  1. I remember watching "Stingray" and "Fireball XL-5." (Incidentally, did you know that Castrol got its name from the fact that castor oil was an early motor lubricant?) The star of this show played a similar role in an early Tom Cruise film. The opening theme is performed by the Iowa State Cyclone Marching Band, who won the right to do so by winning a national contest. George
  2. I don't think it was in that movie. That's not the one I have in mind, anyway. George
  3. The star of this film gets career advice, including "If you wanna make it, twinkle while you shake it" and "If you wanna bump it, bump it with a trumpet." George
  4. In this movie, two orphan girls are cast out by their aunt and sent to a harsh charity school for girls. One becomes a child star, the other a well-received actress, later in life. The bitter former child star torments her sibling mercilessly. FYI the constituent movies are in reverse order. George
  5. I got it from the last one, and then the rest just fell into place. George
  6. Still hauntingly familiar, but not clicking. And, why SHOULDN'T women on moonbases wear purple wigs, silver catsuits, and lots of eye makeup? ;) George
  7. "Star Trek: First Contact"? George
  8. Well here's another one we've used before, but (I believe) a different quote. This one had so many memorable ones. And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. George
  9. The Beach Boys essentially stole this tune, with new lyrics, to make "Surfin USA." After years in court, the writer of this song finally got listed as the composer of "Surfin USA." George
  10. Vision Quest Linda Fiorentino Men in Black George
  11. I'm having real trouble coming up with a new one. If anyone else wants to jump in, feel free. George
  12. I've never seen the movie, but every cannibalistic double entendre seems to lead to "Silence of the Lambs." George
  13. B and D seem familiar, but it's probably been 50 years since I've seen them. Maybe Hiway will chime in. These seem more up his alley. George
  14. I never considered "The Man from UNCLE" a comedy, though like "I/Spy," it did have its humorous elements. The answer I was looking for was, in fact, "Chico and the Man from UNCLE." George
  15. Not getting it from the titles OR the lyrics. Sorry. George
  16. Though both component shows contained humorous elements, I would only consider one of them an actual comedy. George
  17. A cheerful young Mexican-American convinces a couple of cranky spies to take him on as a partner in their fight against an evil organization. (TV show) George
