  1. References to family members have been deleted. rascal and oldiesman, fight all you want to about the thread topic, but when it comes to family members, please take it to Private Message.
  2. Thx again for everyones ideas. It helps us plan things when we know what people are thinking. Your thoughts and advice are welcome.
  3. Thanx for your answers. We've been making changes the past few months and plan to make even more. In the meantime there have been problems with the software..... disappearing threads and whatnot..... the search function still doesn't work right..... plus the forums have been sloooooooow.... wondering if it bugs everyone else as much as it bugs the admin.
  4. I don't post at GreaseSpot or don't post as much because...... *Comments are welcome*

    Naming Names.

Hello new posters to the world-renowned Grease Spot Cafe! You may have noticed that one or more threads are not where you left them :P--> The Open Forum is for topics of general interest, generally those things that have nothing to do with The Way. About The Way is for all manner of subjects regarding The Way International, its offshoots, leaders, practices, etc. There is some over lap with the Doctrinal Forum, which is where we discuss...you guessed it...doctrinal issues. Discussions about Way doctrine, as well as biblical discussion having nothing to do with TWI, and debates about spirituality in general take place there. Sometimes a topic is in a grey area where it could easily go in two (or more) forums. The moderators use their judgement regarding moving a thread. But since we are in contract negotiations for shorter working hours, we don't always get to threads in a timely manner ;)--> Thanks, and welcome to GS
  6. The story itself is posted in the My Story forum. You can read it here.

jsamuel: Since pawtucket edited your post, please respect that and do not repost the information. Direct inquiries to moderator@gscafe.com
  8. In checking the moderator email mail bag, we often find emails that were accidently sent to us instead of the intended recipient. We don't want to read your mail! Especially that one about...oh never mind If you receive email notifications of responses to Private Topics, please review the following: DON't just use your email's "reply" button Because if you do, it will reply back to moderator@gscafe.com You CAN simply change the address on the "TO" line of your email reply to the email address of the intended recipient You can reply to the sender by clicking on the "reply" button in the body of the message, or by going to the "Private Topics" on GSC The key to understanding what's happening is that the email notification is coming, not from the person who PT'd you, but from Grease Spot Cafe, specifically moderator@gscafe.com. When using your email "reply" function you send your reply to the moderator email address and your intended recipient never gets it. Normally we send an email to you and let you know that you made an error so that you can get your message off to whoever it was supposed to go to
  9. Several posts were edited to further obscure the names of the people being discussed, since none are former or present members of the Board of Directors, nor in the high echelons of TWI.
  10. Catcup & Excathedra, please check private topics Thanks
  11. When you hit "Reply" when responding to a Private Topic message, there is no "return email" - anybody: go ahead and try it, you get the same kind of box that you get when replying on a regular thread. You were sending an email
  12. You're welcome Mary Cate :D--> By the way, since this is the thread about GS going down hill...and one of the suggestions that was thrown out was better (or more) moderation, let me take a moment to explain how moderation works: Several people have either volunteered or been recruited to serve as moderators. This not a paid position! ;)--> We are all GS regulars but have adopted moderator aliases to use when editing, moving threads etc. We have been given some general direction by pawtucket and discuss among ourselves any issues that are not clear-cut. We try to not be intrusive. Since we are all regular folks who have regular jobs, we are not on the job 24 hours/day. We don't have a schedule of when certain moderators will be "on duty". I scan the posts in certain forums during the time I regularly allot for playing on GS and if I see something that needs editing I change into my special moderator tights, mask, and cape and do the deed. I doubt if I've edited a dozen posts all told, and moved maybe three threads. Mainly because most of us "play nice" and refrain from profanity and personal attacks. If any of you feel that you have been unfairly edited, PT the moderator in question, since he or she will be able to tell you the rationale behind the edit. If any of you think we need more or better moderation...feel free to contact pawtucket and volunteer. :D-->
  13. Zixar posted a remark that I felt should deleted. The other posts that were edited quoted it
  14. Did someone say something about paying the moderators? Oh well, I got a nice sweatshirt out of the deal. Or maybe it was freeing the moderators...?
