  1. Jerry told me he gave you the address to the forum, so you should be set. But if not let me know. You'll be a welcome addition to the group. If you're intersted in learning, there's a really cool online church, called Agapeo Biblical Research Fellowship. :) The pastor has some great insights! And yeah, I get called lots of different names too, both online and in real life. One person thinks I'm a fundamentalist Christian, while another will say I'm a satanic disciple, when I've only expressed one view. And thats ok. People will never agree with everything I have to say, and I will never agree with all that is said. But, like you said, its enjoyable to learn.
  2. There's a metaphysics forum run by a man. And every month, he sends out an e-mail, in three parts. One is a part where people write their thoughts. Some are wiccan, some are spiritualists, some are new agers, some are conservative republicans. Some write thought provoking posts, some write gobblity gook. Yet, all are heard. However, all are not understood. To understand the post, the origin of his words should be uncovered. The beginnings of a thought brought to life. Without understanding, there is anger, and hurt. To understand my God, and what He wants, I cannot go to the beginning, the origin, for with him, there is infinity. But I can look for an origin of His words to us, the beginning of our life with Him. Does one thought negate an opposing thought? Can a God with one entity exsist with a God with three? Will seeking to become one with my God become a life giving breath or a box enclosed death?
  3. Todd, With yin and yan, mother and father, black and white, are all holy? Or are they just there? Separate beings with one purpose? My question is where is the darkness that yields to the light? Must my God contain both?
  4. ok, the biggest draw to me in TWI was that there was not a triune God. I never did understand how God could be three individuals, but only one at the same time. But I question everything now. I do understand how God can be loving like a hen with her chicks. That's awesome imagery. So, ok, I guess my question is do you feel God is a literal two part being? Male and Female? Like the trinity, but with two instead of three? Or is God one God, with dual (or a multitude!) of functions?
  5. Let me try again. Joseph, Many years ago, I was taught that if I took acid, and that it would bring me to a closer relationship with God. I was told that people saw visions like you see. If these statements in anyway caused you hurt, please know that was not my intention. And I sure do not mean to insinuate anything about you. I think it would be really cool to see visions, and in fact some people wanted to see them so bad, they used acid to get to that place. I am sorry that my message could have caused you to be seen in a negative light. Please forgive me.
  6. Pat Powell??? Sexually abusing 5 year old boys? OMG!! Pinklady, I am so sorry! Words cannot convey how badly I feel. He was the first person I was brought to when they started the process of asking (demanding) me to leave the corps. I too asked way too many questions. And this was years ago, over 20 years ago! I always thought he was creepy. He would pick me up if I was walking near him. I mean physically lift me off my feet while I was walking to class or work. I told him I didn't like it, but I don't think he really cared what I liked. What kind of man goes around picking up random women? Nut cases! But wow! who would have thought exactly how creepy he was? I am again, so sorry.
  7. Ahoy me hearties! And shiver me timbers! Thar be many bloodthirsty buccaneers at the Greasespot Cafe! Me mates and I looted and plundered the nursing home we work at. And our boss didn't flinch even when we ordered the serving wenches from dietary to bring us up some rum. I think he be a true pirate! Or he knew the store of rum was depleted. The grandmas and grandpas cheered our deeds. One even crossed ranks to become a pirate! Ah! Tis good to be a pirate! Now, break out the grog! Thars rummin to do! AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I saw your joke earlier, but I was laughing so hard, I couldn't type. LOL! That was awesome! Foe those of you not in the know, the TV show "Wife Swap" is on, right now, and one of the wives is.......... a Pirate!!!! LOL!!!
  9. Herbie, really cool stuff you're learning! Thanks for sharing it. Eagle, my daughter uses this site http://www.geocaching.com/ to find her caches. You need to register an account, but its free! Sounds like you're gonna have a cool birthday!
  10. In your quote, you talk about Holy Breath, the mother. Is this mother, and the grace giving God mother the same being?
  11. Your place looks really cute! Did it take a long time to set everything up?
  12. ok, now....... Does anyone know anything about Numbers 5? Is that about abortion? A man suspects his wife is sleeping with another man, so he brings her to the priest. The priest makes her drink some concoction, and if I'm reading this right, if she's pregnant, the baby's aborted.
  13. Ha, DMiller! Maybe if you played a horn pipe instead of a fiddle, you'd know the seriousness of pirateering! But if its pirate jokes you want: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not-so-Jolly Roger A soldier meets a pirate in a bar, and the talk turns to their adventures. The soldier notes that the pirate has a peg leg, a hook and an eye patch. "How did you end up with a peg leg?" he asks. The pirate replies, "I was swept overboard into a school of sharks. As my men were pulling me out, a shark bit my leg off." "Wow!" says the soldier. "What about your hook?" "Well," answers the pirate, "we were boarding a ship when one of the enemy hacked off my hand." "Incredible. How’d you get the eye patch?" "A grapefruit squirted in my eye," the pirate replies. "You lost your eye to grapefruit juice?" "Well," says the pirate, "it was my first day with the new hook."

