Ahhh. So Rome + Owen was "Romeo and"

and the net/ball deal was "let"

ROME + OWEN + JEWEL + LET

or

ROW + MEOW + ANNE (Bancroft) + JULIE + E.T.

I dunno.

Oh, wait "Romeo and Juliet."

:)

:eusa_clap: But soft, what light in window breaks!!!!! I thought the first clues were better, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

By George, I think you've got it!

I think the second set of clues better mimics the actual sounds, but both were well-conceived.

I'll post a new one later.

I totally agree. The first set was a bit harder and required some phonetic gymnastics. That's why I posted it first. The second set was a lot more obvious with very little room for mistaking the sounds in the title. A higher degree of difficulty is sometimes a better challenge.

I've always admired your creativity (and I'm not implying that you are God!) with these threads, but I'm not good at knowing the names of most of the people. My bad, not yours!
