  1. I just read that passage. And what???
  2. I see no difficulty in saying that God knew each of us thousands of years ago, as He today still knows everyone who will be born in the future. He sees everything, everywhere, and knows already how close to Him your walk will be. God took Moses [during one of his dark moments] and brought him forward in time to meet with Jesus, to give him 'hope'. God did the same for Elijah. God took Paul [during one of his dark moments] and brought him forward to see things] to give him hope. God took Daniel forward to show him future events. God took John [the revelator] forward to show him future events. That being said, I see no connection between this ability of God's and when we become living souls. I stand on the idea that to be a living soul we must breath air. :)
  3. I am not in favor of promiscuous sex outside of marriage. And I am not in favor of using abortion is a birth-control method. Each time that a 16 yr old girl discovers that she is pregnant, and goes a week finally trying to assess what life lays before her. At that moment, may be the first time that she has honestly assessed her life. Hopefully she knows a mentor whom she trusts and can confide in. Now if she determines that the best course of action, for herself and her future children, would be to abort this fetus. Then I would applaud her, and I would hope that she can learn from the experience to stop being so promiscuous, to straighten out her life. If an adult woman, finds herself likewise pregnant. And in her wisdom, she decides that the risks are too great, or that she can not provide enough to raise another child, or whatever; Then I would honor her decision, and praise her for at least trying to stop and think about what she is doing. We have raised foster-children the very hell-spawn demon-children out of control and state-over-seen children with more 'rights' then control. We had a 10-yr old sexual predator, with ADHD, ODD, RAD, and OED. We raised a girl who was routinely raped beginning at 5yr and the state insisted on maintaining visitations with her rapist father in prison. Children who were trained to be quite when their mother was working a trick, and to help grind her pills into powder so she could snort them. We adopted a FAS child. America has over 150,000 children currently free for adoption, awaiting to meet any adult willing to take them. But Americans would rather fly to Russia or China and buy their children [my niece just did]. And many states will even pay the adoptive family a child-support for taking these children. No we do not need more children to be dumped into the system.
  4. With the exception of messing with the Harlots, I see no problem with the rest of that behavior, all decent and orderly that is, and within marriage.
  5. I always saw that as saying that God knew us BEFORE we were formed. Which places it before our conception. And yes I have no problem with the idea that God knew me 1,000 years before I was born. So? I view God as outside of the timeline, and looking at the entire timeline as a whole, He knows everyone from all times.
  6. We have adopted. And we have been foster-parents for the state, in two different states. So I am all for adoption, and I do fully recognize that some folks are not able to have their own children, and would love to adopt. I also am aware that we have over 150,000 children legally-free currently awaiting adoptive-placement in foster-care nationwide, and most of them will never be adopted by those childless couples. I am also aware that brainwaves can be detected in fetuses, and heart-beats, and kicks, and lots of things; which would all seem to imply that a fetus is a living soul. I also believe that it is still not a living soul until that fetus takes it's own breath of air. :)

I wonder if they will take us Military Retirees?
  9. When you purchase the alcohol, it says how much water is in it. I get the 97% stuff.
  10. On another BBS that I frequent, there has been a running debate over using alcohol fueled vehilces. A couple years ago one university did a million dollar research project and published their findings that making alcohol for fuel takes more petrolium to produce the alcohol than how much fuel you would produce. So this study has been thrown aroudn a lot to convince folks that alcohol-fuel is a 'negative net' fuel. All this while some are producing alcohol-fuels without using petro-chemicals, and seem to be doing fine. Here are two that are being marketed for USA: http://www.obvio.ind.br/obviona/828.htm http://www.obvio.ind.br/obviona/012.htm Ugly! LOL But 'flex-fueled':
  11. I use the 90% stuff, as any lower percentage and your adding water. Over the years, I have looked at lots of the stuff on the shelves of autoparts stores advertsied to clean the jets and internals of your carberator. A lot of those products are alcohol. Paying $1 for a pint of alcohol from the grocery or drug store is better than spending $4 at a autoparts store.
  12. One of the worlds largest automobile manufacturing nations, makes ONLY alcohol burning autos [they still allow diesel trucking],and they only allow alcohol-fueled passenger vehicles [no gasoline], and none of it is mixed with any petrolium, and they make all of their alcohol fuel, and they have tried many times to import into the US but the US congress has consistantly blocked it. And this is converted into 'some corn is grown'. LOL Sorry but I had to do some research on that topic recently. :)
  13. Other countrys??? Here on the East coast gasohol is the only kind of gasoline available. [10% MTB added]
  14. I do this about once a month in each our vehicles.
  15. I recall a few times when a WOW family was coming into the area, so the LC would have this great idea for the entire state to meat in that community and to go through the surrounding blocks and any shopping malls. Door to door witnessing and inviting folks to begin attending the WOW's fellowship. Sometimes it was the only time that we would get to see the WOWs in their home. We would see them at Branch functions [if the branch meetings was within the WOW's city limits], but otherwise we were usually forbidden from making contact with the WOWs. I remember going to branch functions and TC meetings, where the meeting was just outside of the WOW city limits. Since they were not allowed to step outside of their assignment town for the year, they could not attend the branch function. But the BC or LC would be telling us all about how great the WOWs were doing. It would be funny since they would have been there for a year, but no body in the branch had met them [except for the BC or LC]. Weird. :)
  16. That sounds about right. I was 'in' for 18 years, and I attended one ROA. I did know others who attended 2 or 3 ROAs, though I also knew many others who never did go to one. My impression was that few folks ever attended more than maybe 3 ROAs. :)

    OOPS

Grout Ooops, good one. A guy that worked for me, I knew fairly well, I knew that he was having problems with his shoulder, but our doc insisted that he was malingering so I followed-along with the higher chain-of-command, and I was hard on him. It caused huge damage to his shoulder joint, and after the grief we gave him, when he finally was able to get to a doctor with a medical background, it was too late to save his shoulder. He lost his arm, because of me. Had I paid attention and trusted him, we would have gotten him medical attention [from a civilian doctor and not a Navy corpsman] when his shoulder was still fixable. But we were fortunate in that he lived. :)
  18. LOL I am surprized to see you as the next poster, I thought for sure that others would have jumped in there to blast any posetive comment about PFAL. LOL :)
  19. Some, not all, PFAL was written and presented by man. The Bible was authored by G-D. I am not aware of any one verse that says that no.
  20. Let us pretend for a moment that I do not hold dear any of the teachings from TWI. And that no body here has ever heard / nor attended a TWI worship service. When saying that sex is 'moral' under specific circumstances, what exactly is the guideline to make that determination? Do we each just make it up as we go along? Or is there some definite concrete guide [that does not change] by which we should try to apply to discover moral 'rightness'?
