  1. We use GEICO and have been pleased with them.

Used to have Liberty Mutual. They were great, until we added teenaged drivers, then the premiums went sky high. But that was a few years back before TN required auto insurance (unbelievable, I know!), so many drivers were uninsured. TN finally got smart and required it, so all premiums have come down some.

  2. Will be glad to pray with you. As stated by others, God is interested in every detail of your life. Don't think He will see these prayers as trivial, nor do I think your request is trivial. So glad I can help you by praying with you on this. Keep us posted on the results!

  3. CoolWaters,

I think you and Oldiesman are saying some of the same things. You both agree that because of your exposure to twi, you learned things that benefitted your lives. You could have learned them elsewhere, but when you were seeking, you found twi.

Most twiggers day-to-day contact was with the wonderful, pure hearted believers on the field that strived to just love and bless people. But the central thing that brought them together was PFAL via VPW. And I do believe God’s hand was with all three sources. PFAL brought together a lot of good information, and disseminated it as one package, and, I, for one, am thankful for being able to get all that learning in one place. Not that it was perfect, absent of errors, but there was lots of good intermingled with the errors which still benefits people in their daily lives if they choose to heed it.

The source of the goodness is always God, but it takes people to do a lot of His work for Him. Those people are you, me, Oldiesman, and tons of others around the world, many of whom are here at GSC. And I do remember being taught by VPW and many others in twi, that the glory always belongs to God. (No need to re-hash here whether or not they were sincere in what they said, or said it to appear humble, etc., to bring glory to themselves. I don’t know their hearts and will not try to make judgments on that front).

And, so true, God’s hand is at work in many other organizations, also, that bring learning and enrichment to peoples lives. And I enjoy learning and growing from my exposure to them. Truly, God does not want us to go through he11 to learn about him, but any organization has people, and all involve some degree of “he11", because of the blunders, made innocently or purposefully, by those people.

Just like in most aspects of life, even when we differ, we have many similarities.

I was certainly not offended by your post. Sorry for those who may have been.

  4. Ah, Pirate, so sad to hear they're tearing it down. Have so many wonderful memories of that place. In high school, and in college, all us girls would rent a cottage down at Ocean Drive, aka OD. Would have to spend at least a few nights at Myrtle hanging out around and in the Pavillion. And all the great bands and nights of shagging away. Step-kick-one-two-three-back-step. Such fun!

Thanks for this thread and all the wonderful memories.

  5. Hello to all,

Just made it back from 12th and Vine to Cotton Row. Kansas City is a delightful city, and CoolWaters and Bowtwi are the perfect hostesses for a trip to the area. CoolWaters is better than a gps system at directions (when she is paying attention!), and Bowtwi the best chauffer ever (a real master at those u-turns!). All I needed to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. It is a beautiful city with awesome architecture by day, and a city of lights and gaiety by night. And what wonderful fountains throughout, clear flowing waters by day and lighted sprays by night. (Is that where you got your name, CoolWaters?).

Was such a treat to meet some of my GSC sisters and have a nice, long visit. We talked about everything from A to Z until literally falling asleep around 3 a.m. each morning. Really loved getting to know them heart and heart and face to face. Such strong, open, and honest women. And a hoot to be around. The only way to make it better would have been more girls to go "wild" amongst.

Had a great suite overlooking the pool, along with a parade of waterbugs! Did the KC stomp on them, though. Sleep number beds were quite comfy. We never even turned on the tv in the living/dining room area.

Food was delicious and so many places to choose from. Had all the steak I could eat, and ate lobster until the butter dripped down my chin! (Yeah, I see you posted the proof of that Bowtwi!). Would love to spend more time in West Town (is that what it's called?) in all the little restaurants, bars, and shops. And dance through the streets with all the college kids!

dmiller, would love to tell you what "Q" is, but it just wouldn't be polite for me to publish topoftheworld's insightful information. Ask her about it tonight in chat. Understand that she can tell about it so much better than anyone else! Learned about it myself for the first time this weekend.

The perfect ending was getting to meet Bowtwi's beautiful princess and her precious pup. Knew I was really in Kansas as they were as endearing as Dorothy and Toto. Alas, I'm not in Kansas anymore. But am glad to be back in the Memphis area with my family as there is no place like home, except GGGW!

  6. Both my parents donated their bodies to medical science. We did pay the transportation fee from the funeral home to UNC-Chapel Hill Medical School, less than $200 a piece, if I recall correctly. Much less expensive than a burial! And much more beneficial, imo. I also plan to donate my body.

  7. Tomorrow I'll be leaving on a jet plane! Can't wait to meet you outside the Northwest Baggage Claim area. Will be wearing white jeans and shirt, with a long sleeved dark purple shirt (tend to get cold on planes). What kind of vehicle should I be looking for? Flight NW5798 should be arriving at 4:20, just in time for 5:00 happy hour! Look out Kansas City, here we come!

    A GGGW,

    Suda
