  1. I just listend to some of the songs, and I remember a lot of the songs being played when I was still in.

I know the Good Seed album "Fishers of Men" album, Pre-CD of course (LP version of course) being on sale when i was in yet. Predates me I guess as to the time period when i was in (mid 70's to early 80's to be exact).

And the Lisa (Lockridge) Tracy album is a reminder of when she was in the Corps the same time a friend of mine was and did the song "Fountain of Living Waters" on the piano.

But dmiller i forgot about the song "Sandles in the Sky" untill you posted it. I remember it too.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Now I'm getting a brain overload from all these memories :confused::confused:

  2. Considering the size of one of the WC classes (5 or so) souldn't it be more cost effective to have them trained at HQ?? doesn't it cost a lot to have maintenence people and food staff and the class leaders living at Gunnison?

Besides that, they could keep a better eye on them to make sure that they are getting the proper "training".

  3. I forget how many countries TWI used to "Boast" about having fellowsihps and classes in.

When 'ol Doc Vic was around he used to brag about how the Word was moving in all of the countries and how the people were 'getting blessed' on learning the word.

With the information superhighway it seems likemore people are in the know about TWI.

  4. "What Intellegence" is right for LCM. VPW did keep things moving and "sort of Interesting", the day that LCM recieved the mantle from 'Doc Vic" things started a downhill landslide bigtime.

All that I can see in Craig's upper story 'formerly called a brain cavity' is a few sparcly spaced spider webs and a whole lot of dust balls floating around, you know "shine a light in one ear and see the light at the other ear" at the other end.

    :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

  5. LCM losing his "aerobic points"??????????????

From what I heard here on GSC, LCM couldn't even dance his way out of a wet paper bag even IF it was tore and had a detailed map on how to get out.

Heck, all i heard he could do was "the back door shuffle" when they asked him to leave. Probably a good thing too, I heard that he was supposed to be a 'fitness trainer' , for what? Spitting in your eyes and verbally cutting you down.

I spent some time back in Emporia, Ks in 1978 - 79 and heard some of his early rantings and ravings. And that's all I can see he was good for in my opinion.

  6. 1st off. I don't think that TWI would let 'ol Loy Boy back as a replacement for 'Rosie'. She has had the taste of the "Good" life ever since she got into power at TWI to give the reigns back to LCM.

2nd off. why should they let him back and have the chance to get into more lawsuits and drain the coffers even more? If the ABS numbers ARE down on what money is comming in, it seems that they would want all the money they can keep in the accounts it is in going so that the Prez and the BOT can still keep thier lifestyles going and not run out of money.

So I guess what I am saying no such luck for 'Loy Boy getting back as MOG position. Back in TWI? Maybe, but not as the MOG.

  7. I am sorry to hear about Albert. I just read about his passing today here on the thread.

In 1979 and 1980 I was in Wyoming as a 'WOW', 1st half of the year in Sheridan, Wyoming. That's where i met Dan Hendrickson.

If anyone is in contact with the family, PLEASE send my regards to the family. I had the chance to comunicate with Albert a few times when the old GSC was still around about a year to year and a half ago.

  8. Paw and GT

All I have to say is ---------WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO --------- on the new look of GSC.

The remodel job looks great. And such style too. you guys have put in a lot of hard work and it shows in the finished product.

Just goes to show what a little love and a lot of elbow "greasespot" (haha) can do.

Thanks for the great work. :cryhug_1_::cryhug_1_:

  9. I love "How the Grinch stole Christmas" too. In some respects I kind of liked the movie version.

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year.

    :wave::wave::wave::wave:

  10. Hi Dot Matrix

When I went "WOW" in 1979, VPW did say to all of us "Men keep it in your pants and Women keep your legs crossed."

Knowing what he did now, it really burns my backside that he said it.

And with all of that, both of the gals (one of whom was the family leader) in my family did it anyways to bring in new people that they liked, just to get them to fellowship if the person was good looking and a little skittish about comeing to fellowship.

    So go figure. :( :(

  11. likeaneagle

It's like when the "Tickle Me Elmo" first came out on the market a few years back and were so d**n hard to get cause they had a shortage of them. People were nabbing them as fast as they came in the Wal-Mart here in SW Iowa.

I saw a flyer of someone that had 2 or 3 of them listed in a "for sale" ad for either $300 to 400 each.

To me it's all a part of what some people will do to make more than a few bucks.

  12. Looks like this guy has set up something very similar to TWI, (which is probably making VPW spin like crazy in his grave).

Also looks like his followers are stuffing his coffers full of cash. If they give an average of $10 to $20 a meeting, which if they pack the 500 seat auditorium every time they hold a meeting, thats about $10,000 to $20,000 a meeting. Plus all the other gifts that people are gving him, I.E. cars, estates, and one of the reports said one person even gave him thier business.

