  1. I can empathize with you. When I was with what Mike would call Way 1, I used to hitchhike 12 miles year round to get home from twig (my family lived 12 miles out of town). By Way 2, I lived in town, but, having no car I walked 90 minutes one way to attend twig. That's how committed I was. @Mike
  2. So God will heal atheist without scriptures, but Christians need scriptures? So why is God providing something for atheist He's not providing for his own church?
  3. Or how about "I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly"?
  4. I posted it from 3 John. First, you didn't address the prosperity part, even though I boldfaced it. Second, you're changing the definition of what's written in the text to shoehorn your inability to see that the law of believing is bunk.
  5. As far as bibical verses go, I guess "Beloved I wish above all you prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth" doesn't count, right?
  6. I'm calling bull. Remember: "The law of believing works for Saint and sinner alike." So are all the sinners having written promises from God? Do they all have revelation from God? So your definition of a need getting met is someone surviving to tell you how it failed?
  7. Sounds like your mind is already made up and, despite your claims of this being a hunch, you're not looking for is it true or is it false, you want everyone to say, "Yah, we buy it."
  8. So, where's that overlap you claimed when you didn't answer this post:
  9. You forget, I've been through this a dozen times. Soon after the two events I mentioned I stopped ABS. My twig leaders wife asked what was going on. Her answer: she handed me the Christians Should Be Prosperous booklet. Years after the event I stated, I was a regular in the local Wendy's. One day, a woman that worked there approached some friends and I and started witnessing to us. I come to find out she was a Corps person assigned to the town. I told her the ABS failure account. Her response: "You'll have to ask my husband about that." Needless to say, I didn't ask her husband, because I never saw her again, as she left her job at Wendy's. It seems the Way is very good about promising this is the truth, but very bad on what to do when it's proven false by someone doing a faceplant.
  10. No, you're talking all around the point and refusing to get to the point. You should have started with the point.
  11. I asked a simple question requiring a simple answer, not something that would require me to play where's Waldo with possibilities.
  12. You're confusing a complete idea or theory with writing an e-book to explain it. As much respect as you earn. Because your definition of paying attention means accepting your ideas no matter how outrageous.
  13. Don't you think that transmits a lack of respect for your audience? I mean, if you respected your audience you'd offer them something complete. Also, you're not speaking of the idea of "two door", you're speaking of the idea of opening and closing. You're not speaking of the idea of "a budget", you're speaking of the idea of limit. Are there better words to describe opening and closing and limit?
  14. You know Samuel Longhorn Clements (not the rooster) once said the difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug. Rather than chastising people for not understanding "budget" or "double doors" perhaps you need to crack your thesaurus and find words that better fit your concept. This is the difference between a solid theory and a half baked theory.
  15. So far you've posted nothing to prove why my two instances of believing failed.
  16. Yah, I'm going to waste my time using a search engine when it's not important enough for you to. Sloppy..sloppy...sloppy.
  17. First, your link doesn't work. Second, don't you think I'd want to read it in the original? Third, why the reformatting? Fourth, how do I know you didn't edit out everything you disagreed with, leaving in only the parts you agree with? Intellectual dishonesty at its finest.
  18. Now what has that to do with the price of auto mechanics in Detroit. My point was I did your program and it failed miserably.
  19. The year was 1986. Neither the branch leader, nor the twig leader were corps.
  20. Anybody who buys into the law of believing should ask themselves is this something the devil would want everyone to know? Then why is it part of pop culture, rebranded as the secret or the law of attraction?
  21. Another example. Same period of time. As you can see by my previous example, things weren't exactly champagne and caviar for me. So I went to the branch leader and asked him what I was doing wrong. "You need a job making $20 an hour," he told me. "Where do you find those?" I asked. "I'm going to send you to your twig leader for an answer." So I approached my twig leader. His answer:"I don't know." Nevermind if you obey the MOG God will bless you all the same. Again, believing+action=landing flat on my face.
  22. You're not clinging to the law of believing as Jesus stated it? You're clinging to how Saint Vic interpreted it. There's a distinction. Jesus taught about faith.
  23. Oh, really?! Just before I left the ministry in 1986, I was about to give ABS. At the time I was recently between job and I had given ABS faithfully for a year. I quickly calculated my finance and found I would come up short of food on Saturday (I believe it was Wednesday or Thursday). I remembered Saint Vic said when you ABS God protects your money and I was expecting a check Saturday from a temporary job I had done. So I wrote the check and placed it in the horn of plenty. Saturday rolled around and no check. Nothing to eat Sunday. Monday I went to the business and found out the sent the check to an address I lived at 10 years prior. (I later found out the new residents took the check and cashed it.) I had to argue with the business manager to even get half the money owed me. Now, you have believing and action and I had skin on the game, so what happened. (I have many more examples, as I'm sure other posters here do.)
