  1. Mark, great point. one time my mother and i were talking about this. She said that M&A was not always the best idea, only if someone was huring people. She said that there are some things that the church can't fix. People should go to rehab or somewhere else to get delivered. Her point was to use social programs where needed. because in TWI we didn't have the expert skill needed to help certain illnesses. and inviting a rapist to your house for fellowship with young kids wasn't something she would do. I thought she made a great point. I would imagine larger churches have the experts and programs necassary to help in these situations. But TWI did not. they just M&A people. Told them to read way mags and "get their heads into the word" like the way mag was going to heal them.... total joke.
  2. Mark and avoid is for people who hurt others. I always thought it was physical hurt. Rape, child molesting being the main examples. Funny to me how LCM pushed M&A so hard when he was the one who was hurting the people. And didn't twi shelter or protect in some way a known child molester? I think there was a thread on that somewhere. So you could get away with sexually predatory habits but you get the boot if you have to work on a fellowship night and can't change your shift, or you don't give more than the tithe. or the worst, if you disagreed with LCM/VPW/ any leadership you were bound for M&A status. a complete joke that organiztion is.
  3. ya, i feel for Leah and tim... great people. if i saw leah today, i'd give her a huge hug, she was a good friend. PIN IT PAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    TWI 3 & 4

24 hour witnessing?????? W--T--F??? Did you go to truck stops, midnight movies or street corners? This deserves a thread unto itself.
  7. Cosign cat, that was the main reason i left. the fact that the only reason any changes were made were BECAUSE of the lawsuit. If no lawsuits were filed. LCM would STILL be in charge, I put my life on that. And i dont know if DJS was in the way corpse, but the types of things LCM would say about people were horrible. He would cuss people out and talk about how they are possesed by devil spirits. It would make you cringe.
  8. im am pretty sure thats how that happened chasUF. I was really confused as to why he didn't have the announcment on a live phone hook-up. Even jimmy swaggert came clean IN FRONT of "his" people. That was almost as eye opening as the fact that he was actually having affairs.
  9. damn, if its someone you like, respond. if they are going to be a pain in the foot don't... there are a bunch of ppl still in twi that i like hanging out with, on a normal level. I just dont talk about ministry stuff, its actually great. But my friends that are still leadership are kinda hard to hang out with. They all want you back, want you to "fellowship" with them again. So if its a regular friend then i say respond. I dont like to talk to ppl about the ministry any more. Its so boring. Its almost like debating gun control or abortion or democrat vs republican... They want out they'll get out... with or without me.. only place i talk about twi is g-spot... its the best place... ppl here at least have an idea of what went on... except oldies... but even oldies knows that twi was F|_|(k3D up... he (she?) just likes to play the devils advocate (would that be seed of the serpant?)
  10. how can i forget, the harvard classics... ppl started getting into them after LCM's advanced class.. ppl who didn't even read them. they'd buy a nice bookcase with glass on it, and stuff the untouched H/classics in there. LCM wannabes were the most annoying ppl ever. dont get me wrong, as a kid i idolized him, but i never tried to be him.... i remember one corpse graduation, LCM had a gotee(sp?). Over half the guys the exact style gotee he did, and a bunch of them went by first initial Middle name Last name... just like L. Craig Martindale. we watched it on video, we were all lol'ing the whole time... One of my friends who used to clean LCM's cabin said : "If we put one glass out of order on a shelf he'd get ....ed." They then made the statement: "That man lives at another level, i couldn't live like that." They said it like they were in awe of him... of course my reply at the time was,,,, 'thats why he's the man of god" -i was so dumb.
  11. jesus cat, that lady was a nut... talking your kid into taking her down to the basement... then breaking your stuff.... whenever Rev. x-vp plaxx would come over we had to clean everything, like it affected his ability to teach or something. or if he found something out of order he would get ....ed. we had to be extra clean for leadership.
  12. light houses (kinda like the thomas kinkade stuff) and way prod cd's playing. plus something that hides the TV, unless your going to watch way prod or a SNT vhs. did you say way mags? song books on each chair. but never coffee, we never had snack or anything out unless it was a big event, we always wanted ppl in and out, unless they wanted to stay and talk about the word... hmm.. actually if we knew we were going to have new ppl we might lay some snacks out, try to get them to hang around.... BUT we always had to KNOW if someone new was coming, or else the TC would get irritated,, like if someone new was coming they had to prepare special... lame (damn catcup, didn't know mXXk waxxaxe was such a stickler, he always seemed so layed back. but i was never a TC under his guidance.)
  13. wait, how did it go again,,, 1. did lcm step down as president first for the research dept., then admit the lawsuit, or 2. did he admit the lawsuit step down as prez for the reasearch dept? i think it was #2... i remember a way mag article that talked about him being in the reasearch dept.
  14. not that it matters, but i wonder if LCM and the BOD's had a special ceremony to officially install RFR as the new TWI President. I wonder if it was similar to the one that VPW did for LCM, salt and oil and all that stuff... plus, I wonder if the BOD's or corpse or whoever was invited (if it happened) had to say "i will with the help of god"...
  15. i've recieve 2 pm's from you, i tried to reply 3x but for some reason my pm's dont work.. but i don't live in vegas.. hope you have fun :>

