  1. Hi Allen. I arrived at that conclusion by reading. Just reading what it really says. It says those people heard the 12 in their own language, right? So we know if they heard a different language than the one being spoken, then when PETER SPOKE, HE WAS SPEAKING A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE THAN WAS BEING HEARD.. If you dont buy that, fine. But when did Peter stop speaking his own language? It clearly says they heard Peter in their own language. Do you think they heard him for 5 minutes in tongues? Or maybe a half an hour, then everybody switched up? It doesnt say that, does it? It says they heard the Apostles speaking in their own language. As the kids say, I have to roll with that. If you don't, fine. Maybe you read in tongues too. Rachel
  2. I haven't read through the discussion on this, just the opening thread. But I ask all to consider something that was overlooked by TWI, and most other churches/religions/teacing ministries about speaking in tongues. I do remember a few years back I shared this same thing, and was heckled or ignored, but no matter, I will share it again. On the Feast of In-Gathering, the 50th day after The Feast of Unleavened Bread, when Peter "Spoke in Tongues" he was speaking his own language. The 11 with him were speaking their own language. The miracle was that the people heard them in their native language. All of Peter's lesson that day as recorded in Act 2 was him speaking in tounges...or rather, the listeners hearing him in their language. If we keep that in mind, our perception and understanding might expand just a bit. Rachel
  3. I think the last trumpet is not the Feast of Trumpets, but the last trumpet in Revelation. The Feast is a memorial to what is coming....The Last trumpet being blown can be found in Revelation. Rachel
  4. Christian Identity. White Nazi-Like So called Christians. They believe all other races are impure and will be exterminated, Hopefully by them. Rachel
  5. O Brother, Where Art Thou. Rachel
  6. Mark, I don't care what you think about my beliefs. You are not to bright, are you? Rachel Sirguessalot.... Is that you or Daniel Jackson? Save the clocktower, and Daniel Jackson. Rachel
  7. Most people don't come up with theories on their own. I was just asking you a question, not trying to raise your blood pressure. Mark, I have found that most eway people, that were taught the keys to biblical research, very very very rarely come up with any theories about scripture on their own. We were taught very sound research techniques, but we still don't use them. Most people I know that are xway still run with the pack, of xway believers, teaching recycled way doctrine. We were taught that we were literally born again when we confessed Rom.10:9,10. No one ever pointed out the key word in these verses...SHALL. Not now, but later, it implies something that hasn't happened yet. Jesus is the firstfruits from the dead...His mortal body was changed to a spiritual body, right? Has this happened to you? Me niether. This sounds like a new birth to me. Not accepting Jesus, I can unaccept Him whenever I want to...So I havent been changed...I still am aging, have to bathe, eat and sleep. Same Old, right? When He was raised, He was literally BORN AGAIN.... That which is born of the flesh is flesh, right? Can you return your mother's womb and be born again, Mark? No, me neither. So, if I get born again, it's not going to be by flesh, remember that which is born of the flesh is flesh....It has to be spirit. When I get a spiritual body...I will be born of the spirit, again. This time I will be a spirit body. So, where did I get this weird foot doctrine, Mark? You tell me...I just made it up? Or I read MY bible and let the holy spirit show me something, instead of all these way knockoffs. Incredible you say? You disagree? That's OK....You cany put new wine into old bottles, or you will bust your brain. My blood pressure isnt up. I am blessed to be able to share something with you, and if you don't agree, I hope it has provoked you to think a l ittle at least...Think a new thought, and develop your own. Rachel
  8. Why does a group have to advocate something for you to believe in it or for it to be accepted? I believe this through my own personal study and reading.
