What was that movie I liked him in? Oh, yeah. P C U Jon Favreau Iron Man 2

OK, I have another movie. This movie is from a famous director, and is a famous movie in its own right. The script was based on a novel, and the English translation of the novel's title is "Cold Sweat- From Among the Dead." This movie is largely set in and around San Francisco (California.) This movie had an alternate ending. As was common at the time, the European censors were appeased by an ending that made sure no villain got away. (It can be seen as a deleted scene in the Collector's Edition.) Two of the main characters are safe, and a radio announcement tells of the arrest of the mastermind behind the crime. It has been said that you need to see this movie at least twice to get it- once to focus on the plot, and once to focus on the characters and themes and so on. One criticism of this movie is the pacing- it suffers from a lack of explosions, fist fights, and flash, and the first half APPEARS to have little happening in it- the first time you see the movie. But if you trust that the movie earned its reputation and the director did as well, you can stick with it and observe the movie transform while you watch. Martin Scorcese raved about this movie. Among his comments- "As is the case with all great films, truly great films, no matter how much has been said and written about them, the dialogue about it will always continue." "In fact, it just stands alone - period. For such a personal work with such a uniquely disturbing vision of the world to come out of the studio system when it did was not just unusual - it was nearly unthinkable." He also praised the "astonishing" title sequence and the "tragically beautiful score." One of the main characters is seen early in the movie, in a high-rise apartment. It is his friend's apartment, not his own, and he is visiting. Otherwise, we'd have a rather curious question to pose to the character or the director.

I'm surprised it took this long, too. You are correct. George

The Torah to Revelation: The Mystery: The Rapture
revvel replied to revvel's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Because “pre-trib” contradicts Christ’s revelation of the mystery, subscribing to “pre-trib” creates spiritual blinders—blindsiding those who believe the “pre-trib” dogma—leaving them unable to see the totality of the mystery: Christ’s terminology. In His Resurrected Body, Christ said: Luke 24:44 “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me.” Why is Christ directing His followers to look at the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms? What did Christ reveal after His Resurrection and Ascension—about the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms—that was not revealed prior to the Crucifixion? What did Paul say about the “prophetic scriptures”? Romans 16:25-27 Now to Him who has power to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret for long ages past, but now is revealed by the prophetic Scriptures according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all the Gentiles for the obedience of faith, to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen. Why did Christ—from the right hand of God—direct His apostles to quote the prophets’ prophecies from Acts to Revelation? If you can answer this question, you will open the door to the revelation of the mystery—from Acts to Revelation. Peace. revvel - Yesterday

Sorry, I thought this was answered by now. These are from Die Hard With A Vengeance.

"Master-craftsman" A craftsman knows how (H-O-W) to MAKE it fit. Square peg, round whole? No problem. Once the craftsman is done shaving off those angles, that peg will fit perfectly, because it is no longer a square peg. Someone here once said four crucified is just an illustration of how it all fits together. Mathematically. Scientifically. Like a hand in a glove. It is an illustration alright. If you don't like what the text plainly says, because it doesn't conform your presuppositions, you can just change how the text interprets itself and, voila! It now says whatever you need it to say.

You are correct. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. Obviously, the long-running franchises have had many opportunities to make the World Series. Even the Cubs have done it at least three times. Still, even more recent franchises like Florida, Arizona, Toronto, etc., have made it. The Mariners, not yet. George

In recent memory, the Seattle Mariners have been near the top of their division, and now, making the post-season regularly. I'm trying to think back whether they've been to the World Series yet or not? This year, they came close. I don't think they made it to the World Series in their Griffey Jr. or Edgar Martinez period, so, I'm going with the Seattle Mariners.

I consider your heathen opinion! Having finally been released from my twi-brain prison, now it's clear to me that teachings like this are almost folly. All it did was help support unsuspecting sheep falling into the "VPW is a great master-craftsman of the Verd". LOL Seriously, the historical value is only one cross. Walk into any church today especially traditional roman catholic and only one crucifix is displayed for a solemn memorial.

One actor was the star of three shows, The first one had a different title in the US from its title in the UK. The second one had the same title in both the US and UK, and it was the US title of the first show. The third was never officially called a sequel to the second, but it was, for all intents and purposes. All remaining clues pertain to the third show. Throughout the show, the star is menaced by "Rover" (not a dog). The Butler (played by Maltese actor Angelo Muscat) never speaks, and appears in more episodes than anyone else, other than the star. The show was filmed in the North Wales resort village of Portmeirion over the course of a year. The star was inspired to film his series there after filming a couple of the first show episodes in the village. The building in Portmeirion shown as the star's house in the series became a gift shop selling show-related merchandise. Name the third show. For extra credit, name the other two. George

The wine vat and the chocolates line are episodes I remember, but was memorable about those episodes was the visuals, not the dialogue. Without "Babalu!" I wouldn't have gotten it. "Awww, Geez, Edith! Stifle!" George -
No. Wrong decade, wrong band. I usually try not to post much past 1985.
-
The first was when the Ricardos wanted to be let out of their lease, and became obnoxious tenants. Ricky did a band rehearsal in the living room. (The Mertzes sold tickets to it.) When the Mertzes got home, Lucy recommended this dance- the Mexican Hat Dance. Between the 12-piece band and the crowd doing the stomps, the Mertzes ended up with part of the ceiling falling on them. One episode had Lucy being superstitious and into numerology. She blew a deal for Ricky because it was a bad day for his number. She contacted the client, and found out he was also into all of that, and was looking to have a seance performed. Lucy arranged for Ethel to conduct a phony seance in their living room. For a moment. Fred pretended Ethel's medium's name was "Rhea." Lucy pretended to have all sorts of problems to get sympathy. When Ricky caught her, he had a "doctor" (actor Hal Marsh) show up and examine her. She had a fatal illness- the gol-bloots, which travels on the hind legs of the booshoo bird. She should be fine as long as she doesn't turn green.... The gang of 4 got a freezer, and bought meat wholesale. They knew how big a side of pork was (half a pig.) So, they ordered 2 sides (that is, one entire cow's worth of meat.) They tried to sell some of the meat to people to make up some of the money. In fairness, they saved a lot by buying the meat wholesale, but it was a LOT of money to drop at once, even if it was an entire year's worth of meat. The boys and the girls traded places to see who had it harder. The boys cooked and cleaned, the women went to work. Ricky planned to make chicken and rice, and have Fred bake a cake for dessert. Fred didn't seem to know much about rice. Meanwhile, the girls went to work at the factory, wrapping chocolates on an assembly line. During a trip to Europe, a director wanted Lucy for a movie he was working on, called "Bitter Grapes." She decided to go work in a wine vineyard to learn about the role, and ended up stained purple after a fight with anoither worker in the wine vat. But the director had wanted her to play a TOURIST. Since she was stained purple and filming starts tomorrow, he asked Ethel to play the tourist. If you know the series, any number of those episodes will ring a bell... The Mertzes with a chandelier around their necks, the phony seance to contact Tilly, Lucy and the fake diagnosis, Lucy and Ethel with a pram in a butcher's shop, selling to the customers, the ill-fated cooking or the girls working on the assembly line, Lucy fighting in the wine vat.