Maybe the Allens were not trying to tear down TWI. Maybe they were trying to get back a Craig for his wrong doings. I would be suspect of the Allens if they took ALL of twi to court and tried to tear the whole organization down when all they had to do was file a suit, take LCM out and settle out of court to cover the fact that they were unable to advance thier careers due to their twi commintment. I would have done what the allens did. I hate TWI as much as anyone. But i think that as long as they are within the law that they should be able to exist and practice christianity any way they want. Maybe the allens just wanted to "get in, have justice served and get out" And as far as mega money..... How do you know how much it was??? But i guess you would have done it differently oldies. What would oldies do?: 1. Never file the lawsuit, just deny that it ever happened at all. Convince himself that leadership was right and ask for forgivness? or 2. File the lawsuit. Ask a bunch of Ex-followers to give thousands of dollars to try and settle a case that may have lasted years. Quit his job, then start having to live off the donations by people who dont even know him, but only want to see TWI taken out. Then if TWI doesn't get taken out (OJ got off anything can happen) have to live with the fact that you wasted a bunch of ppls money. hell i dont know , neither do you,... we weren't in the situation. oldies i read a lot of your posts, your smart and have good opinions, but to say the allens weren't brave because they didn't do what you wanted to do is silly. You have to admit that it took a lot for the lady to come forward, and it took a lot for the husband to accept the situation and not go crazy. And it took a lot for them as a couple to stand up and be the first to really confront what was going on, maybe they didn't handle it perfect, but it was still brave.

    Seen this?

I remember Craig M. on a sunday teaching service saying: "you can't REALLY say your born again unless you speak in tounges." He taught that someone can think they are born again, but can't really be sure that they are born again UNLESS they speak in tounges. Craig never said that you HAVE to speak in tounges to be born again, although it was a little confusing the way he taught it. Maybe a fellowship coord misinterpreted it and taught that. He did say that if you believe jesus is god, you can't really get born again.
  18. Thanks paw, This Site helped me a lot. It helped a young man get over depression and move on in his life. i'm gratefull.
  19. BLISS TWI version of what you wrote: Proverbs 3: In ALL(every aspect of daily life) your(like minded believer) ways ACKNOWLEDGE HIM(God and the household, especially leadership, ESPECIALLY way corpse and MOST ESPECIALLY the MAN OF GOD), and HE (God and Leadership and THE MOG) WILL (absolutley) direct(its an imparative!!!) your(the believer) paths(now this is plural, so that is a figure of speach.. he already said in all at the beginning of the verse, so to put paths in the plural puts the emphasis on being in the household"... now, as silly as that sounds. This is a realistic example of stuff I was taught in TWI.
  20. Oldies: That is EXACTLY what TWI thinks... In thier opinion one should be almost an activist for the word. If that's what someone wants to do, then they should join TWI. Give up simple things like a career and owning a home. But not ALL of christendom has to be like that. Philip the evangalist is a perfect example. Not all christians have the same spiritual calling. If all christians were supposed to not have jobs or have any wealth then what would happen? I don't think there is anything wrong with being in TWI. But you have to realize that you are required to live their way and see things their way. I don't agree with their way, that's why I'm not involved. I've always seen TWI as a group that try's to live to a higher standard. They think they are "professional christians" or something. While this does sound appealing (to me at least). The practical side never seemed to workout. I never saw the benefit of living this way. I tried really hard. It just never worked in real life for me. I tried to "speak the word" to people. Tried to show them how debt would their your life. I was mean as hell to homosexuals and "homo-sympathisers". I went to fellowship 3x a week. I only socialized with "believers". I witnessed to all my friends and co-workers. I took all (i mean ALL) the classes. TWI just didn't work for me. So i left. That deep discontent in TWI is the same discontent i had before i left. I was trying. That just got old. It wasn't working, so i left.
  21. no longer VP... why not.. still at HQ? Demoted? Resigned?? Out???
  22. I remember LOCAL way productions, at limb meetings and branch functions.. we actually had a pretty good group overall.. they did all the songs that the HQ way prod would do. But sometimes we'd get pure $|-|it. Like one time we got a "rap" called... get your foot in the class. what do you guys recall from you local areas way production songs..

"delve into the word" imagine, we all, well i did, used to want to invite our friends over to listen to phone hookups. There is a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot. Twi isn't fishing...
  24. the pure genius of lcm being the lead in aos... i was 6 when vpw died,, i remember being very upset... lcm took his place... lcm was my vpw... him being on stage, in shape, looking like a winner really solidified HIS IMAGE in my mind... as the "leader" and "m.o.g."... i didn't know about dance, i just saw him as a guy who was bigger than the rest of the ppl, and he killed the devil spirits and the seed of the serpant... he looked like hulk hogan next to those other dancers... see, not only was he in my mind as THE teacher, he was in my mind as a "superstar" in my world (which was twi). it was really a nasty thing... just another way for him to elevate himself... then those teaching segments.. as i got older, i liked those also...
