Ok, so first there's Show A Then there's Show B, which spun off/is a sequel to Show A Show B has at least two "spinoffs" (let's call them C and D), ONE of which is either ongoing or recently concluded. We're looking for Show B. The only shows I can THINK of that fit this bill, although there could easily be a show I can't think of, are Star Trek and Law n Order. So it's either TNG or SVU. I'm gonna go with Law and Order SVU (which is still going on and renewed until the 3041 season, if I'm not mistaken. That's not a typo, but it is a joke).

I think I can see a murder from over here!

Natalie Dormer and Orson Wells played the same role?

All the other clues point to Gump, so I did some digging. Gump and Co. was published in 1995. The screenplay for Gump n Co was turned in on Sept 10, 2001.
-
If it is Gump, then that hint about the manuscript is wrong. The sequel was published in 1995

I rarely buy physical copies of movies anymore. VUDU allows you to convert DVDs to digital for a nominal fee [not so nominal if you have more than 100 movies, of course, but still, per film...]. Anyway, streaming services would probably qualify as its own thread. HBO Go is already very good and I hope the Green Lantern series is not yet ANOTHER service.

Misspelled but correct.

Free post if someone has one. Otherwise, I'll come up with something shortly, but don't feel obliged to wait.

Oh hello. Pretend the water is champagne and fill my glass again and again.

Am I? Ok. This actor or actress was in: Les Miserables (not the musical) Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Shine

I know nothing about the actors, but the details point to Gomer Pyle, USMC. The horrors of war not appropriate. Spun offfrom a popular show where he was only an occasional character (Andy Griffith) Lead went on to a variety show (Jim Nabors) Do the show without the lead (Mayberry RFD) Gomer Pyle, USMC. Final answer.

It's on Disney Plus if you have it, Vudu (which means you have to rent or buy it) if you don't.

Nothing to do with the shows themselves, but if you get a chance, Jeremy Jordan (Winn) plays the lead in the stage production of Newsies, which I believe is available on Netflix, but if you have to pay for it, I honestly recommend it.

Ok, there's a guy who was in Godzilla AND The River Wild who was also in Temple Grandin. So I looked up Temple Grandin, and the guy I'm thinking of is named David Strathairn.
-
I can see his face but I cannot tell you his name. Is it cheating if I look up the case of a movie or show I KNOW he's in, and get his name from there without confirming his filmography?

My last post was Big Foot and Wild Boy. I'm in no hurry. First one up goes...

Nora is, of course, Ray Palmer's real-life-wife. Kills it for me. She is gorgeous though. Anyway, the following comment is not related to anything, but if you had told me a year ago that the Godwin of Godwin's law would be one of my readers, one of my most loyal followers on Twitter and a friend on Facebook, I would have said you were crazy. But here we are.

For the record, The Archies was my guess, with Riverdale being the current series I referred to. Subsequent clue made it obvious (sugar sugar)

I will answer Monday if no one else gets it by then. And then if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

OMG, I actually know WW's!! At least, I think I do. There's a version currently on the air, isn't there?

Bigfoot and Wildboy spun off from the Kroft Supershow

Bigfoot and Wildboy Free post.

My apologies, gentlemen. I wrote the below right after WW posted his "A Few Good Men" alternative guess. No idea why it did not post. It was No Way Out Based on the novel The Big Clock, which was a movie in 1948 with the same general plot. No Way Out was filmed before The Untouchables but released after it. Costner and Gene Hackman were considered separately for the lead roles in The Fugitive. I could totally see it.
