  2. Here's another stanza. I thought this one would have been easy. Last night I saw a cowgirl she was floatin' across the cielin' Last night I saw a naked cowgirl she was floatin' across the cielin' She was mumblin to some howlin wolf about some voodoo healin' Baby
  3. I don't know if this outrageous or just good ole BS, but it's kind of like Craig saying he was qualified to run a Fortune 500 company. At the Rock of Ages 1983 or 84, VP claimed to have invented the hook shot. Yes, the basketball move associated with Kareem Abdul Jabbar and other NBA greats. They brought some old classmate of his on stage to talk about how VP would stand in the corner and they'd pass him the ball and he'd sink it time after time with a shot no one had ever seen before. Just one more great idea the Adversary stole from an innovative believing believer, don'tchaknow. So sure Craig could have run a huge corporation...and VP could have been an NBA superstar if they hadn't been SOOOO committed to movin Da Word.
  4. But He can keep a secret. The Mystery was kept secret through ages and generations so that "the princes of this world" would fulfull God's will and crucify Jesus. In modern legal terms today we might call that a "lie of omission" or a "coverup". Surely that's not immoral...is it?
  5. So Johniam, do you believe all those things that were in PFAL? You know, the ones I listed above that have been specifically proven to be wrong?
  6. I keep thinkin bout the night in Memphis I thought I was in heaven I keep thinkin bout the night in Memphis I thought I was in heaven But I was stumblin through the parkin lot of an invisible 7-11
  7. Still SIT. So do I. That's why I said "half". Just in case you're interested in biblical truth--I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here--here are just a few of the provable errors in PFAL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ • King David had a right to any woman in the kingdom • The Bible always interprets itself, in the verse, in the context or where it's been used before • Of the five keys to getting prayers answered, VP said that in every record in the Bible where someone is delivered, these keys are present. Utter hogwash. • Receiving what you 'believe for' is a "Law" that supersedes the will of God. • The teaching about the difference between apistia and apeithia • VP's assertion that, before Christ came, people could only believe what they experienced by their five senses. • God can't communicate with natural men (he spoke to Cain regularly) • The body was formed, the soul was made, the spirit was created • No one in the First Century Church was baptized with water • Throughly and thoroughly are different words with different meanings • VP's definitions of allos and heteros (they're synonyms) • Pros means "toghether with yet distinctintly independent of" If any other word was used the WHOLE BIBLE would fall to pieces. rubbish. Pros is a preposition used over 200 times in the NT. • The "thief" of John 10:10 is the devil. Wrong. Check the context. The thief Jesus referred to is the collective body of false Messiahs--hirelings who careth not for the sheep-- who lead God's people away from God. Most of put VP in that category. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Those are just a few off the top of my head, but they illustrate the fact that what VP presented as the result of YEARS of painstaking biblical research was anything but. It was assumption and plagiarism. And wrong. This is off topic, so my apologies to the group. Just wanted to make a point.
  8. Bump. Seems some folks at the Cafe still haven't seen this page on the Menu. :-)
  9. Johniam, seeing as how at least half of what's in PFAL has been proven to be WRONG, I'd say that was more than "a tad hyperbolic". Which brings up the obvious question, why do you still value PFAL? Do you still believe most of what's in it? If so, you owe it to yourself to seriously reconsider that content. Here are a couple of links that may help you see this more clearly. More truthfully. Actual Errors in PFAL The PFAL Review
  10. Johniam. I almost agree with you. If you're saying that VP's teachings are fair game, but it's wrong to assault his character, I can --kind of-- respect that. On the other hand, there are many here who have been personally victimized by VP's character failings so to tell them that it's pathetic to disrespect a man they trusted, who turned out to be a hypocrite, charlatan, and abuser, is pretty heartless. I've no doubt that if you said that in a real ex way gathering instead of this virtual meeting space, several ladies would slap the sh!t out of you. Deservedly so. So you really don't get it. And I'm not sure you want to.
  11. The most outrageous thing I remember hearing was back around 1990 when Martindale started encouraging people to accuse someone of homosexuality based on a "genuine spiritual suspicion". What the he!! is THAT??? Back in the Advanced Class, we were taught that discerning of spirits is a revelation manifestation and if you receive revelation, you KNOW. If you KNOW, there's no need for suspicion. If you don't KNOW, then you're just thinking evil. I was floored that the President of the Way was teaching people to think evil and ruin other believers' lives. That's when I made the decision to leave. Of course Geer's assertion that anyone involved with Shenhoot's paper had to have been possessed was pretty outrageous too. Anyone who dared to assert that adultery is a sin just HAD to be pure evil, dontchaknow?
  12. Oh boy, my turn! "Marcie Dahlgren-Frost. Dahlgren is my maiden name, Frost is my married name. I'm single again, but I never bothered to remove the Frost. And I get compliments on the hyphen." • • • • • • • • What, did you have a few drinks this morning? Huh? Yeah, I think you did. What are you? Mother Cabrini? You never touch the stuff? Buck: No, no. It's just that I wouldn't be drinking if I was going to entertain some kids. You know? I don't have to take this sh!t from you. You know who I am? In the field of local-live-home entertainment, I'm a god! Get in your mouse, and get out of here. • • • • • • • • • Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face! Good day to you, madam.
  13. Oh. That would be Death Race 2000. :-)
  14. I think that's Gold Dust Woman from Fleetwood Mac's chart-topping Rumors lp. Nope. that's not it. (I checked after posting my guess) But I'm sure it's something from that lp.
  15. Although I haven't seen the movie, these quotes sound vaguely familiar. I think this has been mentioned on this thread before, or maybe the Flicks Remembered from Just One Line thread.
  16. Who's tripping down the streets of the city, smilin at everybody she sees?
  17. The guy sure looks like plant food to me!
  18. I believe that's the tagline from Brokeback Mountain.
  19. I think that pretty much sums it up. The people who still refer to him as "Dr" do so because they still believe what he taught and hold him in high esteem. Why they continue to do so is a matter for another thread. :-)
  20. Casablanca! Do or do not. There is no try.
