  1. One quick question: For people who believe in the trinity, why are there only TWO thrones (for God and Jesus Christ) in the Book of Revelation instead of three ( for God,Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit)....... in Revelation 22:1-3? I have not been able to get an answer, backed by scripture, for this question.
  2. TheInvisibleDan I do not believe that believing that Jesus Christ is not God demotes Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ was a man (tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin Hebrews 4:15) it ELEVATES his standing. Also, John 14:12 says the works that Jesus Christ did we can do...and greater works. I have not come close to doing the works that Jesus Christ did. If Jesus Christ was God, I could not imagine even thinking I could do some of the things God did. Because Jesus Christ was a man....it makes his accomplishments all the more astonishing and remarkable.
  3. The Dead are dead until Jesus Christ comes back. The mystery/secret. How scripture intreprets itself: verse context and where it was used before. Administrations in the Bible. Jesus Christ is not God. Speaking in tongues. The manifestations of the spirit. The love to study and read the Bible. How to get born again. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. How to overcome fear. How to teach the Bible. Knowledge that the Bible is true and the Word of God. Many many other positive points. However, you can now get these teaching from other sources. I do not want anyone to think these are reasons to go back or join that organization. What the Way was and what it is today is like day and night. Previously (before Martindale),the Way had problems. After Martindale, it was run into the ground in a hurry and became controlling and abusive that far exceeded what Wierwille had done.
  4. A couple of years after taking PFAL, I was driving my car over to see my grandmother. It was cold out and there was a lot of "black ice" on the road. I turned a corner and was going a little to fast so I hit my brakes and started to slide. Ahead, on my side of the road, was a man in front of his car shoveling snow because his car had slid off the road. As I hit my brakes I started to slide toward his car. He was standing in front of his car and I was approaching the back of his car. I was so close to hitting his car that I closed my eyes and braced for the collision. I yelled "God help me." Eyes closed, I waited for the collision and my car running into the back of the car that would then be pushed into the man in front of it. No collision came......when I opened my eyes I was stopped way up on the OTHER side of the road next to a snow bank. As I write this today my skin is tingling. I know God caused something to happen to keep me from crashing into that car and man. [This message was edited by Paradiseden on December 20, 2003 at 16:53.]
  5. I am certain I have a copy of this letter in one of my storage boxes. If Greasespot wants a copy so it can be available for everyone, I will find this information and mail it (or fax) it in. Of course, the next time I visit the Greasespot Cafe I will expect a free cup of coffee.
  6. No,I would check out Christian Educational Services (CES) or Christian Family Fellowship (CFF) before I would go back to the Way. Both of these organizations have maintained certain biblical teaching and principals learned from the Way they believe to be true. CES has changed a lot of the doctrinal error in Way teachings. CFF has kept most of the Way teachings but it is without all the legalism and dishonesty you find in the Way leadership. Why would you go back to the Way when they: 1) Continue to lie to the followers. 2) Continue to practice a huge double standard (for example...the whole situation with Martindale including his wife still at the Way campus and he is not (she should have been required to leave with him)...no one else is allowed that convenience. This is only one example. If necessary, I can give MANY more. 3) Continue to avoid the...debt issue (no public policy change)....adultery issue..no printed material stating they believe it is wrong from scripture... tithing/abundant sharing issue...WE DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE A MINIMUM 10% OR GOD WILL NOT BLESS US. I could go on but what is the point. Tell me one thing that has changed that now makes it better. Please do not say a more kind and gentle TWI....that may be what they want you to believe...however,their actions say different. I can relate to your need for fellowship. Please make your decision on what will bless you. If you believe going back to the Way is the answer, then that is what you should do. Pray (I will pray for you) and ask God. I am sure your answer will come. Caps for emphasis.
  7. I buy old Way stuff on EBAY all the time. There are many good teaching available prior to 1987. Also, several of the books are very good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
  8. Hope, thanks for taking the time to put this thread on Greasespot. It is a Waydale classic.
  9. In the late 80's this "I want proof" was one of the favorite responses when people were coming forth with their stories of bad treatment by Way leadership, adultery and wasting of money among the leadership of the Way. Also, people would say "How do you know?" "Have you personally talked with that person?" If you said you hadn't talked to the person...you were reproved. If you said you had talked to the person then some people who did not want to know the truth...suddenly they did not want to talk with you about it anymore and you were labeled a number of convenient Way jargon words including "your possessed." At times, it was a no win situation because the people you were talking to did not want to know the real answer or truth.....they only wanted the person to stop talking about it. The adultry topic (that it was practiced by leadership and believed not to be wrong) was one of the favorite denials by those "in" wanting "proof." Paul did not need "proof" when he confronted the Corinthian church in 1Corinthian 5:1... "It is commonly reported that there is fornication among you...." The simple answer is that a certain number of people in various areas of life do not want to know the truth about certain situations because the truth is 1) to painful 2) crushing blow to your mental strength because of having to admit possibly being wrong 3) you have invested to many years to change now 4) believe that if enough time goes by it will go away. Of course, none of these four reasons (among others) line up with what the Bible says.
  10. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get in touch with Peggy (Margaret) and Bernie Holley. They lived in New Hampshire and worked at Way headquarters for a time. Thanks. F5

I am fairly certain my Wow coordinator was F5. Anyway, after a few days on the Wow field looking for a house, we finally found one. My F5 coordinator went out and bought a good supply of beer to celebrate........from that moment on I knew it was going to be a good year...and it was.
