Bliss, this mirrors what we (from a different cult) go through in coming to grips with learning we did not have the truth, and in attempting to remove ourselves from the organization that we once believed to be from God, but is in fact all based on lies and the control of others. Amazing, yet understandable how it would be almost identical. Love and best wishes to you as you work it all out. I've been working on it for about 2 years now, and have had to put my life literally on hold while I decide what is most important to me and what I'm willing to lose and what I want to gain.

I've used Noni and this revived thread reminded me of the bottle in my fridge. It's great stuff. For instance, I gave a bottle to my great aunt last year and she took it faithfully for awhile. She is NOT the type to try to make you feel good...she's a good lady but she has always been on the blunt side. Yet she said that while she was taking it she did not have to use her cane. So interesting to me. I would gladly have given her more but she is extremely frugal and would not allow the expense. So I don't know what to make of it all. I don't recall what benefits I may have enjoyed while taking it. If they had been great, why did I stop taking it? I don't know. I sometimes can't stand the flavor. But today, it didn't bother me at all. I'm a believer though. The earth must produce a great many things that we would benefit from, I would imagine!

But I'm nothing like that. Anyway, no, I was not raised a JW; I started studying at 16 and was baptized the same year. The young pioneer crowd totally enveloped me and I loved my new life! Never could totally, fully, get into it though. Don't get me wrong, I "believed", was sure it was THE truth, of course. But so much of it always rubbed me the wrong way. Just wish I had figured it out before spending over 30 years in a near-constant state of dis-ease (read dis-ease) over it! But I'm not bitter about it and am not necessarily sorry about who I married (tho subsequently divorced)...just glad to be free of the control and the unreality! :)-->

Hi there folks! I wanted to let you know what brought me here, since I've never been associated with The Way. I've found that certain groups of people can be a lot of fun even if I don't necessarily share a common background with them. I've been on various ex-JW boards for a little over a year now and heard about the fun people here from one of them. I followed a link posted by Sudo on JWO and decided to try to get acquainted. I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 30 years, with time off for bad behavior. :)--> I have 2 wonderful children and one perfectly glorious grandson whom I just met last month in Canada. So life, to me, is now good. I look forward to getting to know some of you as time passes and in the meantime I'll enjoy what you have to say to each other.
