97. In that year, the Ephesian pagans were celebrating a feast called "Catagogion." When Timothy saw their pagan procession, he blocked their way and severely rebuked them for their idolatry. His holy boldness angered the pagans and they attacked him with clubs and beat him so badly that he died of his injuries two days later."
