  1. He is gone. Although gratefully I have his wonderful communication to enjoy and that was what he was offering but as far as here goes, he is gone.

  2. Dear (((((((Socks)))))), :cryhug_1_:

You will be sorely missed!!! Even though, I just read this thread, Your input is priceless and valued! You add a lot of heart and soul to Greasespot; here and on all the threads! Please do reconsider and continue to be part of the solutions and not part of the problems! You are a good man! We don't always agree but I respect you, both your heart and your style.

I read Excies thread as I do many others without posting on them. I hope that they don't erase it and people reread it more carefully and realize what really is happening in the posters hearts and work it out better! Do hurry back and GOD Bless You and keep You and Your Loved Ones!

    I Love You Socks, RainbowsGirl

    Hi RG,

May I clarify your heart on that bold faced portion of your post as I feel Socks was not a part of the problem in any aspect at all. And perhaps you feel the same way but the words just represented themselves a bit differently. I have assumed before when reading someone and later learned it was not their intentions. So I would respectfully ask you to help me out on this.

  3. Sudo,

When the original series was on my folks wouldn't let me watch it so it became a matter of hearing the opening music and sneaking into a position where unseen by my dad I could watch it and did so as often as possible. It was probably the more spookier than Night Gallery but it never caused me nightmares because I had my own version of nightmares going on at the time and they trumped that of television. But when Night Gallery came out I had just graduated high school and had been engaged for a year and soon to be married and it was more of a mental fascination to me than anything. Thus became my favorite of the two shows. I would love to see the reruns and may in time buy the series if not found.

Another show I loved was barnabasp.jpg and I hurried home from school to watch it, but again my folks didn't know that or I would have been forbidden.

    Heading out to church now.............

  4. Kathy,

Re:"The clue you gave kept a man up many an hour due to his own mind."

I thought they were 30 minute shows...

    sudo

I meant he was up many an hour due to his own mind. I read years ago that his own imagination scared him so badly he couldn't sleep.

Was it Rod Serling that used that opening?

I loved that show and wish they had reruns of it.

  5. Sudo,

No way, you mean that was Nat King Cole, gosh he must have been a kid when he sang that.

Your picture has one that was watched after when he was walking down the sidewalk because a car was coming around the curb.

The clue you gave kept a man up many an hour due to his own mind.

    Fun!

  6. Kathy,

Your list was a warm reminder of why some of us ( though very few) like this thread. I also find what Hiway29 finds... there's nothing on my TV's 300 channels. My default channel is the local news and then its TMC. I just finished watching Fanny And Alexander last night. How long has it been since we all knew where to get our kicks? Click HERE! and see if you recognize the singer.

I know that song has been sung by a few folks including Nat King Cole and Van Morrison but I can't place that voice.

Today one of my coworkers said she wanted to go back to the 60's and probably shouldn't say it out loud but she was thankful she wouldn't be around in 30 years to see how tragic things have become based on how they are today. So that prompted a conversation where the younger ones in the group said the world has always been like this but there wasn't the internet to publicize it like today. Us older ones held out that was a pie in the sky view and things are without question getting worse than they were when we were children.

And so this subject of nostalgia for some is a way of keeping yourself sane in some ways.
