  1. I personally don't worry about the end times anymore. There are a lot of "doomsday" prophets who all told failed prophecies throughout history. The coming of Christ here on Earth 2000 years ago didn't quite meet up to the expectations of the Jews. Somehow, likewise, I think the end times will also be anything but what we have expected it to be. I personally no longer believe in the "Return of Christ". I do believe the warning about the anti-christ however and feel many Christians are in danger of being fooled by this character.

However if Jesus does return, he WILL NOT force anyone to pledge allegiance to him under the penalty of torture and/or death. I'd be very very careful of anyone who demands such at such a consequence. It seems to me that this is the Jesus that is being popularly promoted (you know, you either accept Jesus as your PERSONAL Lord and Saviour, or you're going to suffer for all eternity in the fires of hell!) A true saviour doesn't demand that kind of devotion and surely would never subject you to torture for non-compliance.

    My thoughts on the matter.

    Hi All

I believe Jesus never made a mistake because the bible said

"he (Jesus Christ) allways did the Father (God) will"

So if Jesus the Christ allways did what God wanted him to do how could he make a mistake if God can not lie

    with love Roy

    Roy,

It's not necessarily true that making a mistake sullys the fact that Jesus always did his father's will. If that is true, then perfect fellowship is not available since we are not infallable. Do you care to offer an arguement to the contrawise? icon_smile.gif:)-->

  3. Wishing you a speedy recovery on your leg injury, Danny.

I left TWI before the POP myself, and more or less faded into the sunset until the advent of the internet. But it was a long healing process from the filth that we had shoved down our throats. I think the next person who tries to preach to me might get a good whiff of mace icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

  4. Well, I believe that Jesus did make simple everyday mistakes like most of us sincere humans do, and he still remained sinless.

One verse of scripture that I'd like to point out is Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God".

That verse IMHO is a bad translation. The Greek word translated "sin" in that verse is hamartano, and should correctly be translated "erred". Hamartano has nothing to do with evil, rebellion or willful transgression against God, which is implied by the word "sin", but rather literally means "missing the mark". The context of that verse is simply showing that man is not infallable, and God did in fact create man with a fallable nature.

  5. Well, I'm sure I've said this before, but I'll say it again here. At least CES has never told me I would be a "greasespot by midnight" if I didn't join up with them and give them some sort of fidelity or allegiance. Sure, I don't agree on everything John Lynn says and teaches, and I don't try to browbeat him to subscribe to what I think the truth ought to be. But I'll take John over the mainstream preachers (especially those hateful HFBD preachers) anyday.

Well now Sudo, that isn't so bad, I do strange things with veggies sometimes. Ever put peanut butter on a celery stick? icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

Zix, I know what you think of me, and frankly I don't care. I have had a lot worse things said about me than what I suppose you think. You sure do set a good example for Christian charity.

It's just another pathetic troll for a fight. Still, the moderators have chosen to leave it, so, Chuck, you might as well come back and fling your filth here.

Zix, I really love the total free speech at JWO where I'm free to fling my filth. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

But if you want to repeat anything I post at JWO over here at Greasespot, be my guest.

I read through your rebuttal, even though it is a little hard to follow. I'm not even sure exactly what point you're refuting. Is this an attempt to clear your name? To further prove your point that the Bible is BS? Why did you write this?

Your major point seems to be that because we did not form ourselves, we also have no responsibility for ourselves, and are incapable of making choices that affect our own lives. Do you really believe that's what the Bible teaches? If so, you're right to dismiss it. It's nonsense. So why make a point that is so obviously ridiculous?

Laleo, if what I said doesn't apply to you, then there's no need for you to understand. I did not fashion the post for a particular individual. You get from it what you are going to get from it. I don't feel I need to explain the message nor the reason for the post. And no, I'm not trying to "clear" my name. There's no need to. If scum is going to hate me, then scum is going to hate me. If they liked me they wouldn't be scum now, would they? I am absolutely powerless to convince scum to find me likeable. The only ....lists i'm on all belong to scum. People of honor find me rather a consciensious person. In the live and in person real world, I have very few enemies. As for my friends, they are also aware of my opinions, and they may not agree with them, but they also know me well so they understand where I'm coming from.

You're probably right exie, but at least i know what kind of charity i can expect from those who hold the bible in high esteem. I think the spirit of TWI remains in these people.
