  1. I'm not a doctor but I play one on tv.

I've had weird dreams and I've been in several therapy groups in which some believe dreams (and nightmares) are a continuation of a real life experience.

but what the He11 do 1 know?

    Hey excie!!

    I know!

  2. Belle I read your first post and my FIRST THOUGHT was apparantly revelation so you better listen!

I think they have figured out a way to get government grant $ and keep themselves afloat and prove to the government that they are indeed good citizens.

Ohio has gotten alot of grant money lately to mitigate it's industrial decline. Apparantly alot of folks in NK need to learn how to buy an auto, one would have hoped VP's presence would have spared them this humilating experiance.

  3. You better watch out for them Canadians, they are a troublesome bunch of migrant folks.

They came over here after the Mayflower so they can't be real Americans.

They supported the French and British too.

I'd be careful if I were you

    LOL

  4. Does Nova Scotia have nukes?

    ;)

I'll venture a guess that the exclusion is founded on the premise that during a nuclear or biological event, a motorcyclist will have a higher exposure to that stuff than someone riding in a car which (presumably) has the windows rolled up and the air turned off.

    Maine is upwind of everybody.

I'll bet we'll be seeing more of these exclusions.

The insurance companies are taking a huge hit with these terrorist acts and if the business was a bombed McDonalds in pi$$edoffistan or a hijacked relief ship, somebody is paying dearly for this.

There are other issues asides terrorism that insurance comapnies are slowly gaining a hand on. It's a matter of economics.

  5. It couldn't have happened to a better person imo. As far as his family is concerned, they benefitted from his lying and stealing, I say take their assets and drop them off at the nearest homeless shelter so they can get a good taste of how the other half lives.

  6. Pretty much pfdlight but it's fun anyway

I think one year we lost the kids, the next they got poison oak the year before that we were trying

    to figure each other out

I think progress has been made

If I were you I'd take the plunge and grab a tent n hook up with yer fellow weenies and camp out fer a few days with your fellow weiners

  7. I've met a few boundary jumpers in my time here and I just sidestep their .... up questions. I guess I'm not so enamoured by a persons question that I need to answer it.

  8. Scream pervert at the top of your lungs and point at the bastard.

Of course you couldn't shop there anymore without security following you but what the hell the dude was .... up for asking in the first place.

  9. Thank you very much

    :)

I spent last week with my daughter n granddaughter in Fla. We had a blast and I got sunburned.

We talked a little about things we'd avoided for some years and in the process worked through those issues. It was comforting to see that she is a very capable lady at the young age of 25.

I was amazed by my grandbabies climbing and linguistic ability. At two she is practicing words and sticking with it until she says it right and understands to one extent or another the definition of the words she is learning (to the point of being annoying sometimes). She does not mind telling you to go away if she feels that she can do it herself like swimming (moms taken her out in the ocean and on boats and has introduced her to blowing bubbles n dunking her head). She's also worked with her on sign language and C can use basic signs like thirsty, hungry and I love you :)

I think that is the greatest birthday gift of all.

The other stuff is just window dressing but I'll take it too ;)

  10. Any particular reason you chose 136? I hope you have a farmers market lined up!

I'm not so sure how well yer trimmed maters are gonna do, if they got all the leaves that sorta ends photosynthesis for the most part. You might try dipping the cut end in rooting hormone and sticking that end in the ground, stranger things have happened.

  11. I like the program , its pretty easy to operate. I worked with ArcMap and ArcInfo last semester it was alot harder but I can get a job doing it if I wanted. We downloaded and worked with ladsat and lidar and three diminsional images that you fly and zoom through like a bird, we took a topo map and designed a subdivision and plotted the best points for a new school for the county based on traffic patterns and proximity to residential neighborhoods. It's pretty amazing what can be done with these GIS programs.

  12. That looks more like a car than a gocart!

We had exposed chains and gears and unchartered territories...cliffs and sharp rocks

I doubt those wheels on yer ideal gokart will do more n 5 mph before melting that pic looks pussified

    ;)

  13. My cousin and I built several go carts and minibikes from found parts. We'd spend the day tuning the engine and then the next day racing. We had a blast

  14. Thanks Chas for reminding me of kids and the joys of being home when they got off the bus...

Thats another plus for the relaxed success program, enjoy the journey :)

  15. The Image:

My friend Craig. He was married to a fine intelligent woman, an obgyn nurse. He owned three restaurants, a duplex, two homes and a lake house. He was also behind a downtown revitalization project and was dabbling in real estate speculation.

    Thw Truth:

He also had a cocaine addiction.

    He died last year.

    My Facts:

Craig was a caring kind man. He assisted restaurants to open up in the downtown area and was a great influence in revitatlising the square. He helped student wait staff make the right connections and occasionally bailed an employee out of jail. A few months before he died he chartered a bus to take his employee's to an Allman Bro's concert, replete with kegs and a smoking room.

During the last few years before he died we talked about addiction, manic depression and domestic violence. We did not pull punches but I could sense, later, that he had made his choice.

He fired me a week before he died. I am ok with that, he had other things on his mind.

I think those events made me more aware that no matter how high a person might fly, they are still limited by thier ability to master their own demons. More than one person has been brought down by glory or greed.

  16. Interesting observations Belle.

I have to agree that the perception of success is overrated.

I know lots of people with (apparantly) lots of money who are not what they seem to be and I question their happiness as being two different people has got to cause conflicts and hurt sometimes. I have called them veneered people, folks who have a face on to impress the public but who in private hold many dark secrets.

I know several people who made lots of money through less than honorable means who have paid a steep price for their success. One family was implicated in the deaths of two teenaged girls (GHB) and lost a son, another's father and daughter were killed because they danced too close to the flame.

Others I have observed will go to great lengths to preserve their *social standing* to the point of getting on local prime time news and making fools of themselves defending a teacher who pled guilty (after a bit of arm twisting...) to sexual battery (after being charged with child molestion).

Others I have known have done some downright vicious deeds to preserve their empire.

I think in some regards the quest for success leads those with weak minds/morals/ethics into compromising postions.

I found myself there once, sorta stuck between a rock and a hard place. I chose the hard place and I think it was the best choice after all :)

    Success to me is:

Being comfortable with who I am and being able to sleep easy at night because my consious is clear.

Having a good relationship with my children.

Being able to talk with someone and look them directly in the eye while we speak and to do so with honerable intentions.

Working a job that challenges my skills. causes a generational change and that I have fun doing (finding/developing this ideal job however creates development and inplimentation problems which are not always fun)

Having a core group of friends I can trust to bounce my brain against

Being at peace with myself and others ;)

  17. Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE my new flash drive. The portability means I can take projects home and work on it (of all things) and it did wonderful in holding my powerpoint presentation. I'll be interning in Bowdon and probably doing some additional work for them. I suspect my little silver medallion will come in handy :)

  18. A friend of mine gave a talk at AA once on life events. They had a rough life and overcame many obsticles and had gone on to live a productive and dignified life. After telling us of the abuse and neglect she suffered throughout her early years and her self abuse later she said, "These things shaped me but they in no way define who I am." You could sense she had confronted her past and worked through some tough issues.

Part of what helped her work through those issues was the group therapy sessions (if you will) of AA. In there people share their experince strength and hope with each other in the hopes of a mutual recovery.

G'spot's intent from the beginning was similar, I know I was there. Alot of what you see posted here is a reflection of that success. I think the perception of us being the sickest folks in the world is wrong, I think what you see here is really what its like in real life, in other words we are the norm and not the exception.
