For the search engine challenged, it's a number puzzle.

Picture a box. Divide the box into 9 equal boxes, 3 on top, 3 in the middle, 3 on the bottom.

Do the same with each of the 9 boxes, giving 81 boxes total.

The original box now has 9 columns across, and 9 rows top to bottom. (9x9=81 boxes)

The object is to place the numbers 1-9 in each of the 81 boxes (some are already supplied, so there might be 50 empty boxes left), such that no number is duplicated in any row, any column, or any of the 9 sub-boxes.

Easy.

This might be an example of a successful puzzle, but a real puzzle would probably be in any discernible numeric order.

You might start with this:

|-----------|

|1 | 6| |

| 5 |7 | |

| |6 | 56|

|---|---|---|

| 34| | 1|

| 7|8 1| 4|

|8 | 3 |5 |

|---|---|---|

| |6 |9 2|

|6 | | 3|

|9 | 5| 8|

|-----------|

And end up some time later with this:

-------------

|123|456|789|

|456|789|123|

|789|678|456|

|---|---|---|

|234|567|891|

|567|891|234|

|891|234|567|

|---|---|---|

|345|678|912|

|678|912|123|

|912|345|678|

------------|

Like I said - easy.