  9. O Brother, where art thou? O brother, where art thou?
  10. The Bible teaches that out of affliction we will call upon the LORD. Most people that come to God and Jesus do so out of personal turmoil. The Bible also teaches that we more than anyone will suffer tribulations, because that builds character, and the end result is that we are not ashamed to call upon God to be our help in time of trouble. Hebrews teaches that when we come to God, He WILL scourge us, and He will chastise us, and He will correct us. When we are corrected by God, it is not pleasant, the Bible says so, so He, if the Bible is true, must bring drama in our lives. To make us strong, and to take all pride away, so that we can call on God out of a pure heart, and not be ashamed to do so. Rachel
  11. I have read the original post and would like to respond to that, not how the topic has evovled at this time. There are alot of good posts in this thread, though. I do not believe anyone is born again except Jesus, and that happened at the ressurection. If you look at when God made the statement, 'this day have I begotten thee', it was at His ressuerection. I believe the ressurection/change is the new birth. It has been years since I accepted Jesus, but there is nothing physically different about me except that I am older. The bible teaches there are two kinds of bodies, and the natural comes first, then the spiritual body, after a 'change' I believe that change is the New Birth. Rachel
  12. When you read about outreach and the growth of the church in Acts, the people were baptized. Paul said HE didnt baptize...but he didnt say it wasnt to be done. Rachel
  13. I am so sorry....I do not know Bill Greene's son, I think you have the wrong person. I 'got in' in 84... Rachel Yes...I will email you Evan
  14. Hi Gang, I was recently invited to participate in this..The person that told me about it says VP got his info from this man, and his church. Has anyone heard about it or taken it? What's it all about anyway? I am a little skeptical about the whole thing...Any anfo is appreciated. Rachel
  15. Good subject, Mark. But you've got the whole thing wrong. The issue here was homosexuality. The men that raped and killed the Levite's wife wanted to have sex with him, but couldn't get him, so they killed the wife. All those people were killed because they turned a blind eye to homosexuality...Please read it again. Rachel
  16. Thanks for all the help, Gang It is a Lecture, and I will try the freebies first...I like the last post also from Dan. Thanks All, Rachel
  17. I am looking for software that will let me burn a file longer than the standard 80 minutes. The file I want to burn is a sound file, 130 minutes long and when I try to put it on a disc it says the file is too large, will not fit. If any of you know of a software program that will let me break up a sound file, please let me know. Thanks, Rachel
  18. Full Metal Jacket Hi There. Rachel

  20. A question, When the Bible says to do something forever, throughout all generations, does it really mean that, or is forever over? Rachel
  21. PS, It will take more than that to get me off the track. That was a pebble, not a boulder.
  22. Hi Beast, Don't bite....You obviously know about more sources than vp owned up to publically, than I. If he got more info from the 5 or 6 I can call to mind after all these years, that's enough for me, I believe you. And no, I'll pass, but thanks for the offer. Belle(AKA Rachel)
  23. Hi All, I have to respond here. Mr Weirwille didnt 'plagiarize' anything. He sited his sources, and gave his sources credit. What he did do was play 3 card molly with The Bible...He taught the keys to unlocking the book, and then taught you not to use them...only go as far as those catch phrases took you, which wasnt far, and not to even consider anything that wasnt sanctioned by his church,(Like water baptism, which the first century church observed) even if the truth and wisdom of God slapped you in the face you woulndt believe it, all the while telling you that you were part of a biblical reasearch and fellowship ministry. But he didnt plagiarize anyone. Rachel When I say you, I mean everyone, you being all inclusive, including me.
  24. Hi all, I just got around to actually reading some of this thread, and I would like to share something that has been of concern to me for a while. On the Day of Pentecost, when Peter was speaking, he was speaking in a language that the hearers could not understand. When he said Ye men and brethren, and the rest, he was talking in his language and the hearers heard them in their language. The cloven tounges interpreted, what he was saying, and he spoke all day to those people. So, when we speak in tounges, this is what should happen, if someone doesnt know our language. This was the 'first occurence' of an event, and subsequent simailar events should happen the same way, being defined by the first occurence. I have stopped speaking in tounges altogether, and now pray the words and psalms in the word. It is just as effective for me in my personal prayer life. Food for Thought. Rachel
