  1. Waysider,

Thanks, I never really thought of Jesus Christ being reduced in importance in twi, but definitely there was lot's of Trinitarian bashing,

but I have noticed in other churches placing emphasis on having a relationship with JC/God. For me, I think the issue has a lot to do with distinction between faith and believing. (If there is or is not a difference I'm not sure.) Other christians talk of faith in a way that emphasis a trust and relationship. With believing and twi, it was more about you and your effort to live up to the standard of the Word,

Maybe I've crossed a few topics here but I think they're all related. I'm still trying to work this out in my head.

  2. SOM, Waysider,

Can you have a relationship with Jesus and not believe in the Trinity? If you don't believe the Trinity, you don't pray to Jesus, so there can't be a relationship can there? (forgive me if I've derailed)

  3. errrrrr,

there are those still at the cabinet level with real minister experience. The Fox is adding young blood to the cabinet. I think there are plenty still in power without the greed of their predecessors, and with the memory of the past mistakes.

I have no reason to believe The Way will not experience another explosion (maybe not as big, and probably not soon) if left alone. When the old crones leave with their soy bean ways and the younger guys (that can operate a computer) take the reins.

  4. Okay okay okay,

LCM, an adulterer, no secret (and probably worse)

VP, the same, I can believe that OK

Now the Fox, being a . . . leaving the natural use of the . . . well you get it.

I first heard this about 8 years ago and just laughed at the idea. This keeps coming up in jest here on GC.

Where did this idea come from and is there any real evidence? (If this were proven wouldn't it be a final blow to twi?)

  5. As a mature disciple one should be able to self discipline oneself and always be excited about the truth of God's Word, which He has magnified above His Holy Name. One should not need charismatic teachings, for the Truth that is presented in a logical :yawn1: and powerful manner is enough to excite. . :yawn1: :yawn1: :yawn1: a true disciple of . . . :sleep1: :sleep1: :sleep1: :sleep1: :sleep1:

  6. :offtopic:

I never really liked the title of "Jesus Christ is not God"

    1. It causes immediate defensiveness of other Christians. Not exactly thought provoking.

    2. It might as well be titled "Jesus Christ is not a camel"

  7. I liked that. I've had my fill of organized this and organized that. And, i will admit that finding truth is a challenge worth persuing. But one must do the work of searching in order to find it. Organizations, IMHO, are attractive because they offer the "truth" all packaged up for me, nice and neat, so I don't have to look very far, or even use my brain!! Thinking for myself, then, becomes unnecessary....and therein lies the trap! :nono5:

There's always someone willing to tell you what to think. <_<

Are churches themselves organizations? (I've only ever been a part of twi) I just think of churches as places for christians to gather for fellowship and to be reminded of the bible's teachings. People need to gather to support each other. Do christians get together without some demonitation or organization playing a part? Even greasespot has administrators. (I'm not arguing, just asking)

  8. Are there CES members at GS?

We all still need fellowship with others.

I just thought if there were a ministry of people were as a ministry they could say "Hey, we thought this might work, it doesn't seem too, we need to try something else." Without using most of their time to praise the Board of Directors or whatever. You now, actually being a dynamic church.

  9. Is it? Or is it about reopening old wounds that might be better left to heal, and recounting old horror stories under the guise of getting at the truth? Once again, VPW is DEAD and beyond the point of hurting anyone (unless we get a reenactment of Carrie). Last time I looked, none of us are involved with TWI any more so none of us are in any position to change any thing there except by prayer. I'm certainly not going to pass on to my children that that kind of behavior is acceptable, but I'm not sure that I'm going to pass onto them that your (general not specific) kind of behavior is either.

When I was growing up, I stacked a lot of wood. All year round. Sometimes, you spend a good part of the day stacking a wall of wood only to realize it's unsteady. To fix this, you don't just keep stacking. You stop, tear everything down, and start over. Do it right.

  10. I don't mean any antagonism toward trinitarians, but when I pick up the bible, I just don't see the trinity jumping off the pages at this time. Arguments can be made about this verse and that. But as a whole. I just don't see it.

    that's all.

  11. I've got the joy

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, (where?)

down in my heart, (where?), down in my heart,

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, (where?) down in my heart to stay.

I've got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart

I've got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus, down in my heart

I've got the wonderful love of my blessed redeemer way down in the depths of my heart

And if the devil doesn't like it he can sit on a tack

    OUCH!

    sit on a tack

    OUCH!

    sit on a tack

    OUCH!

And if the devil doesn't like it he can sit on a tack

    OUCH! FOREVER!

And I'm so happy, so very happy

I've got the love of Jesus in my heart (down in my heart)

    and I'm so happy(whoo-hoo), so very happy(hee-haw)

I've got the love jesus in my heart!

  12. I find it interesting that so many who study the bible on there own come to the conclusion that J.C. is independent of God. Isaac Newton and Thomas Jefferson are a couple. There was a guy during the reformation. Micheal Servetus and others.

  14. When Johnny put the paper on the wall

He put the parlor paper in the hall

    he papered up the stairs

    he papered all the chairs

he even put a boarder on grandma's shawl

When Johnny put the paper on the wall

he spilled a pot of paste upon us all

    and now we stick together

    like birds of a feather

Since Johnny put the paper on the wall
