Yes, he was the one exception I did, but that was a bit of an ambiguous statement. They were U.S presidents in the early to mid-20th century, but were cheerleaders much earlier than that, circa 1903-1930. George will you try not to get to fussy about that, you may make me feel like HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey... such as, " Look George, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over". So the score is George one and Raf one. I'm looking for two, but one more from the others that have not been named yet to win the round. Come on now boys, can we have a sense of humor about this. This is America. Home of the brave and Land of the free. Why so matter of fact? Yes, it matters, but can we just play along and have some fun while doing it? So, George was correct, George. I get the sense that you're proofreading me George. Is that the teacher in you? So, I made an ambiguous statement about the early 20th c. presidents. They would all be way over 100 years old now if they were alive. In fact, the other two were born in the 19th c. Does that help George? "I love this ground rush sheit man".

The original title for this series was "Please Stand By," but because the Cuban Missile Crisis had happened less than a year earlier, executives thought it might make people fearful of an air raid. As a reference to this, when this show would cut to a commercial, the Control Voice said, "Please stand by." When the series finale, The Probe (1965), was originally aired, a live announcer spoke over the Control Voice's closing statement about returning "next week at this same time." The live announcer stated that The King Family Show would be seen "next week in this time period." The regular Control Voice closing for The Probe (1965) was heard only in re-runs. Gene Roddenberry was a big fan of the series, being a regular visitor to the set. He would use many of the crew, cast, costumes, and props on Star Trek. George

"Granny, why are you making soap in the cement pond? We can buy it at the store!" "Store-bought soap? STORE-BOUGHT SOAP?? How long do you think 64 million dollars will last if we use STORE-BOUGHT SOAP??" George -

Gilligan's Island. "Human interest stories do not make the front page." (Not a giveaway quote, but obviously one of my favorite). *** "It's my job to protect her. Don't make me angry!"

I suppose it should have been obvious that cartoons would be as easy to make in a pandemic as without one, but it didn't really occur to me. And, uh, I hope you had a feliz cumpleanos. George

Speaking in tongues: A new angle
WordWolf replied to Raf's topic in Atheism, nontheism, skepticism: Questioning Faith
Forgive me for interrupting the thread. A) I'm also curious which 7 languages Allan speaks. Obviously, English is one. B) Allan, when you said "and witnessed some supernatural happenings at the time", were you referring solely to SIT at the time, or something else like healing or another? I was very curious. C) "I've heard people s.i.t. a mixture and mish mash of some of those 'human languages' in the same utterance." If we were rehashing- or I was still trying to make up my mind on the subject, I'd think you were making Raf's argument for him. (Back when I was agreeing with you on this, it would have gotten my attention, and not in a good way.) D) Isaiah 65:8 may not be the verse you meant. I can't find anything remotely resembling a connection in any version. E) Zephaniah 3:9 is the verse you meant, but other than in the KJV, it doesn't remotely resemble a reference to SIT.