    Funny Email

This is too funny! The men in my family don't like our cat to be in the bathroom with them. They say it because she likes to play in the "stream", but maybe your e-mail contains the real story! Ha! Ha! Ha!
  15. My daughter has a friend with a gps, and he was into geo cacheing. He took her with him, and she was hooked. When they were here, her friend went to an online site, and found our general area, then used his gps to locate exactly where the cache was. It amazed me how many caches were registered, just in my small area. The one they went to was within walking distance. I'll e-mail my daughter, and see if she can tell me the site she uses.

    NDE

Yeah, I Peter 3:18-20. It was taught in TWI, in fact its in JCOP, but TWI says he preached to them after the resurrection.
  17. I'm talking to my daughter and she said this: "well...there's other stuff too...like some boxes contain themes (one was star wars that we found). others are called microcaches...they are no bigger then a 35mm film container. some are virtual caches too...you just find the location where somebody else thought there was a great view or a great hike to get to that spot" Sounds like fun !
  18. I've never been, but my kids have geo cached and they love it. When they go, they find the treasure, and add something to it. The "treasure" is usually just trinkets, like the stuff you can get out of a bubble gum machine. They also take something out of the box. Then there's a notebook that they can record what the took, what they left and when. Once they left a tracker. When someone finds it, they move it closer to the intended destination. And that gets logged also.
  19. Unbelievable people! Sure, you can post about getting out of TWI, and Biblical doctrine, but when it comes to important stuff, like piracy, no one has a thing to say. Ok, land lubbers! Drty and I will split the bottle of rum between us. None for you!
  20. What about Numbers 5 where a woman sleeps with another man besides her husband. The husband brings her before the priest and he makes her drink something. Isn't that dealing with abortion?
  21. Sorry! I posted under Drty's name! He doesn't really have a husband!
  22. It happens Tuesday, September 19th. http://www.talklikeapirate.com/ I'm going to celebrate at work, along with a couple of my coworkers. Our boss will love us. (Hah!) Is anyone else celebrating?
  23. I don't think I can agree that all women who have an abortion suffer deep emotional scars. I do believe that some women have abortions because they feel it is the most loving thing they can do for everyone involved, and they do this with no regrets. I saw The Silent Scream many years ago, but really the only part I remember is the baby/fetus opening its mouth, and someone saying it was screaming. But I did find this on the web. Patricia A. Jaworski has produced an audio tape, "Thinking About the Silent Scream," in which she interviews several internationally renowned neuroscientists on fetal brain development, the alleged fetal perception of "pain," and alleged fetal "personhood." Some of the highlights of those interviews are summarized in the following paragraphs. Dr. Michael Bennett, chairman of the neuroscience department of Albert Einstein Medical School, when asked whether a brain exists at conception and whether there can be a person without a brain, answered with an unequivocal "no!" to both questions. It was pointed out that the human brain has approximately 100 billion brain cells and that there are an estimated 100 trillion connections between neurons in the brain. This extraordinary neuronal "interconnectivity" provides the neurostructural foundation for complex perceptions and "personhood" and takes many months and often years to fully develop and function. Dr. Patricia Goldman-Rakic, professor of neuroscience at Yale University Medical School, emphasizes that brain neurons do not exist prior to four weeks in utero, that the peak period for brain neuron development is from two to five months in utero, and that the existence of neurons, per se, does not indicate the existence of a developed, functioning brain. Once the brain cell is born, there is a long process of migration of brain cells that occurs mainly from two to six months in utero during which the brain cells move (migrate) to their final destination in the brain. An even longer process of development makes possible the "interconnectivity" of brain cells which is absolutely essential for sensation, perception, conscious experience, thought, and behavior. The formation of brain synapses that make possible brain cell communication does not begin until about the third month in utero, and most are formed after birth. Dr. Clifford Grobstein, former chairman of the Department of Biology at Stanford University and now at the University of California at San Diego, highlights the complexity of brain development by noting that the brain docs not develop uniformly. For example, certain parts of the brain develop earlier and some later. The cerebral neocortex that is responsible for complex perceptions is one of the last to develop. Dr. Dominick Purpura, dean of Albert Einstein Medical School, has been studying human brain development since 1974 with his research on mental retardation. Dr. Purpura emphasizes that there are a minimum number of neurons and synaptic connections that are necessary before the qualities of "humanness" and "personhood" can be developed and that this capacity begins to occur in the middle of the last trimester. Thus, about twenty-eight to thirty weeks in utero is the minimal time for the beginning of this capacity—"It can't begin earlier," according to Dr. Purpura. Dr. Purpura also emphasizes that critical changes are seen in the fetal brain wave pattern at thirty-one weeks when the brain waves become more organized and, thus, meuninglul; the first signs of sleep and wakefulness are not observed until a few weeks later. It is emphasized that all cells have electrical potentials and that the mere presence of such signals, per se, does not mean that the capacity for complex perceptions or "personhood" exists. How these neuronal signals become organized and reflect underlying neuronal and structural organization is fundamental to understanding the basic neurobiological pnnciple that structure precedes function. 24. Surely there are no more Shroyers in TWI! Is she related to Rev. J? Please tell me no!Way Corps of 2006- Even if all the people in the picture were grads, man! 10 people total? And Michael Fort's still in? Well, I shouldn't be surprised. But I am! I wouldn't worry too much about the people who still go to fellowship. Are there any blessings to count while involved in TWI? This homework should take 15 seconds, tops.
