  1. It's very obvious even in mainstream media that 'leftie' leaning liberal journalists can be vicious, sarcastic and condescending at the best of times...

This may be one of the most important topics of our time, i.e., What is Hell?     I think Martin Luther struggled with it; certainly I do.     Still haven't decided yet, still open to possibilities.   Here's another book that I think we discussed at some point in the past:

Wayne really nailed it for me when he Exergised John 3:16 and then went into the meanings of eternal, forever and ages...

I'm listening to the audio tape about William Barlow again and around the 19:00 mark, he talks about vpw's book "Jesus Christ is Not God" and how bad the explanation of John 1:1 was.  He went on to list others who had researched both for and against the trinity doctrine and ended up writing a manuscript called "The Only True God."  This was before he went into the corps.

(Barlow tried to submit the ms through twi's process of doing research but it was rejected; sent it a year later to a former fellowship coordinator that he was still friends with who sent it off to the Ohio State coordinator who reproved Barlow for not following proper procedure [which he had actually done the year before] and yelled at him for an hour, calling him arrogant for thinking he knew more than "dr." w. The SC also said he wanted to talk about the ms with Barlow's branch coordinator first before discussing it with him.  What eventually happened with the ms wasn't mentioned at this part of the tape.)

Anyway, I'm wondering if there was ever an update done to JCING to improve vp's book.  I know John Lynn, John Schoenheit and Mark H. Graeser wrote their own book called "One God and One Lord " which is 650 pages and is FAR better than JCING.  I doubt very much twi is making that book available in their bookstore.

So if twi is still sticking with this one original book on the topic of the trinity, it shows either laziness on their part to improve/update it and/or some need to keep vpw front and centre.   Either way, way followers are missing out on what others have learned on this topic - so much for them being a research ministry.

Some of THE best teachings I've heard on these subjects were by men after they had left twi...Wayne Clapp's 'Hell is not a place of eternal torment' and John Nessles 'Who is this Jesus Christ' were/are absolutely skillful' brilliant, impactful....

Interesting question.   My first reaction was 'no' - but then I thought about how the Roman Catholic Church allowed the mass to be watered down around 1958 with Vatican 2.    IMO the only real way to see this is to attend a traditional latin mass, then go to the new Novus Ordo mass... you will see what I mean.  Imagine having a concept for hundreds of years then change it..   it's a topic that's quite debated in RC circles...

saved by water baptism ? What if there's no water ?...saved by confession ? What if there's no priest ? The thief on the cross was perhaps a 'shadow' of what was imminent ?  Thank God, Jesus came to SIMPLIFY SALVATION !!!! Thank God the Apostle Paul received the 'new' revelation in it's entirety....

    AI got saved!?

Shout out to everyone who has ever been in a dungeon with Jeremiah or in a lion's den with Daniel.

He got sucked into American-ness calling a class on Christianity Power for Abundant Living.   Layers there to be peeled back to discover it's still very good news.

I don't mind calling you out...you sound like an 'innie' posing as an 'outie' lol...what you couldn't join and post as an imposter for longer than a month ?? Sure, see you at the Rock...I need a fresh reminder of how delusional people can 'manifest' hypocrisy...

I don't know if I should laugh or cry, Charity?

I appreciate your kind concern.  So, when I wrote about those people talking about their out of body experiences, you don't think that's real either?

When it comes to the supernatural realm, I'm long gone out there. I've experienced a lot, but I've heard a lot more and frankly, I'm jealous.  Take Will, for instance, I believe every word:

Joyful Sound...this reminded me of one time in-Rez at Indiana Campus...LCM was visiting and sharing stuff in Campus Chapel...as he was speaking he looked down and played with a jade ? bracelet around his wrist...I immediately felt nauseous and close to passing out...I closed my eyes and s.i.t. until the feeling had gone....LCM certainly wielded some type of spiritual 'power'...so yes, I know EXACTLY what you are saying !!

I think most people would reply that asbestos may have done well- and I would say it's saved lives- but it's more important to point out the incredible dangers of exposure to this dangerous substance than to focus on some of the benefits and IGNORE the dangers that could suffocate you or kill you.  "

I would say both asbestos and twi can kill in the same 'way'....slowly, cruelly and sucking the oxygen out of you....

  8. Nice words Joyful Sound :)...Me and my family prospered after LEAVING TWI...I put it down to seed sown years previously. We still hold onto much of the 'Word' and occasionally listen to some of LCM's latest teachings (have learnt even more, newer stuff from that) but do not fellowship with any particular church as almost always within the first 5 minutes they're preaching trinity, or the dead are alive or some such diatribe...Psalm 119:104 all day...!!

