  1. I saw a report a few years ago about a similar type of deal, but it was in motels, maybe could be in even bigger hotels.

But anywho back to the report that I was reffering to. The reporters checked into the motels and checked out the beds, sheets, covers, matresses and also the walls with 'black lights'. What they found would make the person with the strongest constitution get sick. The reporters found bodily fluids on all of them.

Just remembering it makes me sick.

  2. Sounds like you've bee around the puddle more than once with the HP guys trying to get everything taken care of.

As for Antivirus programs, Norton is good but in my opinion leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when it comes to the vicious trojans and viruses that are running around.

A friend of mine that was a manager for a local Radio Shack in the town just south of where I live used to run Norton Antivirus, untill his computer started slowing down to a crawl. A friend of his told him that a virus or trojan probably got by Norton. My friend's friend suggested a free program called 'AntiVir', you can go to freeantivirus.com and scroll down to where they have AVG and the other free antivirus programs and click on the link.

My friend downloaded 'AntiVir' and did the update. Then ran the program. He had to uninstall Norton as AntiVir and Norton are not very compatable together. BUT, he did get rid of 3 trojans and 2 viruses that Norton didn't even know was there. Thats the antivirus program I'm running now on my computer.

AntiVir is a free german program and works really neet too. When you encounter a virus or trojan that is in it's data list it gives you an audable tone and a list of what you want to do with the 'little bugger' as i call it. I always tell it to delete the virus or trojan. That way it's not on the computer anymore.

Maybe some of the other people can help with other suggestions for a good antivirus program as well.

Take care and i hope you're able to get your computer taken care of soon.

  3. I was thinking back to 1980 just after the 'Rock' was over ( I went WOW in '79 - '80 ) and I was living in the Clinton, Ia area and hitching to the Quad Cities area to the limb leaders house.

While I was waliking along the shoulder of the hiway looking at the things that people throw out along the road in the ditch, I saw what I at 1st thought was a green piece of paper. But I thought that paper doesn't usually have a pin on the back to attach it to a shirt or such. I walked back and picked it up..........................and 'lo and behold was shocked as to what it was. A 10th wave WOW nametag. I turned it in to the branch leader for the Quad Cities area but never heard back about what happened to the person.

Like, what's the odds of finding a WOW nametag - in the ditch - in a town that I knew the only other 2 belivers that lived there and didn't know that a current WOW was even in the area.

I was wondering if I put the name of the person, and paw want's to hide it later for safety and privacy sake, that's ok. But it's been kind of bugging me some the times that I remember it.

The person was Geniveve Sorrento or a close spelling as it did happen 27 years ago and my memory on the correct spelling is fuzzy.

I was wondering if something happened to the person and if they are still in or out of TWI.

Any help would help clear up a lot of worry that i had at the time and still do.

    Thanks.

  4. Well, my time will be used to surf the net, which the innies are not supposed to do - according to TWIts in leadership. Knowing that it does 'NOT' lead to spiritual possetion or 'Debbil' spirit controll. And I will also be enjoying my free time knowing that i "DON"T" have to make a 'TWI Court Ordered' "Manditory" apperance at the festivities.

  5. I don't think it's Abi. It's got to be the "GREMLINS"!! It's always Gremlins ya know.

Or maybe Debbil spirits :evildenk: .

Anyone know how to drive out 'Spirits'?

  6. Hi gang

I recently got a P4 2.4 gig Dell optiplex GX260 Tower, model: DMH.

What I was wondering was how fast of memory modules it can handle, I have a 256 (266mhz) memory module that originally came in the computer. I got a 512 (333mhz) module to add to it.

It defaults back to the 266mhz module speed, which I know that when using 2 different speed modules the computer defaults to the slowest speed chip. Would anyone know what speed of 2100 DDR memory I can use in the tower I.E. 333 or 400 MHZ memory?

The processor is a 533 FSB 2.4 gig Intel processor. And also would i be able to upgrade to a faster processor?

    Thanks in advance.

  7. My Uncle (my moms brother), who lived in Northern Idaho before he died with cancer, was a JW. But one thing he didn't do was try to convert my folks and myself or my sisters into becomming JW's.

When JW's come to my mom's and I's apartment I may get a little carried away and unload on them. I remember 1 time some came around and wanted to witness, but i cut them off. I told them it was thier mind set of not wanting to go to doctors for a lot of different illneses and belive in the power of God that kept my Uncle from going to the doctor untill it was to late to treat him.

Not saying that I'm that way with all of them or Mormon's, I'm not really. I have a few friends that are JW's and Mormons. It's just the ones that want to try to push what they belive onto other people that I do get mad at.

Like thier belife in not getting blood transfusions if it's the only thing that will help a person. On lady JW said the reason they don't get blood transfusions is that the life is in the blood and that's why they don't get them, cause it wouldn't be thier blood and most of them don't belive in giving blood if it means saving themselfs.

  8. Are the Wooly Mammoths still around? It's hard to say. In the 1920's and 1930's they said that reports of a certian type of fish, that had only been found in a fossileized state, were myths. but a guy in africa found out that fishermen on a fishing boat had brought back one that they netted.

Now they have found out that there are several hundred still living in deep water.

Also in Australia is a tree, in a remote valley that is a closely guarded secret. is also a tree that was supposed to have been extinct for several thousand years. The remote location had keept it from being found untill scientists that were doing a study in the valley stumbled accross the trees.

So are the Wooly Mammoths still alive???? Maybe, mabey not. I woun't know unless someone stumbles accross one and brings it in for show and tell.

  9. I happened to find a picture of TWI's BOT playing horseshoes and thought that everyone would enjoy seeing it.

    :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

OOOOPPPS forgot to upload 'da pic and had to re-edit  sorry.

  10. The nice thing about some of them, they even have a lower rack that you can put the wood or charcoal onto to keep it an even distance from what you are cooking.

And with the right setup you could even have a roticery for a large Turkey, whole ham, or leg of lamb cooking.

Rainbowsgirl, your right, it does sound a bit like MacGiver would do in a pinch. I used to always watch the show just to see what he would come up with to get out of the trouble he, or someone else, had gotten into.

  11. With summer getting here fast, I have found a few places that have FREE BBQ grills.

    A&P

    Albertsons

    Costco

    Fry's

    Kroger

    Big Lots

    Brookshire's

    Lowes

    Safeway

    Target

    Sam's Club

    Von's

    Wagner Hardware

    Wallgreens

    Wal-Mart

    Win Dixie

The higer rack is especially nice for keeping things warm while you finish cooking your other items like steaks, burgers, hot dogs, ect..

Be sure to get the metal ones as the plastic ones as they don't seem to work very well and tend to make things messy.

  12. I have just found out about a new High-Bred Toyota truck that is going to be a real Mooo-ver in the auto world.

Don't knowwhat the price is going to be, but should be great for any farm user that want's one.

  13. I got out in november of '80. Got home in time enough for Thanksgiving of that year.

I still miss some of the people that i knew that were still in at the time, don't know if that many are still in or not. I know that at least 1 or 2 atill are. But anywho, it's all water under the bridge I guess. I'm just glad to be out. i still am in comunication with a good friend that took the PFAL class when I did in the service back in '74, we talk from time to time and remember what good times we did have.

But on the "Takit" band, I did have an artical from the Omaha World Herald newspaper at one time about when 'takit' came to Omaha. There was a write up about the band and who they were with and all. Also in the artical, I wish that i still had it, was a note about TWI not paying all of the costs and bills of using the Omaha Civic Auditorium for the production. Guess that goes along with what TWI stands for 'get as much money as you can and leave the rest hanging and run like 7734'.
