  1. wow, ... amazing what we were involved with. what a disgrace. thanks for posting that letter.
  2. Maybe when im 40 something... It's a part of my history. Maybe one day i'll go back for a visit, just to remember. i guess i'd have to call'em up, ask them if i can go (if twi is still around). see some of the ppl i knew as a kid, say hi (if they're still around). just for the hell of it i guess. not to talk about anything negative or stir $4it up in any way. I don't think i could ever go to a "twig"/household fellowship again though, that's a different story.
  3. CK, glad you guys had a good time. are you going to start going to a fellowship, or take twi's new class?
  4. ok, but hows the weed in new knoxville? :-)
  5. Oldies, I see your point. Its a good one. I agree. They aren't "heros". However, it is my beleif that IF they had not taken LCM to court LCM would STILL be in charge. I am thankfull for what they did because we (twi followers past and/or present) would have never known about it. I don't know the allens. I don' know their motives for the lawuites. But i know that the result of them taking LCM and company to court benefited my life. Do you see my point? They aren't my "heros" but im thankfull that they did what they did.
  6. my opinion: -im thankfull that the allens did what they did. -i believe they would have taken the case to trial if they believed it would have shut TWI down. -Getting LCM ousted was their prime objective. -if they had not settled and just gone to trial the results would not have been that much different. LCM would still be ousted, some dirt on RFR and other ppl "high" up in TWI would have come out. but only LCM would have been legally effected by it. TWI would still be where it is today. those are just my opinions, i dont know the allens. i respect all the other opinions on here. oldies has a great point though. It would have been very courageous from BOTH sides to NOT settle, and go through with the trial. 2 things happened though: 1. TWI offered a settlement. 2. The Allens took it. or the allens asked for a settlement and twi said ok.. either way, TWI could have said, we want to go through with the trial because it was a ONE time thing, and only ONE guy was involved.
  7. Winnings? Is that whats its called? I'm not sure if they donated to charity or not. You were asking right? I don't think they have to tell anyone what they did with it. They probably donated a solid percentage to Uncle Sam and the War vs Iraq though.
  8. there is a difference between God forgiving man, and man forgiving man.
  9. lol what a joke, all talk... take some if you need some, they sure deviated from that philosophy. it became, if you need some, give more or god won't spit in your direction.
  10. Ex, I posted this not even thinking about what OTHERS went through. And when you wrote what you wrote it hit me hard. Even though I was hurt, OTHERS were hurt even worse. To all those that were victimized I'm sorry I even broght this topic up. I hope it didn't frustrate you to see some dude whining (selfishly) about how he wanted to be able to forgive the guy that preyed on them. Much respect to the victims. I wish i could do something to help justice be served, or help them in recovery. I need to be less selfish. Focus on the positives in my life, and look for ways to help others. thanks ex, from what i see of you on here, you are a good person. Helping others the way you do at your church. An "Inspiration" you are. Thanks to all those who replyed to this topic. Helped me see different perspectives.
  11. ex, you are right. im sorry i even broght this up... anything i went through is nothing compared to his victims.
  12. If he had apologized to us for what he did, i would forgive him. I wouldn't be in his church, or follow him anymore, but god damn it i'd forgive him. I'll never understand why he couldn't have given that oppurtunity to us/me. He even robbed us of the oppurtunity to forgive. I'm only saying this because i really cared.
  13. CK and Ken, i respect your opinion but I disagree. VPW DID have some great characteristics, and he was a great teacher. I'm glad you have made something positive out of your TWI experiance. I'm also glad you didn't have to deal with LCM. Many people on here had different experiances with VPW. I also respect thier opinions. I only remember positive things about vpw, and lcm. But i found out the truth about lcm. LCM was always very nice to me, he was a great guy to hang around, I miss him as a friend. But i know the things he did were evil. Its so tough because i love god so much, and to see the people that taught me so much be exposed for being evil really hurt my heart. just a couple of thoughts i had, take care guys, and good luck.
  14. LMAO!!! Hey mark, try www.prisonplanet.com its great.
  15. also, isn't it interesting that LCM was NEVER disciplined UNTIL a law suit was filed. if it wasn't for the peeler's law suit, LCM would still be in charge. i would bet my life on it. also, why not ask your leadership what your asking here? tell them you question the character of the leaders (bod, or whoever). Tell them all your concerns, tell them you've read many things on the internet. see what they say. 5 years ago you'd have been Marked and avoided, see if they have really changed. its your life brother (or sister), don't take chances. good luck to you.
  16. I think the fact that so many covered up for LCM speaks volumes.
  17. jonny L. funny funny story, i used to tear it up with the manifistations. i was always told i had a "longsuit". I used to actually be upset when others were called on and i wasn't. i never showed it. but inside i thought, wtf is going on, i have a longsuit... a jackass was i.
  18. its a wonderfull idea. can't wait for more.
  19. The "BUFFER ZONE"....? that's wierd. i don't think i ever remember hearing about that. I do remember at my advanced class (at indiana campus in 96) LCM played basketball one day with the students. That night he mentioned that he played ball and had a good time. He said that he didn't notice anything funny going on, that it was "spiritually clean out there". This was in reference to the guys he played with. Weird. kind'a like he was checking his buffer zone. he then said he has a huge spiritual radar so that if anything was going on (spiritually) he would have known about it. what the hell was he even talking about, was he concerened that they guys playing ball were getting possessed? I had no idea he was playing that day, so i chose to do some laundry instead of playing hoop. I'm a good player so i know i would have killed his team. he teamed up with a couple of my friends. I wonder what would have happened if i had beaten his team?
  20. 250 miles / 65 mile per hour = 3.846 hours of travel. Did TWI really make EVERYONE in the "250 mile radius" attend the STS every sunday? for the people in the 200-250 range that is a solid 6+ hours of driving.
  21. good point amigo. if your caught up in the tithe, you are in a cult. this is not to offend anyone. its just my opinion. the tithe ruins everything. again. just my opinion.
  22. my personal opinion of "the trinity"... I don't know. Dr. Gene Scott once said that he can't say. If he couldn't say, i sure as hell can't say. I always call jesus the son of god, because i read that phrase a lot in the bible.
