  1. Thanks for all your prayers. Wanted to let you know I finally got a job. Doesn't pay much but I'm thankful to be working. Any pay is worthwhile and the mental challenge is so very welcomed. Working at the local police department and being trained as a dispatcher which I've never done. They think I'm doing so good they want to put me on my own Wednesday (GULP). I'm nervous as can be! But...I'm extremely thankful. Thanks again and continue to pray for ya'll.

  2. Will keep you in my prayers also ckeer. When I was selling cars, I got "let go" when new management took over because I was a female but they can't use that excuse to fire someone (first job ever in my life fired from). Used "lack of experience" for the reason as was first time I'd EVER sold anything and not "trained" since I'd always been an "office person." All the sales associates were shocked because I had just made top salesperson of the month. Go figure....But what goes around, comes around, and since the dealership let me go they are about to close their doors as they haven't done hardly any business since. Day before yesterday almost everyone there quit because the place as "died."

  3. MJ, I'm glad that you found work. I also have ventured out into other fields but to no avail. I've always worked in an office and I even sold cars last year until that job ended. I've applied for everything in and out of my field and still no responses. I'm not bound to an office only...and have no problem venturing out and trying something new - like selling cars - but no responses to my inquiries.

Rottie, Rockie and Ex - ya'll have my prayers too and thanks for the prayers from everyone.

  4. Please pray for me to find a job. I've never in my life had trouble in this area but have been sending out resumes since April and applying on line also. Not even one phone call back. We are hurting big time financially and if I don't find something soon, may have to go bankrupt. Thanks for your prayers.

  5. Just tell me how to turn of the notifications and I'll be happy. You can talk till your blue...or green...or whatever. I just don't want the pop-ups and e-mails anymore. I know there is an 8th Corps thread...husband is 9th and was doing this for him originally..just tell me how to turn it off please. Thanks.

  6. Thanks for the e-mail "notinkansasanymore." I made note of it to pass on to him when I talk to him tomorrow. Just talked to him this morning before I got on line. "One of these days" he wants to get a laptop ... but have to catch up on bills first. He's just been driving about 6 weeks after being out of work since last November. Carpentry work sucks down here. But he's a much happier camper driving - was getting too old for the strain carpentry was putting on him. And "excathedra" - no he has nothing painted on his truck. He drives for a company - he doesn't own the truck. And a Twig Hopper - I don't think so. Anytime he rode a motercycle he looked like a frog $%^&*$% a football and had to change foot gears by hand...lol.

  7. Actually he's driving an 18-wheeler with no dog (it's at home - 150 pounder--he always thought LARGE and bought in bulk quantities...lol.) He's been in Arizona 3 times now. He just recently quit the carpentry trade and decided to drive so that he doesn't have to live in a Winnebago and...so far...he's driving on the right side of the road. Send me your name and address and I'll pass it on to him. He's having fun looking up folks. My e-mail is: dbking98@msn.com

  8. Found the list...thanks. Geeze though...my name isn't on ANY of them. How could they forget me!!!! Arggg...does that mean they think I'm still involved or that their record keeping sucks. I'll chose the latter. Did find DeeAnn's married name though. Couldn't remember it for the life of me. "Price." Unless she's remarried since. Think I should call them and tell them they omitted my name? (LMAO). I left in 88.

  9. Dana King - 9th Corps - is traveling around the U.S.A. Anyone that remembers him and would like him to stop and visit...let me know so I can pass on the info to him. Thanks!

  10. Wish they would have made year books instead of those damn panoramic pictures where you need a magnifying glass to see anything. Hard for me to remember folks.

  11. Dana King (9th Corps) is driving an 18-wheeler around the U.S. Any of you that know him and would like him to visit you if and when he's in your area...let me know so I can pass the info on to him. Thanks.
