Human without the bean replied to bulwinkl's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
My trouble is when I try to come up with this song, I keep hearing ~The Joe Jeffries Group~ song "My Pledge of Love" that begins "I woke up this morning, baby," which I just happen to have listened too shortly before waysider posted. -
Alright, initially it was an illustration about how you can try to communicate something you're sure about and still it falls on deaf ears. Next, came this: "I'd at least respect if you'd just SAY you thought my friend was a liar rather than the cowardly approach of INSINUATING it." Not really a nice thing to say, especially when it isn't true. But, I'm the bad guy for responding?

I am reminded of The Universal Zetetic Society of which E.W. Bullinger was a member. Bullinger was a flat-earther. (Knowing this can aid in understanding why and how an otherwise intelligent, educated man could be so stupid as to assert the easily refuted claim of four crucified.) Flat-earthers are a zealous bunch.
-
That's not what I was responding to. You can't go on a guitar players web site and insist on talking about bicycle chains. It's not the place for it. On this site, we don't discuss politics or promote conspiracy theories. We just don't. It's a simple concept.
-
You must have missed when he said I was calling somebody a liar. I'm sorry about...winning.

This is going to be a little difficult for you so maybe get a glass of water and sit down and try to digest. Building 7 wasn't hit by an airplane...huh? huh? No airplane. I didn't say anything about the two airliners that did things only maybe possible if they were piloted by a computer. I'm an agnostic about that. You know what that is, agnostic? And, what's all this about experts? Let's say there weren't lots of experts lined up telling us the official story is a myth, we don't question experts? Hey, if it comes from an expert, must be true. Oh but wait, that would have to be history's greatest psyop!? It's almost like you were trying to pass the Patriot Act; Install the department of Homeland Security; the TSA? It's like you wanted to invade Afghanistan; Iraq; Syria; Libya; Iran; Somalia...like, everything in A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm. Just sit down with a glass of water and think. COVID? MRNA? Anthony Fauci. Experts...?
-
So, is their newer stuff good? I still say sitting in the WOW Auditorium watching a dancing and singing show...there is much better.
-
Bro, I just tossed all my CDs. What am I going to do with vinyl!? I still say it's a shame all that good stuff is not up on Spotify- Christ is Coming; Accidentally; The love of God...

Might as well share my story; perhaps did years ago here it is again, briefly: Got off the Metro-North train at Grand Central from Poughkeepsie for my daily grind at 45 Rockefeller Plaza, about 5 miles north of the battery and Ground Zero. Walking to work about a mile away, nothing unusual. Arrive at the office and one of the partners of the firm wave me over to the television and says that a plane hit one of the towers. As we were watching the news report, the second plane hit...and we saw it live on the tv screen. It was astonishing. As we were talking about the first plane hit, we thought it was possibly an error. But after the second hit, we realized it was a planned attack. After a bit, I looked outside the window and looking south, saw all the black smoke. After about I think a couple of hours, they closed the building completely and evacuated everyone, and this wasn't the only building that was shut down that day. And unbeknowst to me at the moment, the city also shut down Metro North for a few hours. So, everybody outside had nowhere to go and literally were open to aerial attack.

We might be the rare ones but there is a lot that makes me smile. You might have memories or experiences going back to Haight Asbury? Regardless, I'd love to hear stories of the early days and also what made you leave and why.

It's much older. Some radio stations banned it because it references drinking and sex. That didn't stop it from getting a ton of airplay, though. -

Eddie and Donna ran a twig in Columbus, Ohio for decades. They were in one of the very first classes, in the 1950s. I personally knew them. They were genuinely caring people. I don't think they really knew about the depravity that was going on at HQ. Or, maybe they just didn't believe it was true. It's hard to say. I also noticed Ray and Vera Kaderly, from New Lyme, Ohio, are missing. -
JoyfulSoul, here's another potential jewel for you: https://www.amazon.com/Stevie-Love-Child-vinyl-record/dp/B00Q525DWC Looks rare... better snatch it up before I do. LOL.

You're right that's strange, they were prominent in the early years. Here's a book by Dorothy Owens: https://store.theway.org/store/just-the-way-it-was/ I never knew of or met the folks on #9 of the list. -
Right. Lots of claims by non-experts who weren't there and whose accounts contradicted all the official reports. I'd at least respect if you'd just SAY you thought my friend was a liar rather than the cowardly approach of INSINUATING it. No airplanes- despite people there managing to get footage of the impacts. No airplanes- despite people actually seeing the planes hit. People who weren't there say there weren't any, so the eyewitnesses and the actual footage must be wrong. I used to find that sort of disconnect amazing, but it's always been possible, and now it's even easier to have an echo chamber where all the voices agree with you, and all the dissenting voices never reach you. Facebook alone has a lot to answer for, there.

JoyfulSoul, thx for posting. Ahhh those memories... coming home from Amarillo Tx my first year of WOW, then onto Emporia for the 6th Corps. Lots of familiar faces to me here, and important to remember Ed and Marian, believers from the Bronx, at 13:37 carrying the load of toilet paper.

Or, you could read what I wrote. Buildings 1, 2 and 7 came down with near perfect symmetry at near free fall acceleration. I didn't say anything about airplanes. I didn't say anything about Gelatin's the b thing and cartons of bb18 fuse holders. (Google is your friend). I didn't say anything about the passport that escaped the crash and the fireball and was magically found in the debris after the the crash implicating, if you can believe it, 'Muslim terrorists'. Nothing about Art Student Spies. I didn't say anything about the High Fivers aka Dancing Israelis. Said nothing about Dominik Suter, Urban Moving Systems, or the ABC 2020 piece. Nothing about Officer Scott DeCarlo or the van load of explosives found near the George Washington Bridge. Nothing about Barry Jennings, William Rodriguez, Neils Harrit or Danny Jowenko. Nothing about the University of Alaska Fairbanks study... I have to go through that exercise from time to time and can't remember half. I just know I didn't say anything about airplanes flown by amateurs doing things a fighter pilot couldn't do. So, you just say it. If no one believes you...what? I'm still going to have my morning coffee.

I'm left wondering why Ermal and Dorothy Owens didn't make the list. -
BTW, George, you've seen the Bugs Bunny cartoon with Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. "HEY, GRANDMA! That's an awful big nose for you. TO HAVE!" That was "Little Red Riding Rabbit."

The second line is also from Dire Straits' "Heavy Fuel", but the first line is not. But I keep hearing the Dire Straits song when I try to name this one. -

https://allpoetry.com/The-Bridge-Builder The Bridge Builder An old man, going a lone highway, Came, at the evening, cold and gray, To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide, Through which was flowing a sullen tide. The old man crossed in the twilight dim; The sullen stream had no fears for him; But he turned, when safe on the other side, And built a bridge to span the tide. "Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near, "You are wasting strength with building here; Your journey will end with the ending day; You never again must pass this way; You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide- Why build you the bridge at the eventide?" The builder lifted his old gray head: "Good friend, in the path I have come," he said, "There followeth after me today A youth, whose feet must pass this way. This chasm, that has been naught to me, To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be. He, too, must cross in the twilight dim; Good friend, I am building the bridge for him." Will Allen Dromgoole was a woman who was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She wrote over 7,500 poems, 5,000 essays, and published thirteen books.
