  1. BZZT ! Can't link from Top Secret to Peter Cushing to Top Secret. You do, however, know 2 other movies he was in, judging from your last post.
  2. "Beyond the Palace, hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard. Girls comb their hair in rear-view mirrors, and the boys try to look so hard. The amusement park rises bold and stark, kids are huddled on the beach in a mist. I wanna die with you, Wendy, on the streets tonight in an everlasting kiss." "The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last-chance power drive. Everybody's out on the run tonight, but there's no place left to hide. Together, Wendy, we can live with the sadness I'll love you with all the madness in my soul. Oh, someday, girl, I don't know when, We're gonna get to that place where we really wanna go And we'll walk in the sun But 'til then tramps like us"
  3. Margot Robbie Viola Davis Cara Delevingne Jared Leto Will Smith Ben Affleck
  4. Animated shows. Answer either to take the round. A) "It stinks!" B) "SPOON!"
  5. Margot Robbie Viola Davis Cara Delevingne
  6. Ok, same artist again, different song. "Beyond the Palace, hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard. Girls comb their hair in rear-view mirrors, and the boys try to look so hard. The amusement park rises bold and stark, kids are huddled on the beach in a mist. I wanna die with you, Wendy, on the streets tonight in an everlasting kiss."
  7. "Leave now? In our moment of triumph? I think you severely overestimate their chances!"
  8. I was introduced to him as a kid, since he was in a very famous movie in the 1970s. He's been in at least 2 more that I know of, one of which was "Top Secret!" The other has no other actors of renown. ("The Beast Must Die!", a werewolf whodunit, complete with a pause to let you try to guess the killer before the movie shows you.)
  9. "Now, I know your mama, she don't like me, 'cause I play in a rock and roll band. And I know your daddy, he don't dig me, but he never did understand. Your papa lowered the boom, he locked you in your room-- I'm comin' to lend a hand. I'm comin' to liberate you, confiscate you, I want to be your man. Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny. But now you're sad, your mama's mad And your papa says he knows that I don't have any money Your papa says he knows that I don't have any money Oh, your daddy says he knows that I don't have any money. Well, tell him this is his last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance- 'Cause a record company, Rosie, just gave me a big advance!"
  10. Orson Bean was in the Rankin-Bass theatrical cartoon. Ian Holm played him in the LotR movies, and Martin Freeman played the young Bilbo in the Hobbit trilogy. Leonard Nimoy sang "the Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" some time ago. (I heard it in high school.) ("Bilbo, Bilbo Baggins, the greatest hobbit of them all.") " The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" inspired lots of books and things, and the entire Dungeons and Dragons game system, setting, cartoon, movies, etc, etc. Although there were a few name changes- hobbits became halflings, ents became treants, and so on.
  11. I'll switch songs but retain the same artist. I might be the only current poster who knows that song. "Now, I know your mama, she don't like me, 'cause I play in a rock and roll band And I know your daddy, he don't dig me, but he never did understand Your papa lowered the boom, he locked you in your room-- I'm comin' to lend a hand I'm comin' to liberate you, confiscate you, I want to be your man Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny."
  12. Wild swing on the movie, "the Green Hornet"???? Seth Rogen was in it and Cameron Diaz might have been in it. Olmos, I have no idea since I still haven't sat down to watch the whole movie.
  13. Tom and Huck are well-known in the US. This character is NOW well-known around the world- but most especially in New Zealand. Becoming that big a deal in a country is no short order, let me tell you. IIRC, this character appeared in 5 out of 6 movies (I don't think he was in the middle one.)
  14. Val Kilmer Top Secret! Peter Cushing
  15. "Difficult verses must be understood in light of the clear verses."
  16. Ok, name the role..... Felix Felton Paul Daneman Orson Bean Nicol Williamson Norman Bird John Le Mesurier Bernard Cribbins Michael Beatie Ian Holm Martin Freeman Leonard Nimoy once sang a ballad about this character. (I really thought this would be a short turn....) Those last 2 actors should really be the giveaway. (According to him, this character came out of a bag, but no bag went over him.) This character appeared in 2 stories, a stand-alone novel and a follow-up story. Those 2 stories inspired entire entertainment franchises, not even counting the movies that came much later. "Good morning!"
  17. None whatsoever. Waxit refuses to even consider whether the Sabbath is to be regarded or not. He assumes it is to be kept, period. The only point he'd consider is on which day it should be observed. He's arguing against something nobody asserted ("it's supposed to be on Sunday!"- said nobody), and supposedly looks more reasonable because he's not saying that. But as to which day the Sabbath is to be observed among Christians, the Epistles are rather clear the answer is "none of the above." We could discuss it in more detail. Sadly, Waxit's not going to participate in such a discussion, and probably would skip over the actual discussion, despite being most in need of it.
  18. Or you checked my last post for a clue, that might help. Failure's sting can be sharp.
  19. "Crazy Janey and her mission man Were back in the alley tradin' hands. 'Long came Wild Billy with his friend G-Man All duded up for Saturday night. Well, Billy slammed on his coaster brakes And said, "Anybody wanna go on up to Greasy Lake? It's about a mile down on the dark side of Route 88 I got a bottle of rosé so let's try it."
  20. Ok, name the role..... Felix Felton Paul Daneman Orson Bean Nicol Williamson Norman Bird John Le Mesurier Bernard Cribbins Michael Beatie Ian Holm Martin Freeman Leonard Nimoy once sang a ballad about this character. (I really thought this would be a short turn....)
