  1. I think my favorite song of theirs was the "MTA" (Massachusetts Transit Authority). It was actually a political ad complaining that the MTA had just added a dime surcharge to the fare if you passed a certain station. It was collected as you leave. One poor passenger got on the train unawares and couldn't get off, because he didn't have a dime on him. The really sill part was that his wife would hand him a sandwich through the window every day. Why didn't she just give him a dime? By the time I went to MIT, the extra fare was well established, so I was never caught without the extra dime. The CTA in Chicago did something similar. When I took a CTA train in from the northern suburbs, the conductor would collect the extra fare or a transfer token when you entered Chicago. George
  2. Just not ringing any bells. Maybe other lyrics might give it to me, but that's not the point of this thread. George PS I thought my "Name That Tune" post was a gimme, especially with the last lyric I added, but no one seems to be getting it, either.
  3. It sounded like a Tony Stark thing to say. New one soon. George

  6. No. (Probably guessed because of Road to Bali.) My Friend Irma The Stooge Road to Bali The Caddy Artists and Models Pardners Hollywood or Bust Rio Bravo Sergeants 3 Something's Got to Give Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? George
  7. My cursive isn't as good as it once was, but I still write quite legibly. My printing is better; I use that almost exclusively when writing in lab books. My understanding is that children for the last decade or two have not even been TAUGHT cursive. If you ask them, "How do you sign checks?" they just stare blankly. I believe, though, that cursive is making a comeback; and I think that's a good thing. (Of course, I still have a flip phone and a cathode ray tube TV.) George

  10. Actually it was Just Another F*ing Observer. But Blue Thunder is correct. George
  11. Really? Nothing? Ok, then "Tell Tchaikovsky the news." George

  13. Very briefly, the first five episodes were the "Armageddon" crossover. After a two-episode "interlude" the next main arc had Iris trapped in the Still Force and Ronnie Raymond resurrected (or not). Another interlude, then the last story arc had Team Flash fight against the "Negative" Forces (negative versions of the Speed, Still, Strong, and Sage). You can get a lot more detail HERE. George
  14. "Wipeout" and "Frogger" are decent names for a TV show. "Floor is Lava" is dull, maybe because it's too on-the-nose. This one-season show was based on a successful movie. In fact, to save money, the TV show used a lot of film footage from the movie. Frequently throughout the season one can see that the pilot is wearing the green flight suit from the movie and not the blue flight suit that they're wearing in the television show. Dana Carvey's character is referred to as "Just Another Frustrated Observer" to avoid another F-word used in the movie. George
  15. I see ads for Ghosts every time I watch Young Sheldon, but I've never tuned in. It does seem to have an interesting premise, though. George
  16. C) must have lava or volcano in the title. When I played the game, we assumed shark-infested waters. Interestingly, the latest episode of (the new) Fantasy Island had three siblings who had to work together essentially playing that game to escape a closed room. (And their floor was lava...) George PS was B) called "Wipeout"?
  17. Sorry. I thought this would be pretty easy. "You know my temperature's rising The jukebox blowing a fuse My heart's beating rhythm And my soul keep a-singing the blues." "Well, early in the morning I'm giving you my warning Don't you step on my new shiny shoes Hey diddle diddle, I'ma play my fiddle Ain't got nothing to lose." George
