    No regrets

Treat everybody the way you would want them to treat you. Without that much, it's really just another Sunday School lesson. waysider. Now that is something this simple minded guy can understand.

    Short people

At least when you sit in an airline seat for feet touch the floor. Hey tall guy, lean down here so I can look you in the eye. All the best
  3. HAPe4me, Thanks, I will do just that.

    I've been blessed

Yes it is. I guess you can tell my family in really important to me. They are my inspiration. I also wrote a tribute to one of my sisters. She's is the one who rescued me from a pretty bad situation. Her husband was also physically and emotionally abusive. She sacrificed a lot for me. Thanks for letting me share this with you. Virginia Mae As I look back at my childhood I've seen a lot of heartache and dismay Just when I thought that all was lost God sent me to Virginia Mae She helped me through some troubled times No words can ever say How blessed I am to have someone Who cares....like Virginia Mae The ultimate love is to sacrifice It's not an easy price to pay But that's exactly what she's done for me I thank God....for Virginia Mae This is not a story of pity I am proud of who I am today There could be no better Sister or Mother My guardian angel....Virginia Mae. ***Just a little side note to help us all learn or hopefully understand. Many years later I asked her about the physical abuse that I personally witnessed. And to my amazement she had some how blocked it out and did not remember. Her husband is dead now but strangely enough he still controls her. I want to help her but she is like the circus elephant that had been raised with it's leg tied to a log chain. And now that the chain is gone she still can't realize she is free. For those of you out there in a similar situation.. Break the Chain!

    I've been blessed

Fame and Fortune When I was a young man I used to dream a young man's dream My heroes were movie stars and those on the all star team But I married my high school sweetheart oh my what life will bring I had traded my aspirations for a little gold wedding ring As time went by and our family grew My mind often wondered if my dreams were all through But since then I've learned that even the greatest of man Can't compare to the riches of Gods's master plan Now I look at my family with a heart filled with thanks I now have more riches than all the worlds banks I could not be any richer and the real meaning of fame Is having a family who's not afraid to call on Jesus's name And now I stand before you with a heart that's overflowed Fame and fortune have new meaning now that I've been showed When looking for the treasures in life the best place to start Is to listen to that still small voice when it calls upon your heart

    Short people

Just checking to see if anyone can relate. Everytime we step off a curb we tear our back pockets off. Sometimes when we toot we blow sand in our shoes. People have to pick us up just to say hello. Randy Newman did write a song especially for short people though.
  10. Well buddy why don't you just tell it like it is. Do you think that there may be a little greed behind the GW agenda? I sure some have the best of intentions but you can bet someone has got their eye on the pie.
  11. Extremely valuable piece of work paw! Very well done. Thanks so much.
  12. The following reply is meant to help me understand and not meant to be contentious. If I were the enemy of God what better way to divert, discourage, repulse people away from God. People just become weary trying to sort it out and in order to protect themselves from being decieved they just become imprisoned in a world of doubt. People will not allow themselves to ever trust again. How can you love if you don't trust. How can you trust if you don't believe. None of us are immune. Thanks for the info it is very helpful.
  13. Thanks pawtucket, It is pretty obvious that I am a novice so thanks for that bit of info. I do not have a lap top so this is strictly for my home pc. Currently I am accessing GSC from a pc at work. I become addicted to the deserts at the cafe so I decided I better get with the program and get up to speed at home. I may be retiring from GM the first of July if everything works out so the work pc will no longer be available. The very best to you.

    Song of the moment

Food on the table By the Dillards Also known as the Darlin family on the Andy Griffith show I've got food on the table And love in my heart A real good woman and a couple of kids And a dog that thinks I'm smart The winds may howl and the roof cave in And the world might fall apart But I've got food on the table And love in my heart

    Grandpa's Mandolin

Now you're talkin! Doyle Lawson has bee a regular at the Mitchell Opera House, Mitchell, IN. JD Crow was coming but, he has not been there for the last couple of years. They have several bluegrass groups each year with some local bands in between. Thanks for the info.
  17. fiddlepicker, You are welcome to stop in anytime. The boys are 35 yrs old now and we are still singing that song. I've got a good friend who (in my subjective opinion) does an excellent job on the dobro. There are quite a few good bluegrass musicians in the Lawrence County area. There is a place just down the road about 15 miles that holds two annual bluegrass festivals and has weekly jam sessions. They have a web site if you want to check it out. Just Google Little Grantville Concerning Mike DeBruler, I knew he was going through some tough times. Like you said, He left quite abruptly. It would be great if I could introduce you to the rest of the family. You are welcome to play my banjo anytime you want to.

    No regrets

If you were looking for truth in people or organizations, you would find disappointment. This struck a chord.
  19. My current dial-up at home, never mind I can't come up any adjectives that can explain my frustration. For me to continue to keep up with my buds at the GSC I am going to have to bite the bullet and go with some of that High octane internet. From what I can tell there are a few of you who know just a little about this subject. Please advise. Price, dependability, etc. Thanks
  20. I am forever thankful, I am so glad that it all worked out for you So_Cal1. But my emphasis was meant to be on those who did something and not on me who did nothing. Please understand I am not beating up on myself but many of us are benefiting from something others have lived through. Just wanted to make it known that they are not taken for granted.

    Grandpa's Mandolin

Very cool song. The CD is actually titled Grandpa's Mandolin. If you can't find it let me know and I will make sure you get to hear it. Also has some cool crosspicking on the mandolin.
  22. When the grandkids come over my wife almost always fixes them a love shake. Very basic ingredients. Made strictly by her hands. Has mysterious healing properties. (seen em for myself) Available for big kids too.

    Grandpa's Mandolin

Sorry about the mix up, I went home and dug out the CD It was IIIrd Thyme Out who did Grandpa's mandolin. Weathered, worn but never frayed with calloused hands he gently played Gave and easy feeling to a hard working day. And times were hard as they could be He never once complained to me. He just let the music soothe the pain.
