  2. This was the point I was trying to make about folks who had been in cults feeling so protective of their own particular group.

No, Rascal, you're wrong. My belief system is not based on men, though men taught it to me. The reason I still believe TWI doctrine is because IT WORKS!!!!! It worked in 1977 when I first took foundational PFAL and it works now. The issues I have with TWI are because of what people have done. This is separate from what God has done. You appear incapable of understanding this. You accuse me of having the need to lash out in order to validate what I believe, yet it is YOU who does that very thing.

If you mean the doctrine slowly sucks every ounce of vitality and joy from your gut, making the hope something to be feared, and causing you to mentally snarl at the loving God Almighty. . . unless of course you've become a mindless wayferbrain goon,

    Then yes, TWI's doctrine works.

  3. I mentioned this on the corpes thread, but I think it is applicable here as well.

I think that it is very difficult to go from thinking that we were *God`s elite* with a special corner on the market of truth, to becoming humble enough to admit that we were mistaken and start again from scratch.

I think that sometimes arrogance prevents us from honesty.

I agree but I also think it is ironic because I've seen so many in twi admit an error. It was like some game to see who could be the most humble by openly displaying they made a mistake.

  4. Copenhagen,

now that I think of it more the fox began her presidency saying she didn't want a ministry of "yes" men. However, while at the gulog, she would do reproofs, they typical "You've all screwed some little thing." I don't think she's necessarily given us breathing room. She's doing the same stuff, but in a old lady way. lcm played football, he did things that way.

Vp, lcm, and the fox are all the same ideologically (power hungry) but only different in personality. There's no plan. It's the same thing. We're just not seeing its full effect yet.

  5. twi must be held in contempt. Their efforts are for more than just deception.

in my opinion their greatest evil is their attempt to deny free will. The scriptures say what they say they say. You will think the thoughts that they give you. They will decide if God has spoken to you (even if He didn't). You go where they say to go and do what they say to do.

You are not allowed to even consider looking into other churches in order to make your own decision.

think of the kids, if they disagreed, they were spanked without explanation, just OBEY. That's not deception, but a direct threat.(Once I was at the ROA and I witnessed a @12 year old girl hitting a @6 year old girl and saying "OBEY",(smack), "OBEY", (smack) . . .

twi exalts itself to God's level.

I don't understand why people say some good came from twi. What good? I made some friends in twi, but I don't give twi thanks for it. Besides, I was told to loose some good friends outside twi in the process. I learned how to fold clothes and lots of little practical stuff, but I was also fed lies. More is lost than gained.

twi has made no apologies. We should sugarcoat nothing.

  6. Someone help me finish this.

    I'm standing on the W-O-R-D

    Clap your hands. . . :eusa_clap:

    Because we're a FAM-A-LY

The Word is the will of G-O-D

Hand-in-hand on The Word we shall stand.

I'll teach you what I know

    and together we will grow

    Clap your hands. . . :eusa_clap:

    along The Way

Stand up and sing this song

    we can all sing along

It is a hap-py day!

  7. It seems strange to assign blame to people as if on trial but be unable to "punish" them for the crime. To blame a person or group for all the problems is probably the easy thing to do. Perhaps it is something more intangible that needs to be identified. Some sort of concept, idea, practice or character flaw in each of us. Like most of us would agree a totalitarian government is a poor practice or having a drug addiction is undesirable. These things lead to more problems.

Assuming VP and/or everyone else began with good intentions, what was the one mistake that lead to more?

  8. It might be interesting to see this same experiment done wih someone singing the words to a song and then doing the same song in "scat".(Scat is a style of singing that employs the use of random syllables rather than words. Ella Fitzgerald was probably the most well known, though two others that come to mind are Scatman Crothers and Mel Torme.)

That is interesting. Never thought of that. I wonder what other things people do like that. There may be things that don't involved words or language, maybe like a musical instrument or dancing.

  9. Did anyone see the Nightline (ABC newshow) recently where there was a doctor doing research on speaking in tongues?

some people like this certain minister did it on demand, some needed some inspiration such as music. (interesting)

The minister was asked to pray with understanding and then his brain was scanned (MRI or something). Then he was asked to pray in tongues while being scanned.

