  1. Exie, have you looked at Rosies pic on the main site recently? I think she must be wearing her earballs around her neck..
  2. Could include sound as well. I can almost imagine a good "arrrrrrrgh" with a cute southern accent. "arrrrrrgh, y'all."
  3. Nice job so far Pat.. hey, maybe if you had somebody with a little artistic ability, you could have a "fix up the pres for Sun. night service" section. You know, cut and paste various "items" on the poor old thing. Could have skull and crossbones, pirate hat, patch, stuff like that. Could make "Rosie the pirate." That's one example.. the possibilities are endless! You could have Rosie the witch, Rosie the lumberjack, etc.
  4. I was impressed by Christian folk that could have fun. They were not, well, boring as a rock. Whew, look at some of the same people that are still in now! The challenge that was thrown out that "if you think there is anything worthwhile out there in the world go look" did not work on me. I went out and looked. I think it was a dare that they really did not expect anybody to take them up on. I found there were better friends in an "ungodly" civic organization than the sad little cult.
  5. No Uncle H, I think the q tips and alcohol are for "sanitary sex". You need gloves for "safe sex".
  6. That is perhaps one of the main reasons I do not care to go back. It does not take a real long time to figure out that their indulgences do not contribute to spirituality, unless you continue to try to fool yourself.
  7. Belle, I have to agree with you. Funny how ole craigers turned from horse sense to listening to the rear end of the horse..
  8. And what a fine line it can be, indeed. I witnessed first hand how some who perhaps had a love for God, bible, and believers turned into meddlers and sellers of petty (and often not-so petty) indulgences, and changed from being servants to being meddlers. Interesting they turned into what they apparently loathed.
  9. Sadly, some of us had their noses bent from smelling so many rats.. couldn't smell them anymore.
  10. I remember debt being handled at one time like anything else- use it wisely. Use the credit card, just pay it off and avoid killer interest rates. I wonder where common sense went..
  11. Should always have a pair in a glass case, hammer within reach. "Break in case of presence of MOG."
  12. Now I know why they really sell so many ear muffs this time of year!
  13. Just makes me feel sorry for some of the "poor devils".. boy, deprogramming sure was a devilish thing to do to anybody. I agree. Caused worse problems than what it attempted to "fix". Parents I know (my aunt and uncle) tried to do that to my cousin. I cut myself off from them for many, many years. But, the kid forgave them and helped to reconcile the family. I don't know. Anybody who says there are no regrets in life must be kidding themselves. Once, I thought the organization was worth a little sacrifice. Looking at what it has become sure makes me think I made the wrong decision..
  14. Makes me think of "the Nightmare before Christmas"
  15. Some folks (I do not say all) paid way too much even back in the "good old days."
  16. Lifted Up, I am not claiming that it was all bad either. The corps training actually used to have some good training and teaching from a few dedicated people. They actually had an academic program. Did I receive some benefit from some classes and from a few dedicated people who loved God? Yes, but most of them have been drummed out of the service. Today, TWI has far less to offer.
  17. My original thought was really "what did involvement in the ministry cost". Faith in Christ, salvation is free if the bible is correct. I think it is a fair assessment of a product (in this case, what TWI had to offer) to consider what the price is, and weigh it with what actual benefits the product has to offer. Ironically, these days, they seem to have less and less to offer, while the price apparently is continuing to rise. More commitment, more sacrifice, more money, and for what? The Special in Texas this year is a prime example. How did they reward their most faithful, committed followers? Same drab teachings, stuff you could get out of reading Bullinger if you can't find a PFAL book, and a few assorted topics. Now they are thinking of redoing the foundational class. You can bet it will not be free for current grads.. more time, more money, shuffle the kids off somewhere, less time with family.. etc. What are they gonna get? Anything that is really new, or works? Or the same old leftovers, rebaked in the guise of "present truth"? On top of this, the higher ups will EXPECT the followers to be so thankful and "blessed" because of their "generosity". I think the cost that most have paid for the product is WAY too high.
  18. The animal skins from Way followers pets were placed on the mantle, above the old desk. (gruesome!)
  19. The Cauldron was stirring by Rosie the Louse.
  20. .. Harvey and Jean had been all tucked away..
  21. Alas, I am slightly dated as well..
  22. Ha ha ha ha.. sometimes we can only wish, Uncle H.
