  1. I think some of this was discussed earlier on this thread. Or was that another thread where Hope's amazing talents were discussed. Buck, like you, when I figured out who Hope was, I was thrilled. Her voice and music were fantastic. Do you remember ~ I Love The Lord (with all my heart) Just thinking about that one just warms me up inside. :D--> I think (if I remember correctly) when I first got into TWI, I used to try and sing and play that song on my guitar. Once in awhile, I'd pull out my guitar and play at Twig. I still have the first 'Blue' Sing Along the Way. Even if we were told to throw them all out(because of copyright problems they had), I always kept my book. I had guitar chords scribbled all over mine. 'til the next time...
  2. Wow! That is quite a Christmas gift (since your post is dated December 25) you have given us here at GS. Your story was remarkable. Anger is good. Anger is healthy! All part of that healing process. Welcome! 'til the next time...
  3. Buck: No, you wrote it right McCave. I think I was just having a moment back there??? I remember seeing him do that Mr. Sax Man thing. He added such a great 'jazz' flavour to their music. Your sharing about Dan Moran and your 'L.A. Sessions' was great. It was cool to hear about these folks and at least have some idea what they are up to today. So many of these musicians were part of our lives, and after '89 so many of them dropped out our lives. And, of course, TWI never explained their disappearance. Half the time, it was a year or two before you'd realize they weren't around anymore. That was so strange the way they handled those things in TWI. It's like they wanted everyone to think they actually never existed. I guess things haven't changed much. It thrilled me to see that they are doing well and they are still bringing joy to people with their music. Ted: Once again, your sharing moved me! I love your stories. Thanks for taking the time. Your bleeding heart fan! 'til the next time...
  4. Hi Buddy! Kevin McCave! Oh my lord! Now there's a name I haven't thought about for a very long time. Was it McCabe or McCave? Thanks Buck for the great memories! P.S. Oh my God, I started another page!! I think I have 'revelation' posting! 'til the next time...

  6. Hey, I just posted on Sudo's thread on 'Tunes'. And a name came up that we have not discussed here on our music thread (I don't think so anyhow). Since we are smack dab in the middle of the 70's decade and TWI music, I think it appropriate to give him an honourable mention. Dan Moran. I loved his stuff. The first time I ever heard his music was in 1976. Someone I knew who lived close to Detroit Michigan had one of his albums. It was great! I think Dan was from Detroit originally. Anyone have any added information? 'til the next time...

  18. In The Palm of your Hand (written by Ron Block, sung by Alison Krauss) If I could have the world and all it owns, A thousand kingdoms, a thousand thrones. If all the earth were mine to own, With wealth my only goal. I'd spend my gold on selfish things Without the love that your life brings. Just a little bit more is all I'd need, 'Til life was torn from me. Chorus I'd rather be in the palm of your hand, Though rich or poor I may be. Faith can see right through the circumstance, Sees the forest inspite of the trees. Your grace provides for me. If I should walk the streets, no place to sleep, No faith in promises you keep. I'd have no way to buy my bread, With the Bible for my head. But, if I trust the one who died for me, Who shed his blood to set me free. If I live my life to trust in you, Your grace will see me through. Chorus I'd rather be in the palm of your hand, Though rich or poor I may be. Faith can see right through the circumstance, Sees the forest inspite of the trees. Your grace provides for me. Merry Christmas my beloved Greasespotters! 'til the next time...

  21. Wow, those times must of been wonderful. What a great opportunity to bless so many people in TWI. I know I was always so tickled pink to get a chance to hear you guys perform live. My real dose of JN was as PFAL '77. It was electrifying. Music brain that I am, I always looked forward to the music more the the teaching. And, I always felt there was something wrong with me for thinking that way. I loved the bible, but for me (being only 17 at PFAL'77) the music was alive and exciting. Well, Ted and Socks, you did a fine job and should be commended for all the heart you shared through your music. It touched my life and I know many other thousands of lives. Socks, I thought Boz was a piano player. That's how much I paid attention. The album I loved of his was the one I think that came out in 76 or 77. Don't even know the title of the album. Songs like 'Lido Shuffle' were on it. I've heard he is now the owner of a restaurant in CA and sometimes performs there as well. The way you described him is exactly the way I pictured him. His personality surely came out in his music. 'til the next time... [This message was edited by A la prochaine on December 21, 2002 at 11:22.]