One thing I can say about the Way, it looks like they never discovered good worship.  Looks like they still do the performances.   The rest of Evangelical Christendom has long known about something much more experiential with the Holy Spirit.

Well Nate, if you want to start getting 'political' about it, GB News is my favourite...ABC whether it be UK, USA or Australia is way too 'left leaning' for my taste.

Which is why I watch SKY and Fox amongst others...MSNBC, CBS, etc....are a running joke.

We might be inching too far out on political thin ice.

I'm just an observer, not a moderator.

I actually agree, I've been temporarily banned for being less politically vehement than this lol....'orangeman' is simply name calling by those who have no better argument...peace out :eusa_clap:

UK maps have Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America).

If there's no good reason to change a name of centuries, why bother?

Ah, says an orangeman, there is good reason.  My ego!

TBH if it were called Gulf of THE Americas, that would be understandable and maybe acceptable.  The area is bounded by the continent of North America and the isthmus of Central America; and South America forms a southern boundary though arguably not exactly on the gult.  The lengths of the Mexican border and the north American border appear to be about the same.

But no.  The orangeman thinks America means the whole of the continent of North America (sorry, Canadians).  And sharing with other parts of "America" (ie, Central and South) just isn't in the playbook.

It's likely the rest of the world with stick with Gulf of Mexico and the name will revert back in a few years' time.

From what I've been seeing on UK news Twinks, many, many Britons would happily swap the 'orange man' for that sack of oatmeal mush, Keir Starmer...Farage 2026 !!

  14. here in Australia google comes up with..... Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America) in that order. I'll go by what the current administration has renamed it....Gulf of America.

    Crumbs.  Tent.  Grass.  Yikes.

Can understand if it were a tent with a floor but it wasn't.  Can understand if it would be likely to be a cause of litter (wrappings carelessly discarded, etc).

One might wonder how some of these people cope in the wider world.

Thanks 'Twinks' and you just reminded me of a wonderful fellow International Corps sister who went up and rounded up extra blankets for us all :) ;)

  16. I remember ROA '89/'90 ? as a Way Corps F20 participant. Internationals were assigned separate tents with a list of 'do's and don'ts, one being no food to be eaten IN the tent. Fair enough, so we sent our 5 year old to eat his cookie sitting on the EDGE of the tent so any crumbs would fall OUTSIDE the tent. No, no,no...not good enough for one beady eyed (or is that eagle eyed) Bless Patrol dropkick by the name of Mike W.... he came running up to raucously admonish my 5 year old about FOLLOWING RULES. So we obligingly moved our son another one foot outside to finish his cookie. Somehow, for some reason only God knows, our 5 year old put one leg inside the tent....well....Mike W.... came racing up because he had been hiding behind the side of the tent to say "Gotcha"...I think it was the only the third time In-Rez I told someone to Fark off...to which he obediently replied lol.

    YMCA

I remember the Foundational class we took in Auckland New Zealand in '89.....audio, with cards being held by someone up the front ( Hi Fi !!) lol...was a hoot watching the cards sloowwwlllyyy dip towards the floor as the card holder drifted in and out of consciousness, oblivious to the little 'ding' from the audio bell....

Oh, Nathan, you got here just in time.

See Allan? Allan, say hi. So anyway, Allan has been given multiple warnings for [checks notes] more than four years to knock off the politics, but he keeps coming back and posting politics, only to get more warnings. With me so far?

Cool, so Allan, who by the way is Christian, got another "one more time and that's it" warning in January, and he came onto a thread in the atheism forum two months later to complain that I'm an atheist (the post is still there), which would be FINE if the thread were about me being an atheist, but it wasn't. So we asked [not demanded. Just asked] him to stay on topic and his reply was to post a video. About politics.

And still he wasn't banned. Nope. He was invited to talk it out, let's work this out, we don't want you to leave, but you're constantly violating the no politics rule, man. But he declined to have a real discussion.

So naturally, we... warned him again.

Now he's here to talk about how intolerant I am.

He's HERE. Not banned, still. Not restricted. Not on moderator approval. Still posting freely.

    About how intolerant I am.

    Should be good.

Neither I nor others have mentioned anything about threats real or implied of being 'booted off' GSC...and tbh it would hardly be a 'life changing' or devastating occurrence would it now :)....it was merely mentioned that there are posters on here who are very skewed and abrasive and insulting to others who post with a differn't view point to theirs...be honest now...GSC aint no 'all embracing' 'bipartisan' fest of forgiving disillusioned former cultists lol...and really, those particular posters should know better having lived through the abuse of twi.
