  1. French horn is cool, but Annie will have to be prepared to play a LOT of off-beats (the "pah" in "Oom-pah"), at least in band. In orchestra, teh music will be a little more interesting. George
  2. All you needed to see was the commercial for it! George
  3. I'm sure Raf knows it, from his response. It is not "Double Indemnity" or "Double Exposure." George
  4. Neither one is correct. Keep trying! George
  5. All righty, then... Her name was Bertha...Bertha Butt. George
  6. I agree with Hiway. I and my frat brothers would watch it on Saturday mornings. As well as the "usual" crew, there were also a cat-person whosed name escapes me and Lt. Eryx, a more "alien" crew member. As I recall, the cartoon showcased the first "holodeck," which became a staple of later Trek shows. George

Welcome, Lori! As Kevlar pointed out, the people here have had a wide range of experiences with TWI, ranging from not so bad to downright abysmal. There are all sorts of things to do at Greasespot, from doctrinal discussions to sharing experiences to prayer rooms to game playing! Find what suits you. Not everyone here will always agree with you, but there are always plenty of people willing to help! George

Yeah, old man! Here's to a great birthday and many more to come! Happy birthday!! George
  10. Okay, still a long shot, (Reds win two, Astros split two, Cards lose three). What happens then? George

  12. I assume you're joking about Traxx. "Peacemaker" it is. Good to have you back, Sharon! George
  13. "Those nanoprobes you have scare the hell out of me!" Geroge
  14. I believe Sprawled Out was still referring to "The Changeling." I believe Hiway's clue is to "Miri," though there was another episode that featured children prominently. That will be my next guess if "Miri" is not correct. George

  16. Fine. The episode was "The Changeling." An old earth space probe had a collision in space with another ship and became this ultimate machine, "sterilizing" anything it considered less than perfect. It thought Kirk was its creator (whose name was really Korak, or something). Before it had a chance to "sterilize" the ship, Kirk convinced it that it was in error, causing it do decide to "sterilize" itself. As they carry it the transporter pad, Spock says, "Your logic is impeccable, Captain. We are in grave danger!" In the final wrp-up, Kirk points out that Nomad had raised Scotty from the dead (after killing him!) and that Nomad had considered Kirk his "father." So, Kirk jokingly bemused, "What a doctor he would have made! My son, the doctor!" Go, Hiway. George
  17. Okay, long shot here... What happens if the Reds, Astros, and Cardinals all finish with 82 (or 81) wins? I remember a few years ago when the Astros, Reds, and Mets all finished with 95 wins. Somehow, the Astros were declared the NL Central winner, and the Reds and Mets played a game to determine the wild card spot. Does it go by head-to-head victories? In that case, the Reds would win, having pounded the Cards and Stros during the regular season. George
  18. Denny Dillon (below) appeared on "Dream On" and "Dr. Science," not to mention a brief stint on "Saturday Night Live." I could have sworn that she once said she had been a "Mouseketeer," but I find no record of that in Google. Anybody know for sure? George
