  1. Sudo,

Everytime I hear that tune it just pulls on one of my heart strings and I cry, what can I say I'm just a sentimental, mushy romantic. The card was pretty cool!!

Have a fantastic New Year, you and your wife and everyone else here at GS!!

My sights are set on having the best year yet!

    Wired

Thanks Ca Dreaming !! I'm using the wire to build the bodies of my paper mache sculptures. I needed some wire that is pliable yet at the same time be able to support approx 0-15lbs when it is totally completed.

  2. Hi there, to anyone who can remember......

Quite awhile back, I had asked here on GS about some electric hand sanders and someone directed me to little kits you can buy to do detailed sanding, places that are hard to reach. I can't recall what thread it was on or the name of some of the sanders recommended, if anyone who can remember or the person who told me about them, I would so appreciate knowing the names of them and where to get them.

    Thanks !!

  3. Interesting thread, but I'll have to say I beg to differ. I have to say I still think good customer service is alive and well today for the most part. Just a few weeks ago I was in at "MIDAS" getting my van looked at, and the mechanics found a leak with the power steering fluid, they told me I would have to replace this huge piece which would run me close to $600, they showed me right where it was happening and said I would need to get it taken care of pretty soon as my steering would start to go (safety issue). I told them I didn't have that kind of money to fork out and the manager who was there took me aside and said "Don't even worry about paying for it, we'll take care of it for you, I want you to drive out of here in a safe vehicle and that's what's important, so we'll fix it all up for you and you don't have to worry about paying us." Well I was totally floored to say the least!!!

I have to say that for the most part, people in the service department have gone out of their way for me, sure I have run into a few nasty ones, I don't know what it is but I get treated pretty decently and I'm so thankful, so take heart Dot, there are some real good ones left!

  6. I'm heading up to northern Ontario early tomorrow morning for a little vacation for 6 days, I'm going by myself and meeting a friend up there. Going up to hear them play and sing in a pub. I've never been up there so it's all new territory for me. I'm excited about the adventure and a teeny bit nervous, so those of you that read this, can you please keep me in your prayers.

    Thanks

  7. Ron, that would be an absolute blast down in your neck of the woods, the picture you posted has wet my appetite!! Thanks for the invite!! Seriously, I would consider being a part of it. I realize it's just an idea right now that the GS's are tossing around but if it was a go and DMiller wanted to drive down and needed a passenger to help out with the driving and the cost, I'd be game! But then again I've heard some pretty wild stories about DMiller and his driving with his instruments !! :wink2::biglaugh:

  8. I was just at the "Starlite Drive In" (one of the last few remaining in all of Canada) with my kids, had a great time and the movie we were watching had this song playing in it, by James Taylor. When I was reading your thread, Pirate, it came to mind..................