This group is going to make TWI look like pikers in comparison.

It also looks like he has a large female following too. And with him saying that there is no sin, whats to stop him from taking advantage of his female followers like another group we all know about.

  13. I loved 'Face to Face' and 'Turn Your Eyes Apon Jesus'. To me those songs are really great songs.

And BTW..............WHY dosen't GSC have thier OWN group???

Maybe if someone who is good with the writing of songs and someone else is good with the writing of lyrics could team up, then have a few people who live close together that are good singers, could get together and do an audition type tape. Maybe we could have our own little "Singers of the Grease Spot Cafe" album.

  14. To me a hug (from the side with the arm around the back and hand on the opposit arm) would be appropriate.

OR -- a full hug (short, IF offered first) would be appropriate. But what you have told EX is well beyond the point of the accepted "norm" of a hug.

This person needs to be told that his behavior is not accepted as offered by him and the way he is doing it. :nono5::nono5:

  15. I was looking through the pics of 'TWAP' class photos and in, Ibelive photo #40, a computer monitor and the left end of a computer keyboard.

Standard equipment for a 'WAP' class?

If it's hooked to the internet -- WHAT ABOUT THE DEBBIL SPIRITS??? :evildenk::evilshades::evildenk:

  16. I am still looking for an old 'WOW' sister that was in the second family when I was WOW in Wyoming in 1979-80. I think that her last name was 'Wolf or Wolff', she went by Tori but her first name was Victoria.

Someone here had gotten me her telephone number, which i have since lost  . I now have a tracfhone to call on and would like to get in conact with her just to say hi.

If anyone knows her and talkes to her from time to time to let her know that i'm out too.

    thanks :love3:

  17. I for one wouldn't mind for someone (not involved with TWI) to run TWI, have an election from all of the ex-members of a BOD.

THEN, have a board meeting to dissolve TWI forever without any of the former leaders ever starting up a group called 'TWI' again, give the farm back to the Wierwille heirs that they removed. Any money that is still held should be decided on what to do with it, charity, help for orphans, or something, as long as it will be used for something good instead of making some overbearing snot-nosed idiot like is in controll now, from getting rich.

Also, maybe setting up camp gunnison as a GSC gettogether area for in the summer, with donations for maintenence and upkeep of the area accepted.

But this is just a thought on my part.

  18. I seem to remember when i first got in to TWI in 1974, right after TWI had gotten the campus and was in the process of still fixing up a few of the buildings, that the word was that they were trying to offer accreditation IF all of the legal requirements came through? Meaning that if you went through "thier" classes you could get transferr credits to another institution for some of the classes.

Someone might be able to clarify this more and I could be wrong, but as i remember hearing about it that something came up and the accreditation aspect didn't come through or TWI was told that the accreditation that TCE had didn't come with the campus.

  19. One thing that i'm glad for is that everyone knows thier gender and doesn't have to get thier Birth Certificate or go to a plumber to check on the type of plumbing they have. Just kidding though on the last comment. :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

  20. Hi George

I appreciate the comments and TRUE, TWI was a a cult under all of the legal terms.

BUT, the main reason i started the thread was to look back on some of the things that some of us "old timers" can remember. That there was such a thing as love and some good fellowship before headquarters started getting into more of a heavy hand and controlling the fine points of how fellowships were run.

I got in in 1974 while in the U.S. Navy Seabees in Puerto Rico. Littlehawk, Gary Matsuk, myself and about 2 other ppl were in the class i took. Back then we all had a great time. going into San Juan and fellowshipping with the brothers and sisters there. The 2 pople in charge at that time in San Juan were Charles Henry Rixs and Ian Murphy. They were to me pretty nice people to have as leaders.

I also know that as time went on that things went sour with TWI, with all of the legal mumbo jumbo.

But my name of the thread was for people here on GSC to remember all of the good times and not so much of the bad that came later. I know that for me to remember a lot of the bad times, and belive me that i could tell some stories that are almost as bad as some people have told already it would make a person want to sit down and cry.

thats why i thought that some would like to have a place to remember the good times and even better friends from a otherwise bad time in thier life.

Hope that i havent made anyone mad at me or anything but was hoping to have something to help people remember at least something good.

  21. Hey Rascal

I remember the WOW training in 1979 (that was the year i was sent to Wyoming as WOW) and all the water and rain.

TWI having the guys in one area in the BIG top tent and the gals in another section. And when the water still wasn't under controll they moved us over to one of the storage areas that they used for materials and stuff with the landing on the top of the stairs that led down where all of us poor little WOW's were sitting where Dr. VPW used it as a podium.

I also remember going to the training for 3 or 4 hours in the morning taking a break just long enough for us to wolf down 1 or was it 2 WOW burgers and then having to go back for a few more hours in the afternoon for more training.

From what i remember it was pretty much repetitive stuff.
