  2. In his autobiography, one of the stars said of his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination and win that "my first reaction was one of incredulity and vague pleasure, followed by a sense of embarrassment at the realization that for most actors of my age, an Academy Award or even a nomination comes as the hard-earned culmination of a long and dedicated career; mine was the reward for ten agreeable days spent with a friend in Toronto!" The same actor is also known for commercials portraying a very similar character. These commercials were often lampooned, exaggerating the actor's elite air. George
  3. Thanks, oldies. I'll take it into consideration. George
  4. Abbott and Costello? ("Who's on first?" Etc.) George If that's right, I'd give it to Raf who told us the third and first basemen.
  5. I had Kaspersky for several years and was quite happy with it, but as of mid-last year they quit updating it (worried about the Russians, I guess.) It was replaced by UltraAV until the Kaspersky subscription ended, which is right about now. Any suggestions for a replacement? I don't need a lot of bells and whistles. I have a single device (a PC). I don't need a password manager, though I could use a VPN. Norton Standard seems to fit the bill, but reviews say it has abominably many popups, continually tries to upsell, and has lousy customer service. McAfee and BitDefender may be good alternatives, or maybe even resubscribe to UltraAV. I just don't know. I would assume that this forum would attract responses from the most knowledgeable GS-ers. Can you help? George

  8. Maybe I'm just older. I can think of at least two other CR films, though only one which would be easy to link to. The "three-day rule" ends tomorrow... George

  12. The Six Million Dollar Man is correct. Interestingly, when the show was broadcast in Israel, it was called "The Man Who Is Worth Millions". This was due to the fact that, in Israel, the number six million is associated with the Holocaust. In Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America ONLY, the series is known as El Hombre Nuclear ("The Nuclear Man"). George
  13. I didn't watch the show, but maybe How I Met Your Mother (?) George
  14. How about the main character? Having an OG figure would be like having a Chief O'Hara figure. George
  15. Two of the main supporting characters appeared on this series and its spin-off. When the spin-off moved to another network, this practice continued. This was the first time the same continuing characters appeared on two different television series, broadcast on two different networks at the same time. The star has said that he performed about 90% of his own stunts. In the spring of 1977, before production began on what would be the show's final season, the star refused to go to work until contract demands were met. At one point, it was reported that producers were considering hiring a new actor to take over the series. Among those considered were Gil Gerard, Bruce Jenner, and Harrison Ford (the producers said he was unsuitable as an action hero). George
  16. 1: "I don't care if they did call you Larry Poppins. You are completely unfit to handle a child." 2: "It was Barry Poppins." 1: "What kind of sick cocktail were you going to make my grandson?" 3: "Jack, the baby's teething. I told Greg to give him some rum to ease the pain." 1: "It was your idea?" 3: "Yes." 1: "What is wrong with you people?" "Greg, a man reaches a certain age when he realizes what's truly important. Do you know what that is?" " Love... friendship... enjoying the moment... living... just love." "His legacy." "That, too. Right, yeah. Sure." "Let me put it very simply. If your family's circle does indeed join my family's circle, they'll form a chain. I can't have a chink in my chain." George
