  1. Clapton, did I hear someone say his name. Aaahhh I?m feeling better already. I love his stuff, have I ever mentioned that before. --> But I am partial to his later work like "Clapton Chronicles". I prefer the remake of "Layla" to his version of it on "Timepieces". I think his voice and style grew up and I just love this older Clapton the best. Cool how that happens with some artists. Age is profitable to us listeners. But my all time favorite of his is "River of Tears". I just love the soulful revealing of heart in it. Usually makes me cry, and I can?t tell ya how many times I have heard it. Needed a break from dealing with life so had to come back in and play a bit. Kathy
  2. So glad this party keeps on going. Yall are the best, thanks for sharing with us all.
  3. Morning yall, and yes bowtwi you are right on that. Even though we are not our best right now it is still much better than the other option. Miss yall, hope to be back soon and chat awhile. Love, Kathy
  4. Morning yall, sure is fun to check in and see your smiling words and faces. Not here much right now, hubby took a slight step backwards but all is well. And I have had some things going on as well. Geez getting older really sucks. --> A la prochaine, sorry I couldn't chat last night. :(--> Socks, check your email from me, I relayed something from Ted to ya. ;)--> Oak, you sure have loads to add here, so cool you coming on board. Thanks! My love to yall, Kathy
  5. Yall are delightful reading this morning. I love Gordon Lightfoot as well. He was like some of our 60's songsters in that many of his songs where stories with much meaning to them. On a different style of music. When I went thru my period of turning off country music part of the reason I did was cause I thought they contained too much real life ups and downs. Now as an adult (well I am still dragging my feat against that one :D--> ), I love the lyrics of country music. It is like plain on talking about life. Morning to ya, Kathy
  6. Oak, thanks. Well there are only so many options or else I would have put some of those others. And Gollum was just as a goofy one. But I see he has gotten voted on. :D--> Kathy
  7. HAPe4me, your account of your son asking how you ever got any sleep is fun. It brings back memories of how modern we thought we were becoming when each new music playing device was introduced. I remember thinking 8 tracks were "out of sight". Heck it took up most of your dash board and ya had to carry a dadgum box in the back seat to carry your 8 tracks in. :D--> A la prochaine, I read your words earlier but could not respond then. Girl if only ya knew how they ministered to me, if ya only knew. Kathy
  8. EWB, You very well could be right, someone may have remembered the words. I found myself turned off by it and quickly "washed my brain" of most of the words. :D--> That song spoke of the devils children that someday would be blood below their feet. If I remember correctly it was not referring to what they called empties (body and soul folks). Sorry I can't help with the words. Kathy
  9. What's your vote for Mr Middle Earth? I am torn between Aragorn and Legolas. :)-->
  10. Oak, do one for Mr Middle Earth okay. Oh well maybe I should do one. Since I am a girl. :D--> Kathy
  11. Oak, I love your bedtime tunes each night. Great fun! And if adding to musical history was a prerequisite to post here, well I would not be able to come on board. --> Kathy
  12. It was also sang at the Dallas Special one year. And I was told it would never be recorded for ears outside twi household to hear. Therefore would not be played during a STS.
  13. Thank you A la prochaine, music really can heal ya up can't it. And it can take ya away from the cares of the day. Kathy
  14. Morning yall, having one of those moments here so thanks for hanging in there with me. There is so much to be upset about in regards to twi both past and present. If you have read me you know I came on board beaten down to the ground. I received comfort and encouragement here, at times it was my only source of motivation to move ahead. Today it is easier to see the good I may have learned while in that group, and most of it was found in the songs sang. By no means does it lesson their evil ways, but what it did accomplish for my life was the sweetness of our Father above so that I could continue to endure to the day I could take flight from them. It takes courage for posters here to speak of good things realized while in twi, as we know anyone of us can document mass reasons to work at closing that group down. But it does, and I know this now experientially, help the healing process to remember the sweet things of God in those lyrics and the folks bringing it to us. When I came on board I wanted two things, one to heal up and second to help others do the same. I am convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, no one can force my change of heart on it, that what this thread houses is as vital to our recovery as pointing out the evil ways of twi. I had to have a break from the fire and rage, had to kick back and remember the sweet. That does not mean I sold out to them being anything different than abusers, it just means I had to find the balance. There is a balance. Okay enough said, thanks for hanging in there with me. My love, Kathy
  15. Happy Anniversary to a wonderful couple. May you have many days of gazing into the sunset together.
  16. Socks, Now ya went and did it, you included a line in that song about being eaten by a bear. Grizzy is gonna be really upset. :D--> ;)--> Kathy
  17. Thanks yall. I can't wait for Return Of The King.
  18. Frodo gets Smeagol/Gollum to admit that he was a Stoor Hobbit at one time. Not sure if this photo is something that was on the Two Towers extended version or if it will be in Return of the King during flashbacks. Since I never saw the extended version. But thought a cool photo.
  19. Well I gotta brag here yall. I am sitting here listening to a CD of Norah Jones I just got in the mail from A la prochaine. (finally got my sound card replaced -->) And she included some family photos, and I have to tell yall this, A la prochaine is one beautiful woman! Knew she was in her heart, now I can tell yall she is in person as well. Kathy
  20. A la prochaine, let me know what kind of picture you are looking for and I will see if I can help ya. I know more now than I did when you asked me back then. Okay kiddo. :)-->
  21. Ted, very wise of you. Cause we sure don't want to give twi any smarts do we. Let em stay dumb as dirt.
  22. I am in the middle of emailing with Ted right now and he is teaching me about copyrighting music. I thought this email of his would add to the thread. Ted?s email pasted here: This happened to me in Columbus while playing at the Lincoln Lodge. Tom T. Hall came in and after I took a break I introduced myself and I told him how much I liked his songs. Well, we got around to talking about someone stealing songs and how I was a little concerned about that. Tom smiled and said if someone has the balls to steal one of your songs that is a big compliment and if you are so f**king good you can always write another hit. That has stayed in my brain for years. Tom loved to drink beer so after I was through with the night we sat at the bar and got s**t faced together. End of email. I learned something called a poor boy?s copyright. It is where you send your song to yourself in an envelope. Once received you do not open it. That postmarked unopened envelope is your proof you wrote the song and when. Kathy
