  1. Thanks for all of the responses so far. This was just one more of the subjects that I sorta "put on the back burner" during my vey years. Anything I ever heard from anybody in the ministry during those years certainly did not encourage me to ask any questions about it!

Mass devil spirit possession did not sound like a very reasonable explanation, at least to me. Some of the "events" have happened in broad daylight over Mexico City and other places. Must be pretty powerful debils, make all those people see the objects and possess all the cameras and video recorders at the same time too. I think that explanation gives evil just a little too much credit.

Maybe it is some kind of natural phenomena, as of yet unexplained.

A more honest answer to "what's da deal?" would be "we don't know". I Rarely heard that one in the ministry.

Personally, I have never met E.T. But it is a pretty big universe.

  2. Yep. Ole craigers was gonna go stand in the crap (sorry, stand in the gap- same thing anyway) for the precious lil hearts of the younguns. At least that was the spin he put on it. Somehow, with Herculean effort, he was gonna stand between the kids and "devilish" influences.

Holy cow, unless these kids were really, really, "sheltered" from the evils of da debil, they were exposed to just about as gruesome images on TV and video games. The corpse kids in my area sure did not fall into the category of a protected childhood. They were free to do almost anything they wanted.

I think craigers privately probably went into a rage. Publically, he sure did not seem to be very calm about it. How dare they expose "his" kids to a lie? After all, that is what he and his predecessor believed- holocaust never happened, Jews lied, Jews really were not Jews anyway- that the whole thing was manufactured so that the Jews could get the money. Incredible.

This kind of crap coming from an "educated" man troubles me.

Personally, I think he was chosen to run the outfit because he was about the lowest brain of the bunch. Proved himself to blindly follow hair brained stupidity to the letter. Without his mentor, he couldn't just leave things alone, he had to come up with junk that was even worse.

Anyway, what would have been the big deal if the kids went? I think I know- they would ask questions. And the parents or staff would not have adequate answers. Just stupid stuff like chemical analysis done on bricks that were never even in the camps to begin with. Kids are pretty smart; most will not settle for stupid answers.

  3. What really got me on this is it seems that some people have seen SOMETHING. The usual off the cuff religious reaction is "well, that just cannot be". "We all just KNOW that there isn't anything else out there, I read it in da bible". Funny, I can't seem to be able to find that particular passage.

What about the angels? Where do they "reside"?

If the bible is true about angels and their existence, you automatically have at least one other highly intelligent "life form" out there somewhere. Perhaps there may be more going on than most religious folk are willing to concede.

I think a more honest reply would be "well, I just don't know". That would sit a lot better with me. But apparently some are supposed to be experts in all life and godliness. I have observed that a lot of religious folk feel rather threatened at the prospect of somehow having their belief system challenged.

So, what if there was an ET? How does that effect God's contract with man, man's redemption, etc.? Personally, I don't see how it would.

So, what did they see? "simon saw" ya know..

Dunno. If I met ole Rosie trotting down the middle of wienerville road on a cold, dark night, I may be convinced too, but I am talking about INTELLIGENT life here.

  4. OK.. this is an honest question, not intended for just plain silly or just plain weird, for that matter.

Discounting some of the drug experiences some of us may have had.. have you ever met "E.T."? A rather significant percentage of the US population believes in E.T., and a smaller percentage actually think they have had a physical encounter with an extra-terrestrial. Does anybody here claim the same (if you are willing to admit it..)?

If all I can get is silly answers, that would be fine too.

    Enquiring minds want to know!

  5. One little side note.. I forget where this was, but some Rabbi (I think anyway) said that we do not worship the same god that our ancestors did. Before anybody could cry foul, he went on to say that God really has never changed, only our perception of God. A not too many hundreds of years ago, peoples god made the sun move around the earth. Today, people's God made and arranged the laws of motion and gravitation. Quite a difference!

This is a pretty interesting subject you bring up. It seems that people's perception of God is based largely on their personal knowledge and character.

  6. Reminds me of when ole craigers went nuts hearing about the vey kids being scheduled to go to a holocaust museum. Wanted to "protect their hearts"- ha. Most kids have been exposed to even more gruesome images on TV and video games.

Look what craigers did with the power he got over a little, insignificant hole in a cornfield cult outfit. Just imagine if he had power over a nation.

And all of this nonsense like "The Thirteenth tribe", "myth of the six million" and other such hogwash makes this kind of thing more possible.

The worst evil that exists seems to like to hide behind a few not-so-verifiable "facts".

  7. Yep Uncle H.. I did a research paper in school about the holocaust, specifically why people deny it. I found that if the many of the deniers see concrete proof that the holocaust did indeed occur, the general rationalization is that "it probably really wasn't that bad. Hitler didn't kill six million jews, there were only no more that one and a half million".

One of the more "scholarly" individuals who's name came up (can't remember the name off the top of my head now) claimed he was an engineer. His "publication" boasted how he had found the real inner skinny on "da enemy". He had previously stolen bricks from a holocaust site and performed chemical analysis on it. Lo and behold, there was no evidence of prussic acid being in or on the brick. "Aha! Conspiracy!" he cried.

Funny, the stolen bricks were from a museum, a recreation. The bricks only dated since the sixties.. some other bricks that may have been actual witnesses had been submerged under water, for DECADES. And somehow he was "suprised and shocked" to find no presence of poison. The kind of "science" employed by other deniers was no better.

But his report sounded so modern, so "scientific". Some people probably still believe him. He did have a degree after all- I think it was in history. Must have not liked it, as he seemed to want to rewrite it. I don't think he ever took a chemistry course in his life.

Kind of interesting. I think a lot of people find the thought that some of their neighbors who somehow acquire power can be THAT evil to be a very uncomfortable, unsettling belief. Just can't believe it. Some seem to be willing to go to extreme measures to return to the nice belief that everybody and everything is so wonderful.

  8. My opinion of The Thirteenth Tribe is that it provides rationalization for old prejudices, this time, with more of a scholarly, intellectual demeanor.

That may or may not have not been the author's intent, but was the effect it had. "see, they are not really Jews. Now we have proof.." ha.

  9. I can see it now.. ole Rosie trotting down Wienerville road, and lo, a voice comes to her (supposedly) from heaven! (Guess all of those classes finally paid off..)

"Rosa-la, Josh my servant(?) is dead (or at least departed for now..) arise, and takes da peoples back over the promised bridge, for now and forever more".
