    Wish me luck...

What an exciting adventure, Cindy! You will do super and I wish you all the best with your tubal reverseal next year!
  2. -->I have an interview for a position that requires setting up in home learning and care of a 2 year old and a 4 year old. One of the main duties is to have activities for learning that are age appropriate and helpful to their learning development. Most people are thinking that they don't want to spend 45 hours a week with two small children. I want to check this out. The hours are great for being available for my part time business and daughter's activities for sports. So if anyone knows of any authors that are really good about this stuff or any suggestions...please let me know. My interview is on Saturday morning...I am excited about this!
  3. I remember a friend of mine using the cabbage soup diet with great success. She cheated and it still fell off. I think I'll give the cabbage soup diet a spin. It looks like it could work because it isn't really high in carbs and has enough protein to keep my blood sugar level.
  4. My Dad pitched in when he was home. He showed me more about cooking than my Mom. Maybe he had more patience. It was my father's therapy to cook dinner. His wife would get everything ready recipe wise and he would come in and start mixing and cooking with or without her. Cooking is my therapy. My husband to be is a great cook and that is nice. He makes this dish for pot luck that everyone ooh's and ahh's over!
  5. Good for you Laleo! I miss my former thin self. I do have knowledge of where to find her: a year or two of changed eating habits!
  6. I enjoyed watching this version of Howard Hughes story. It was sympathetic to H. H. It was definitely worth watching and the way the senate hearings went were awesome! Alec Baldwin plays "bad" very well!
  7. Vickles: I never thought that this thread was about anything other than the topic....Dog gone it...you can't control what people want to say on the public forum....you can try and you can give good reasons why...And sometimes good threads just die...
  8. Going back to what Oak said about communication differences for men and women I have another comment. Sometimes if something isn't an issue for the man, than what the woman says or hints around about literally bounces off the man. Soooo...you have to be clear, you have to detail the relevance and importance of what point needs to be made about the particluar challenge and most importantly: Picking and priortizing what's bugging you or how your needs are not being met is important. You also have to say it more than once in many cases. You have to look for clues if the other person got the message. I can tell when something is being bounced or set aside most of the time when I'm talking to somebody.
  9. I like Suzane Somers food plan which is a combination of low carb and food combining! You can find it on the web. The other suggetions are really good ones as well. Remember that success is never final and failure is nver final!
  10. LOL! It's all good, Steve!
  11. I could tell back in June of '87 that things were going to change a lot. I had avoided getting sober because I knew my marriage wouldn't survive it if my husband, at the time, didn't get sober. Things do continue to change and it's good to remember where I've come from. Thanks for all of your well wishes!
  12. My two favorites are "Pralines and Cream" from Basking Robbins and "Pistacio, Pistacio" from Ben and Jerry's. If you like pistascios, you got to try this flavor!
  13. I learned the hard way when I responded to questions about Reiki and the skeptics had to have their say even though the thread was titled: any one into Reiki? So the other night I was posting and I decided to go into something and just say if they wanted more information they could private topic me. That way I wouldn't be exposed and vulnerable. I don't push what I do and i don't like spending a lot of time defending it. The water works for some and doesn't for some. I have never tried it. There will always be "snake oil" and there will always be things that are unconventional that work for some people.
  14. 18 years ago I stopped drinking. This morning there was something really interesting going on as far as sychronicity. I met someone who was from another region who had been single 12 years and is getting married. His name is Tom. Well you guys know that I'm marrying Tom and someone of you don't know that I've been on my own for 12 years! Wild!
  15. Thanks for sharing about this real person! He was probably my favorite person in that movie.
  16. Nice to meet you, AHAT! I'm Susie, also known as Reikilady. -->Consider yourself introduced!

    Job hunting

Maybe receptionist. I have a hard time understanding people when I feel under pressure to do things fast. I have been doing some receptionist tasks at KZUM.org. I have chasing down some money a very incompetent lawyer said he would refund today. Not fun! At least I have kept my sanity over this. He has now suppose to drop $90 by the book store after 3 pm today. He said he would be mailing it two days ago and in Lincoln it rarely takes 2 days to get mail. Procrastination is an awful thing to be on the other end of. I am going to call a few real estate buds to see if they have any spot cleaning jobs available.
