  1. Why yes I am having difficulty posting via this moniker yet I have no problem posting via another moniker (we do love multiple names don't we), this overlap seems odd to me but it is probably an oversight. BTW is there another reason for using the Gmail program to contact you guys or is it simply (as you stated previously) a way to keep permanent records of all correspondance?

  2. Belle my heads been going through a variety of emotions regarding this stuff, from outrage to disgust to compassion to gawd who knows, sad too...I looked at the picayne times photo section and it brought tears to my eyes, not so much from the devestation which was unavoidable but mostly from seeing the outflowing of compassion neighbors are showing neighbors.

  3. It's very important to stay as close to put as put can be under whatever circumstance you find yourself, refugees don't fare well in the grand scheme of these things, banding together with close friends or family is probably the smartest way to go in a difficult situation.

  4. I'm praying with you

We have been asked to take in an undetermided number of people. So far all the hotel space is gone and we are looking at other buildings to house them including a closed hospital. I am about 350 miles from the disaster and while folks are optomistic they are alos very concerned.

  5. James no the devil isn't to blame for bad weather cuz in the ol testament GOD hisself used fire n brimestone hail and rain, frogs, locusts and other assundry things to wreak havoc on his misbehaving kids. I think his strike the sinner dead is a fine example of good parenting skills and intend to employ them with my next set of kids.

Man is responsible for this disaster, him and him alone.

  6. If you got the joe you get to go

If you look at a map of the areas refining capacity you'll see that only half or so of the refineries lie along the coast so, judging from an odds perspective (or is that just oddd?) some production can resume immediately.

Production wells, I think they shut down 7 of them? There are hundreds out there if I'm not mistaken.

Pipelines...probably have sustained the worst damage due to shifting sands and the tides.

    Full tank of gas eh??

    LOL

Disconnect your cable and cell phone, check yer insulation, read Eliot Colemans Four Season Harvest and buy a sweater or three.

  7. We caught one of Katrina's bands and it spurred up a bit of a tornado through the southern end of Carroll Co and on up into Haralson Co, causing some damage and injury along the way. I think 30 homes and at lesat 10 chicken houses were destroyed and several folks were injured. Our Roopville residents done themselves proud with how they are taking care of their less fortunate neighbors.

  8. Ya know my intrigues got alot more intriguing today I may just head that way in my 225000 mile ford ranger (that uses no oil) n set fer a spell.

    Might be fun icon_smile.gif:)-->

Abi are you telling us that sushi is skert to pee in the woods? ROFLMAO!!! Better keep him far away from my meanderings then, I get up close and personal with bugs n snakes n such when I'm out wandering.

  9. I think some philosopher said trust takes along time to earn but can be shattered in an instant. The beginnings of my trust issues started way before my involvment in twi and run deep but I have found that I am not alone in this, I think we are all flawed in this regard and some folks never get past it, unfortunately.

It has taken me awhile to regain trust in my fellow man amd even still I keep one wiser eye open. I deal with politicians, wealth and issues that stir emotions so the chances for deception are high but I have a core group of folks I trust for advice and so far we've done some pretty cool stuff.

I think I have learned to trust the people and the process and am learning to make better choices of which people and what processes I choose to trust.