The results showed that more parts of the brain were needed to pray with understanding that with tongues.

    Comments anyone?

  10. The Fox has no plan. The Fox is not that foxy.

I think they are waiting for their kids to "mature"..

Those who have stuck around, and haven't run for their lives are the likely candidates who have properly hardened themselves with vey dogma and opinion.

The old guard is just too old and tired to be as mean as they once were. I don't think it's that they have really changed, they just don't have the stamina that they used to.

I think the next generation will bring back the harshness. Their pinkys will be heavier than Rosie's loins..

They are not caring for the next generation. The leadership is too stupid and careless to do such a thing.

  11. I never really had a problem paying for a class. (In any field, take a class and someone pays). What I have a problem with thought is the fact there is a class. Life is taught by example and one on one. It still bugs me that Advanced Class grads can't teach foundational material. It should be just that, foundational. You should just be able to go to fellowship and get that info. I can see some logic in having a class, so that everyone's been taught the same thing. But why push it so? Why does twi invest so heavily in classes? It's a waist of effort.

Yes, now that you mention it I do have loved ones still with twi who believe they've been healed but are obviously not. (are they just not believing right? )

  12. Absolutely. They make a statement, then pound on the bible and get all excited about "the anvil of God's Word."

How many times have I (and others) asked a simple queston, "show me from The Word." and leadership just does this dance where they pound with their fists and get all boisterous and start talking about "the truth" and yada yada. Rarely a clear point made.

Debt, the tithe, confrontations, are subjects I know they get upset about. Why?

  13. Copenhaggen,

Hell, it was hard as hell to find another young person to talk to let alone a date. Remember LCMs family class? Premarrital sex depends on the parents. Not even hinting that it could be harmful. So your a teenager sitting there wondering who's parents let who do what. My patriarchal father's only word's to me ever were "don't be a homo and don't come home with and unbelieving wife." :asdf:

  14. If we can't go beyond what we are taught. Why are we taught keys to biblcial Understanding?

    i.e.

Unclear verses must be understood in light of the clear verses.

(Please let me know if this is misquoted)

Is this forced understanding? It seams logical. Sounds good for deductive reasoning.

But don't these "keys" imply that we are to go beyond?

  15. In the Passing out of the Patriach we were told craiggers wasn't even there for the final words. He had passed out from dancing too much (Tights were too tight probably). So if anything we have to take krissy gears word for..

The person I was told heard this was a relative of VP, and I don't think that detail is important, just the idea that VP is still influencing us young folks to exalt him. If twi is God's idea VP can be forgotten about. If he "put it all together", good for him, forget him, he'll get his rewards later. What matters is God and His Will. not so in twi. Has anyone seen that silly 6 - 8 foot statue of him?

  16. thanks waysider, I certainly will be going over those articles again and again.

The revelation manifestations seem to be the most commonly taught manifestations in other churches, and not in the hooky-pook sense. The make as simple having a good gut feeling or just a lack of peace when making a decision.

As for discerning of spirits, I believe in the Advanced Class this does not always mean we see or know about some specific devil spirit (as in athletes  ) But it could simply mean we (supernaturally) know the difference between a friend or foe. (I don't have my syllabus handy, but I believe they used a record involving David prior to Saul's demise)

  17. If I heard right, when craiggers read the "the vip and me" he didn't say anything when he died. he just turned, faced the wall and died. not too dramatic, no special last words, just plain passed away quietly. are words trying to be put into his mouth?

    that is possible

And yes we can't really know what he said.

Considering my source, and like I said, I think it is part of trying to convince people that twi's problems stem from men and women other then vp and his teachings. We just need to patch up that little "grave mistake" and move on with vp's ways. WWolf pointed out their plan will fail. But not before many of the young people who fall for these sayings "crash"

Oh, and that saying on his tombstone thing is for all to see. That just puzzles me. It's like he admitted failure or didn't give his all or something.

  18. child(ren?)

    lol

Yes, this a huge concern I have also. I want to be part of something, but I trust nothing. My critical little twi brain finds a problem with everything. I also want something good to give to my kids so that they can have some type of compass in life.
