Welcome, Lori! As Kevlar pointed out, the people here have had a wide range of experiences with TWI, ranging from not so bad to downright abysmal. There are all sorts of things to do at Greasespot, from doctrinal discussions to sharing experiences to prayer rooms to game playing! Find what suits you. Not everyone here will always agree with you, but there are always plenty of people willing to help! George

Yeah, old man! Here's to a great birthday and many more to come! Happy birthday!! George
  3. Okay, still a long shot, (Reds win two, Astros split two, Cards lose three). What happens then? George
  4. The Hard Way Michael J. Fox Doc Hollywood George
  5. I assume you're joking about Traxx. "Peacemaker" it is. Good to have you back, Sharon! George
  6. "Those nanoprobes you have scare the hell out of me!" Geroge
  7. I believe Sprawled Out was still referring to "The Changeling." I believe Hiway's clue is to "Miri," though there was another episode that featured children prominently. That will be my next guess if "Miri" is not correct. George

  9. Fine. The episode was "The Changeling." An old earth space probe had a collision in space with another ship and became this ultimate machine, "sterilizing" anything it considered less than perfect. It thought Kirk was its creator (whose name was really Korak, or something). Before it had a chance to "sterilize" the ship, Kirk convinced it that it was in error, causing it do decide to "sterilize" itself. As they carry it the transporter pad, Spock says, "Your logic is impeccable, Captain. We are in grave danger!" In the final wrp-up, Kirk points out that Nomad had raised Scotty from the dead (after killing him!) and that Nomad had considered Kirk his "father." So, Kirk jokingly bemused, "What a doctor he would have made! My son, the doctor!" Go, Hiway. George
  10. Okay, long shot here... What happens if the Reds, Astros, and Cardinals all finish with 82 (or 81) wins? I remember a few years ago when the Astros, Reds, and Mets all finished with 95 wins. Somehow, the Astros were declared the NL Central winner, and the Reds and Mets played a game to determine the wild card spot. Does it go by head-to-head victories? In that case, the Reds would win, having pounded the Cards and Stros during the regular season. George
  11. Denny Dillon (below) appeared on "Dream On" and "Dr. Science," not to mention a brief stint on "Saturday Night Live." I could have sworn that she once said she had been a "Mouseketeer," but I find no record of that in Google. Anybody know for sure? George
  12. Wrong again. (Really.) Though this episode involved an "ultimate computer," the episode "The Ultimate Computer" was about M-5, the computer that was tested to run the Enterprise. I have about one more quote, but I'll wait until lunchtime. George
  13. Darn! This was on my wife's "Silly Songs" CD! I think the title is "Junk Food Junkie," but I can't remember the performer's name. :( George

    Indeed, Babe! Happy Birthday!! George
  15. Nope, but thanks for playing our game! Let's make it REALLY easy: "ERROR! ERROR! STERILIZE! STERILIZE!" This, incidentally, was right before the "We are in grave danger" line. George
  16. Actually, the "hideous dog" line cracked me up so much in the theater, I nearly fell out of my chair! "I'm not afraid of the man who wants twelve nuclear weapons. I'm afraid of the man who wants ONE nuclear weapon." George
  17. That's what I say. I googled the guy, and though he's been in about a dozen films, I don't recognize his face, nor have I seen any of his movies other than "Clan..." George
  18. Dreamer, Don't feel bad if this thread doesn't get a lot of attention. For myself, I almost never listen to contemporary Christian music, so I would not recognize any of the songs. I imagine I'm not alone here, in this regard. Maybe instead of making it a game thread, you can have folks just give the lyrics (with title and performer) of songs they like, maybe with links to audio files. Just a thought... George
  19. I thought that this would be easy! Here's another clue: "What a doctor he would have made! My son...the DOCTOR!" George
  20. I was a bit too young to be taken by Annette's charms, but I watched it regularly. George
