Ok, the overwhelming bulk of this thread has been superb discussion about Charity’s topic. Unfortunately there has been a bit of distraction that has gone on and those have devolved into rule violations of personal attacks and name calling. Those MUST stop beginning NOW.
I have chosen not to remove or edit those posts, but if more appear after this warning those will be removed in their entirety and the violator may be subject to requiring admin approval for future posts here.
Remember no matter what we hold dear in our beliefs, or are affirming, searching for, or developing of those beliefs, we each are free to participate in any topic in any forum at GSC. The only restrictions are to stay within the rules and preferably have something to do with the topic as it will develop.
Disagree with another as much as you want, but do not attack each other personally. You do this by expressing your own beliefs or basis, not by impugning another’s character or integrity. Use the “report” button rather than attacking back and forth.

Ok, I have unlocked this thread again. I think the discussion should continue so that participants can clarify the points they are making. My only caution is to remain clear of turning it into a political discussion. Discussing how we raise children in families or as a society can easily be done without making it political.

Like Sunesis, I was in one of the early Corps, too. The Second Corps. There are lots of threads here on Greasespot that contain accounts.
I am also the author of Undertow, and if you notice in the book, I reference two other books that readers have found helpful. The first one is Losing the Way by Kristen Skedgell which is her true story of VPW seducing using her (mentioned above in Waysider's post.) I happened to know her back then but did not know this dark side of her Way experience until after we both left The Way.
The other book is The Cult That Snapped: A Journey Inside The Way International by Karl Kahler. In Karl's book, you'll find at least one woman's first-hand account of her sexual experiences with VPW and she uses her real name. She was in the First Corps.
Since leaving The Way and publishing Undertow, I now know of many women who were sexually used by VPW, because they either told me themselves, or someone close to them told me. I cannot/will not divulge their names. I get messages through my website on a regular basis from women who've been sexually abused by other Way leaders, too. It's part of VPW's disgraceful legacy.

I would like to add two things. This special offer for the year from the server people requires the full $400 be paid in advance, and is available only for a limited time. Time is of the essence. Whatever we each can muster out of our pockets ASAP is vital to taking advantage of the deal.
Further, and also quite important, it includes an extremely needed upgrade to the operating system.
Finally, there really is no reason Paw should have to bear the brunt of the operating expenses of this place at this stage in his life. If we can reach this immediate goal it will, for now, give some breathing room. Let’s do this!

This thread has walked a fine line since the day it began, but for the most part people stayed within the bounds. When you perceive (rightly or wrongly) that someone steps over the line, it is NOT necessary, funny nor wise, for you to leap over it yourself. You know better. Report it and move on.

There is a big difference between opinion pieces and either peer reviewed papers, empirical studies, or review articles…
Everyone has an opinion. The other types have much more legitimate research backing them.

Welcome back Ham! The forum, “Ask the Greasepot Cafe”, was set up to enable someone to ask a question about TWI without needing to register here. I think it was patterned after something available on Reddit or somewhere. once the question has been approved to post by a moderator, anyone can answer or discuss.
The other forums still do not need moderator approval to post, but DO (as was always the case) require the user to be a GSC member to post.
Paw still owns this squirrelly place.
