  1. I never took the AC...and I don't know anybody who has kept their material. (Oh sheesh...except...nevermind...can't talk about the debbil without calling it up...or is that magical thinking? LMAO! icon_biggrin.gif:D--> )

But if someone has kept that information and would be so kind as to post it...or, if concerned about legal issues, email it to me, I'd be greatly appreciative.

My email is in my profile...for awhile.

  2. I am working on a project for a magazine and would like to know if twi ever made a list of devil spirits and information about each (names, how they operate, what attracts them, etc).

Was there anything like that put out by twi? In the AC or something? If so, I'd appreciate that information.

    Thanks!

It's a normal part of working things out. Really. Dreams are exactly that: your inner mind working out things that bug you.

Since dreams are your mind working on things for you, you can control your dreams.

Before you go to sleep, relax. Some people go to bed with their minds all wound up and their muscles tight with stress. That's a good way to guarantee either nightmares or a sleep not deep enough to have dreams. Anyway, the point is to get your mind ready to receive your suggestions.

Once in a pre-sleep relaxed state, tell yourself how you are going to resolve an issue. For example, if you have been dreaming about being yelled at by a "leader", then tell yourself how you want to respond this time. Then picture it happening and let yourself drift off to sleep with the images in your mind.

You can also be aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. That's a little bit harder to do, but it's based on the same technique. Once you can do that, you can change the dream while you are dreaming.

Things that help before you go to sleep are aroma therapy, chamomile tea, sleep sounds, that kind of stuff.

    Sweet dreams! icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

  5. Mandii,

    I hear ya, girl!

It's really the epitome of self-righteousness to have all of the answers, isn't it? Worse, though, is to be around someone that thinks they have all of the answers. Remember when we used to be like that? ::shudder::

Part of what I like so much about getting older is finding out just how little I know. Each day is a new day, a new opportunity, a new chance to learn something. It's like being a kid again and each morning is christmas morning...there's always a few presents yet unopened.

I've mentioned the film series "Angels in America". There is a scene where the main character is in "heaven" arguing with the principality angels. Those angels put forth to him that he should be the prophet that brings to humanity the "Tome of Immobility" as a response to the AIDS epidemic. None of the angels had been able to find an answer, so they were proposing that humanity stop and die off so that things could start all over again.

So this guy (Prior is his name) argues that humanity will not stand still...that moving forward is what humanity does. Prior tells them that even with all of the sickness, all of the death, all of the pain, humans still choose life and will not be talked out of it. At one point he tells the angels, "And if He ever does show up again, sue the b*stard....He abandoned us!"

It is gobbledgook of the worst kind trying to make life fit into the logic of "this life is nothing....do everything hoping for the next life".

That kind of mentality is what gives people the idea that they have license in this life to be jacka$$es towards everybody. It is the mentality that keeps people impoverished and enslaved. It is the mentality that keeps people ill. Everything put aside for the "next life". Try taking that mentality to a financial institution or a doctor or a future spouse or a child...they will all see the insanity.

It's one thing to hope there's more...it's quite another to live as if what is here and now is nothing.

Really, when you think about it, it's the coward's way out. "This life is nothing, so I don't have to try to make it anything."

And really, when you think about it, the idea that the only choices are follow and die with a hope or don't follow and die without a hope...well, that's just stupid, imo. The bottom line is that there's no way to know for sure without first leaving this life.

Have you ever looked into "magical thinking"? Taken from http://www.webref.org/psychology/m/magical_thinking.htm

    quote:
    • The conviction of the individual that his or her thoughts, words, and actions, may in some manner cause or prevent outcomes in a way that defies the normal laws of cause and effect.
    • A conviction that thinking equates with doing. Occurs in dreams in children, in primitive peoples, and in patients under a variety of conditions. Characterized by lack of realistic relationship between cause and effect.

As I recently said in a conversation about how I've learned to take back my life, "I had to let go of magical thinking. I had to replace magical thinking with actual work...and trust that if there is magic, it's on our side."

To me, thinking that there's someone besides me in control of what happens in my life is the same as absolving me of all responsibility. It's the easy way out...until I find myself all alone and with nothing but a flawed satisfaction that I "really nailed the devil" to show for my life.

I know this, {{{{{ExC}}}}}. You're one of the folks who help my storms to calm. I hope you know this...because if you don't, I need to say so more often.

    And...

Mike can only speak for Mike. I don't know anybody here who has given him permission to speak for them.

You are very loved, sister ExC.

    PS...there's nothing between me and Mike besides what you see here...so don't be fooled...ok? {{{{{ExC}}}}}

I don't know how to cope with this sometimes. My own daughter is one of those who were hurt while I kept silent...at least until I burst and couldn't keep silent anymore. She's still so hurt that she won't let me close enough to even apologize.

I understand that, though. I've been that hurt.

Maybe those of us here who "share the pain" can figure out what it takes to heal up such things...

  8. Mike, being kind is not dependant upon who is kind to you.

    BTW...

This is a public forum. As long as we're posting here instead of in PT or via email, anybody can and will read and jump in.

  10. Well, Mike, I'll give you that going back to the pfal books will help straighten out the difference between TVT and what was actually in the books...

But it's never going to straighten out the 27 years I wandered around in the fog looking for love in all the wrong places. Just reading the material you sent me stirred up the "storms" to the point that I was getting physically ill. And worse, I was constantly referencing the bible because things between what vpw was writing and what was in the bible didn't quite match up.

I know that you put forth that it's because I have a lack of understanding. Fine. If that's how you want to see it, then see it that way.

There may come a day when I won't still feel those reactions. Maybe not.

Regardless, what I am doing for my life right now is working for me...and I have the right to reject things that don't work for me...and I have the right to do so without a constant barrage of insults and digs.

...You may be thinking of how David took the show-bread from the temple when he and others were starving.

With Paul, the non-giving to him that he deserved motivated him to GET A JOB making tents or saddles.

Such merging of items is very telling. Your reaction to Paul is more tdue to what others have said about him than what he writes himself.

Which is exactly my point...twi's broken logic...and is it still in my head? These are some of the reasons I still post at GS...to think these things through with the input of others.

I think now even putting it in PT will hurt you, so I will back off totally.

I do love you and don't want to see you hurt. I think you have enough to think about, so I'll just say "God bless."

When you feel ok to approach me, you are welcome to call and I'll be gentle as ever.

    Fair enough.

  13. Modern day trainers worth their weight in salt denounce any training methods that use hitting, kicking, closeting, etc.

It's been proven that hitting an animal teaches obedience only when the trainer is around.. It's also been proven that the animals who were hit are no good for things like police work, rescue or companion animals...because they eventually turn.

  14. dmiller,

I can't look for the reference anymore. Reading Paul's work makes me sick to my stomach...and riles up old stuff in me from twi experiences.

What I remember is that I was taught that believers were so ungiving that Paul had to steal bread to eat. Not sure anymore if that is even in the bible...

That kind of misrepresentation, distortion, PROJECTION, or lie (I have no idea which) ....ed me off no end...

    Mike,

If you want to go to PT to talk this out, fine. Nobody wants to watch us hash things out. Nobody should be expected to, either. Anyway, it's part of the rules to take personal things away from the boards.

Edited by CoolWaters to remove personal stuff that doesn't belong on the boards.

    Mike,

Either this is projection on your part, or you've not listened to anything I've said.

There is a huge difference between standing behind one's personal boundaries and being mad, hurt or whatever you think I am that I need to "cool down".
