  1. Mike,

I am done with your life's topic.

You have taken the very little bit I have told you about myself and my life and pummeled me into a mold and poured me out with very little thought or care about who I am as a human being. It's twi all over again.

Been there, done that...now I'm tossing out the mass of rot that spoiled the bath water.

    ?????????????

  2. Mike,

I am not insisting upon perfection in anyone. I am insisting that a person measure themselves by, and live up to, their own standards before they impose them upon me.

vpw did not live up to even the simplest of the standards his own "center reference for truth" provided.

He lied. He stole. He killed (even if it wasn't literally by his own hand, he taught things that lead to death). He destroyed.

By his own standards that is the mark of the thief...the adversary...the enemy.

And according to his own "center reference for truth", I had better not trust him to teach me anything.

    ?????????????

  3. If my chemistry professor had molested/raped me and/or many other women, would I toss out what he had taught me about chemistry?

It seems like a simple question when put like that, doesn't it?

But chemistry is pretty much a quantifiable subject. When he taught me that chemequat.jpg , I could prove that one way or another regardless of my feelings.

None of what vpw or lcm or billy graham or oral roberts or jim jones or david koresh or anyone else has taught about god and the bible can be proven one way or another.

It is a leap of faith to adopt anybody's teaching concerning these matters.

Which means that the character of those teaching these matters must be measured according to their own standards.

As has been pointed out here, the very thing vpw, lcm et al was teaching about states certain standards as to who should/should not be believed.

vpw, lcm et al have proven to be at least immoral and false prophets.

The bible itself exhorts one not to believe such teachers of the bible.

No amount of argument can change this.

    ?????????????

  4. To discredit a person...discredit their abilities...discredit their work...discredit their moral fiber...to do this is a weak tool of debate or "proof" in debate.

When dealing with way-brain, discrediting vpw, lcm et al may serve to awaken one from the "fog" of following such persons.

However, the very foundation of way-brain is "having men's persons in admiration because of advantage."

Which means that unless one faces one's own willingness to follow whomever one feels has the advantage, one will never be free from being a follower.

In other words, convincing someone that vpw, lcm, et al were reprobate does nothing to convince someone to cease being a follower.

To address the thinking processes that brought someone to follow such persons...now there's a strike at the heart of the matter...imo...

    ?????????????

  5. I don't post on every thread, either...but I do keep up with every thread posted.

    {{{{{All}}}}}

I hold every one of us here in mind and visualize each one of us being swaddled in blue and white light...the light of peace, comfort and healing.

I remember at Rome City, at joke time, we were not to tell ethnic jokes, but we could insert the term "unbeliever" and tell the same joke! All the old jokes about Polish, Jewish, African American, gay, or other groups of people were told about unbelievers. In the presence of the children.

    Exactly.

I started paying attention more in PFAL as soon as vp uttered the line, "You can't offend a dead man."

It was the permission I needed to fight off my family.

I have never quite forgiven myself for labelling my grandmother as "housing darkness" when she had cancer...and for telling her, near the end, that she was doing it to herself and that if she truly "loved god" she would "believe" better.

If there's such a thing as "going to hell", I'm not gonna go because of my "wrong believing"...but because of what I did to my grandmother (and others) from my high and lofty seat of being "right on".

    Sigh.

  7. Thank you, {{{{{mstar}}}}}, for bringing these folks to remembrance.

Often there are not enough blankets...and the blankets are often not enough. Rolls of plastic help in such temps. If a person has a plastic/blanket "sandwich" (plastic over blanket over plastic over blanket) it is like having an arctic sleeping bag. Rolls of plastic are cheap.

  8. {{{{{Kit}}}}}

My heart and thoughts are with you. You are such a gift in my life that I know you are a gift in the lives of many others. Knowing this, I also know that the universe has a place especially for you at all times...it just may not be the same place all of the time.

Something that has comforted me endlessly throughout the years...

    John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

    Love you lots, Kit!

  9. Remember to breathe....in, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Nice and slow...fill your diaphragm. As you breathe in, visualize yourself receiving whatever you need...as you breathe out, visualize yourself being rid of any hindrances, fears, confusions, etc. Breathing is one of life's most effective tools. icon_smile.gif:)-->

  10. Those who use the "word" to control (and you two or three or so here know who you are)...

All over the place these same people are admitting to their own lack of willingness to do something (as in when somebody admitted they didn't abundantly share for years) but then turn around and demand that others do something.

Just like in TWI..when TWI leadership demanded things...like...

    • "homos" be purged from the ranks...then turned around and placed a homosexual pedophile as a branch leader who eventually went to prison for his crimes.

    • wives submit unto their husbands...then turned around and told those same wives to turn away from their husbands and sleep with the "real" heads...the "leadership".

    • people give their lives to servitude in "the ministry"...then turned around and refused to serve.

    • people choose between "natural man" colleges and twi colleges...then turned around and put their own children in "natural man" colleges.

    • everthing be kept "in house" and that no man take a brother before a "natural man" court or laws...then turned around and used those very courts and laws against people.

Maybe this post should have gone on the what is way brain thread...

Now I get what's going on with you, OM...

  12. Rascal,

One of the things I'm enjoying the most about life without patriarchal dogma is that I determine how my life is going to be lived...not my husband, not "leadership", not anybody else.

The day I looked my husband in the eye and said, "Look, bubba, you've not been so good about running your own life, I'm taking mine back...and I don't give a flying f***** what 'the word' has to say about your so-called 'head of household', either."...well, that was day to remember!

  13. Vickles,

Yes, it is a difficult place in people's heads after twi. It would certainly have to be only a suggestion offered as a resource option.

What I was thinking was that it would be a mistake to carry people financially for more than a couple or so weeks because that would simply cause a transfer of dependency from twi to whoever was helping the people.

    *********************

    PapaJohn,

The discussion so far has been mostly about actual living arrangements to help people for anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months.

Quite frankly, I don't know many people who could afford the financial responsibility without help.

If there are people who can, or if the goal is to simply get people from point A to point B, then perhaps what needs to be done is simply gathering those names on a list, have one contact person with that list, and somehow getting that contact person's name/info out to those leaving twi...and this talk of a 501©3 or of safe homes or whatever would be pointless.
